  • I like the style of 90s clothes, and I wear a much different size in vintage clothes than I do new clothes. Just bought a 90s size 12 that's tight on me, but my newer skirts are 6-8 and fit fine. I couldn't squeeze in a vintage size 8 if my life depended on it.
  • I eat separately from my family, so I buy what I need for about that. Biggest thing for me is buying huge bags of frozen vegetables (love broccoli and onion/pepper mix) and roasting up a sheet pan or two full in the oven. -Add some teriyaki to that and serve with rice. -Add it to pasta with a little cream cheese. -Add it…
  • My son grabbed my phone and caught a video of me while I was unaware. He showed me the video and I looked soooo awful. I already knew that my clothes were getting too tight and I couldn't fit in some things, but that video made me want to curl up and die. I decided to do whatever I had to in order to lose the weight.
  • I gained 25 lbs with my first and bounced back pretty quickly and easily. I gained 40 lbs with my second and it took longer to bounce back and I could never get that last 10 lbs off. Having learned my lesson, I only gained 25 lbs with number 3, and I struggled then too, stuck with 10 lbs extra. If I had mfp, I'm sure I…
  • I'm 5'1, I weighed 105-110 at one point. Looking back at pictures, I was too thin. I looked awkward and unhealthy. I much prefer how I looked at 115-120.
  • It might help to look into strength training if you want to maintain some shape *in the rest of your body* as you lose the fat. I can't recommend it enough. It's helping me to lose in a more flattering way than I've ever lost in the past.
  • I've been doing 15-20 minutes with weights or resistance bands 3x a week or so right before bed. It's time efficient and it works for my goals of trying to not end up skinny fat, and building up some strength. Eventually I'll get some equipment to do some heavier weights, but this is good in the meantime. I get a few walks…
  • I like the 'mood' of working out at night.
  • I don't think I've EVER successfully saved leftovers for the next day. But I still tell myself that lie at the restaurant, and I still believe it.
  • I'm guilty of that too. My husband even jokes about it when we're out that the leftovers probably won't even make it home.
  • I want to get out of the 'overweight' bmi range and into the 'normal' range, which is 5 lbs away.
  • I'm not big on snacks or sugar, my problem is leftovers. Like if I'm out and I buy some Chinese or a sub or whatever, I have no problem eating just half, but if I take the leftovers with me, I can't resist eating them as soon as I get home. Even my kid's and husband's leftovers are irresistible to me in the fridge.
  • Mfp gives me 1,200 for 1 lb a week. I usually end up eating 1,300 and have still averaged 1 lb a week anyway so far. I've gotten a bit wiser as to how to eat at that goal and not go crazy, mainly learning how to ration the calories where I get a lot for the time of day I'm the hungriest.
  • Usually I'll just throw some stuff in a wrap, whatever protein and veggies I have laying around.
  • Do you think you could order out and go eat at a park or some public place? That way you could bring your food from home, he gets his restaurant food, and you still get to be around people?
  • I make 1.5 cups dry (900 calories) in the rice cooker and dip a cup out everyday. It lasts 5 days. 900/5 I buy bags of frozen vegetable mixes. For example, for my main mix, a whole bag is 225 calories. I eat half one day, and half the next. That's one of the reasons why I buy the frozen, it's easy to track. I'm still…
  • I've been struggling with that since trying to go plant based. I think I'm going to add some coconut oil into my shake and see how it goes. And some avocado or something with my lunch.
  • I cook it and then measure out 1 cup of cooked brown rice. I eat like half a large sheet pan of roasted vegetables on top of the bed of rice. I add about 1 tbsp of olive oil to the vegetables before hand. It's a lot of food, but only adds up to about 400 calories on a good day.
  • I'm struggling to even meet 1,200 a day since I gave up junk foods and started eating more plant based. I'm doing an oatmeal shake for breakfast with unsweetened almond milk, a HUGE plate of brown rice and roasted veggies for lunch, and I don't even want to snack I'm so full from those. Dinner is protein and vegetables.…
