I'm behind as usual on the thread and don't have much time now for a real post but wanted to drop in and say good luck to @MNLittleFinn tomorrow!

@MNLittleFinn I agree with @ctlaws44 on washing the shirt. Also, even if you do try out the shirt first and it's fine, if it were me I would be inclined to put some Vaseline or body glide on the under part of the arms that may rub against the bottom of the loose arm hole as you swing your arms. No telling where you'll get…

I feel like everybody has a personal preference on this. The posted rules on the multi-use path that I run on a lot are that cyclists are to signal when passing. It doesn't say anything about runners. Personally, I'm grateful when someone on a bike announces themselves because I usually run with headphones in and can't…

Hi all! I haven't forgotten about you guys, just have been pretty busy (like last month) and on top of that, my computer has decided to work only when it wants to and typing long posts on my phone is annoying. I've been reading some of the thread here and there. Congratulations to all those PRs and awesome races/runs I've…

Goal is to continue with the beginning of full marathon training while remaining injury-free. Since the first few weeks of marathon training is either less or about the same weekly mileage I've been running lately and I want to give a little bit of a buffer, I'll set my goal 105 miles...15 less than May.

Congratulations to everyone on all the miles in May! @Orphia Haha, how strange! I've tried to relate my hives to everything possible and have been allergy tested for everything under the sun, but nothing so severe that it would cause hives like this for this long has come up positive. We're pretty sure it's an…

I love that you've all banded together to support @HonuNui and the Melanoma Cure 5k. It's a cause near to my heart and I've love to contribute. I'm not in a position to donate right now, but will definitely be doing so before the race takes place. Thanks @Orphia for setting that up. I've also been a lot more diligent in…

Congratulations to everyone who raced today and good luck to all those who have races tomorrow! @garygse I've thought of that option but there's not a shower in my building or one that I know of in a building nearby accessible to me, otherwise I'd definitely try that. I do frequently pack a bag with my running gear to…

Hey all! It's been awhile since I've checked in and I haven't been keeping up with the thread. I hate to start May off with a rest day, but I'm being cautious since I felt some uncomfortable twinges in my right shin (same one that was injured recently) after my long run yesterday. I was planning on getting in today's miles tomorrow but I'll have to play it by ear. @kristinegift Welcome back and congrats on the PR!…

@Stoshew71 Sorry the weather so greatly affected your marathon, but you still did incredibly well given the circumstances. Hopefully you will get the race your were hoping for next time. Very cool souvenir too! @kimlight2 Congrats on a great race! Sounds like you had a great time and I'm glad the rain held off for you.

I've got 121 miles planned leading up to my half marathon on 5/27. I'll likely get in more miles in the remaining four days after, but leaving my goal at 120 miles leaves me a little bit of a buffer if I need it, so 120 miles it is.

Well done to everyone making their April mileage goals! @7lenny7 This is a bit late, but good luck in your race... Or rather, hope it went well! @RespectTheKitty Glad your hip is feeling better! @lporter229 Sorry about your running break but you are wise to take a self-imposed break to clear things but before they get…

I know! I was working the Cap City Half Marathon this morning in Columbus and they canceled 2 hours after gun time. I signed up for text tracking for Stan and I got a 15K notification after the 13.1 notification and the pace was all messed up (16+ min/mile). I was really hoping they didn't reroute/close the course but I…

You signed up for two races in one day?! I guess you could always try to take a late afternoon nap to trick your body into thinking that it's the next day when you wake up for your night race? Kudos to you for going for it. I actually do about 50-75% of my runs in the afternoon/evening due to a fluctuating work schedule.…
-
@MobyCarp and @BeeerRunner Thanks for the input on the night race. I think I'll luck out with the headlamp (I'd much prefer not to wear one) as the race starts at 6pm and I'll probably be finished while it's still fairly light out. I don't expect this to be a very crowded race at all, so I expect I'll cross the start line…

I'm basically always looking for running routes wherever I go. One of the reasons I chose the apartment that I live in now is because there are a bunch of different options for running from home. I also get bored running the same few routes, so I try to mix it up throughout the week so that I'm not running the same route…

Has anyone ever run a longer distance race at night? I'll be most likely running a half marathon on Memorial Day weekend. It's called the New Moon Half Marathon to help ring in summer nights, so it's a whole moon theme and it starts at 6pm. I'll have to give some thought into how I want to handle nutrition and sleep. I'm…

@BEERRUNNER @WhatMeRunning @lporter229 Thanks! I think I'm okay with not setting a PR since it's my first race back pre-injury and I came pretty close, given the circumstances (which almost makes it worse, I guess). I guess you could also say that I technically did PR because I've never run at 6.9 mile race before ;)…
