  • Hey everyone. I'm 5'2" and I've lost 50 lbs. By no means a success yet, I still have a ways to go, but my profile pic is my progress pic. Not sure how to post it here. Below are my stats SW: 223.8 lbs (OCT 2016) CW: 173 lbs (JUNE 2017) GW: 135 lbs Total Inches Lost: 30.5 Inches Total Weight Lost: 50.8 lbs I can always use…
  • OMG I've been doing the same thing...I got 3 new pairs of jeans for Christmas and I've been trying to shrink them. It's so frustrating to have to get new clothes, but also so exciting!
  • I did week 1 (x4), then just moved onto week 2. The app is designed to work for the most amount of people, but doesn't work for everyone. I decided to move onto week 2 after week 1 no longer seemed like I was dying. Go at your own pace and decide to move along with the program when you feel ready. I'm using the app as a…
  • Hi, I'm interested in joining your group. My stats are below. Age: 27 Height: 5'2" Starting Weight: 223 Current Weight: 173 Goal Weight: 135
  • Stretch before and after a run. Make sure to stretch your whole body, not just your legs.
  • Hi Everyone! I'm Morgan, I live in Des Moines, IA. So far, using MFP I've lost 50lbs in a little over 8 months. I'm looking to lose about 40 more, but right now I'm focusing more on fitness and toning than losing the weight. I started C25K about a month ago and my husband is working out with me. We are really busy, so we…
  • I buy all of mine online. Amazon, Target and Under Armor. Buying online saves a lot of money, and usually under armor will send coupons if you sign up for their email newsletter.
  • Welcome to MFP. I've found that these are the top 5 suggestions on here for newbies: 1. Weigh all of your food, guessing and using measuring cups can result in over or under eating calories. 2. Weigh in weekly and take body measurements. Sometimes the scale will go up, down, or stay, but your measurements will go down.…
  • My husband and I started the C25K program a couple weeks ago. We aren't following it exactly though, we figured out we need to do each week twice, otherwise we can't be successful. So we are on week 1 again. Moving to week 2 next week. Feel free to add me!
  • First, I would say to be patient, many people take some time to see results 6-8 weeks. It sounds like you already know this though. Secondly, if you have a loss of appetite, you should speak with your doctor about it. It could be the symptom of an underlying health condition that may be keeping you from losing weight.…
  • At 5' tall and 172 lbs you could potentially lose weight in the 1200-1400 calorie range. If you aren't doing any exercise at all, it is going to be hard to maintain if you do. It will also depend on the types of foods you are eating. Make sure to accurately log everything, and allow some time for the changes to take…
  • I would recommend going by the MFP setup, or consulting a doctor before going under 1200 calories per day. I am 5'2" and I usually do 1200-1400 per day and I've lost 47 lbs so far. It's doable with more calories, and you won't have to worry about being hungry or not having enough energy all the time.
  • 5'2" (A little shorter than the intended posting) SW:223.8 (US size 16) CW: 175.2 (US size 14, they are a bit baggy) I'm pear shaped though, so probably not comparable to most. It was interesting to see the sizings though.
  • There is another forum that most of us use, http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10482801/5-53-females-want-to-lose-25-30-lbs#latest. I'm 5'2 SW: 223 CW: 176 Feel free to add me.
  • To start, Wow that is a great loss! Be proud of that, you worked hard and you deserve to feel good about it. Secondly, the loose skin will tighten up after awhile if you continue to eat healthy foods and exercise, it will take time though. Finally, your husband should love you for the wonderful, beautiful person you are,…
  • Generally, it depends on the person and what you are doing and how often. Are you on a MFP track, how many calories are you eating daily? Are you tracking everything? How many calories are you burning compared to what you are eating? All of these factors will determine how fast you see results. I've heard that your height…
  • I know how you feel, but it sounds like you must be building some muscle. One of my biggest motivators is to take measurements as well as weighing in weekly. Some weeks I don't see the scale move, but I'm still losing inches. I would recommend measuring arms, chest, waist, hips, and thighs each week when you weigh in. If…
  • It really depends on where you are losing the weight, generally where you are heaviest is the last place to slim down. I didn't start to notice any change until I lost 20lbs, then I had to buy new bras, then I started to notice my shirts and jeans were baggier than before. Other people didn't start to say anything until I…
  • First see a doctor, obviously. I would recommend starting with walking, then once your doctor approves, move into more intense workouts.
  • Hey, No judgement here! Do you wear contacts or glasses when you run? I fell down some stairs one day out of nowhere, and then I started falling all the time. I figured out it was because my prescription changed on me and my depth perception was off. After I got new contacts, no more falls. It's worth a shot if you are…
  • Hi Seajolly, I haven't seen you on here for awhile, but would love to be your friend again. I think your goal would be slightly unreasonable and potentially unhealthy. While it is true that many people who are obese lose more than the recommended 2lbs per week due to the drastic lifestyle change with eating healthy and…
  • Hey, Evenings, weekends, stress, etc. is pretty much the story of everyone on here. I, myself, am a sugar addict. So cutting down on candy and soda was the hardest part for me. I started out replacing soda with coffee and gatorade, and then slowly started drinking smaller and smaller amounts of gatorade, until I was just…
  • Great, glad to have you join up. You can favorite this group by clicking the little star at the top of this page, or you can start adding us as friends (I sent you a request).
  • I'm sorry this happened to you. Unfortunately we live in a world where people can be ugly and horrible to each other without much consequence. I listen to my ipod on walks, and then when people honk or yell out their windows, I like to think they are cheering me on, regardless of what they are actually saying! Many of us…
  • Haven't updated in awhile. Stats: SW - 223 CW - 180 GW - 135 Height 5'2" 1200 cal/per day (Diary is open) Feel free to add me, I always like having more motivating friends!
  • 5'2" Goal is 135, Currently at 180. I think it depends on how much muscle you want, and how active you want to stay once you get to your goal. I would like to stay relatively active once I reach my goal with lean muscle, so I'm shooting for 135lbs.
  • Just now seeing this... Weigh in day is sunday. Starting weight: 208 Goal weight: 135 Current weight: 182.8 Total weight lost: .9 This week's successes: Didn't buy lunch all week This week's challenges: Need to go grocery shopping, wasn't able to make as many meals as I would like.
  • Hey everyone. I posted on here back in October when I first started with MFP. SW: 208 CW: 184 GW: 140 Feel free to add me! I'm always looking for motivating friends!
  • Hey everyone! Stats: 5'2" SW: 208 CW: 184 GW: 140 I started MFP back in October and love it. I started out trying to do 2lbs per week, but feel a lot better with a slight increase in calories so I'm at about 1lb per week now. Does anyone live in the Des Moines, IA area? I would love to have a spring fitness partner to meet…
