I walk long distances at a moderate/fast pace, and started noticing a difference a month after I started (before I kicked off the diet itself). Saddle bags have all but melted away, thighs feel stronger, calves are smaller, arms are getting more toned. Still have 10kg left but my body looks pretty good.

Cous cous is only 100 cals for 100g dry. Can make it sweet with milk saffron and cardomon for an extra 20 cals, or savoury with roast veg/meat. Yum

I'm the opposite. Husband and I have demanding jobs so dinner is when we decompress and spend time together & so I'll save up my calories for it. I tend to do this by splitting my day meals so a bit of breakfast at 5am and the rest at 9am. A bit of lunch at 1pm and the rest at 6pm when I'm commuting.

I have an office job but still get my 10k steps per day: I commute using public transport where possible. (Public transport encourages more walking) I take a long brisk walk at lunch. I keep going for short walks around the office whenever possible. I use the stairs instead of the lift where possible. I use a bluetooth…

I find it easier on my stomach to have a 'fast' day after overeating - so just lots of teas/light soups and salads. Then it's back to normal the next day.
-
You could budget for it? I have exams coming up and need sweets/chocolate in the hall to perform to an appropriate level - the cals have been saved up all week!

1200 is a net calorie goal for 2 pound weight loss. If you exercise you should eat more. Some days I'll go up to 1600 gross (net still 1200) and still lose!

I think you're either overestimating your calorie burn. Or you're gaining muscle. Do you look slimmer?

I'm 5 6 have a overweight BMI and my BMR is 1850 ie those calories will maintain my weight. At your height and size, to achieve the weight loss you need, you will absolutely need to use MFP to set up your profile. 1900 is a figure even I would gain on and I'm active! If the only exercise you do as at the gym and you don't…

My activity varies so set it to sendentary and then eat back 100 percent of the exercise calories. Still losing.

How do you manage meals? It's much better for you to eat the same as everyone else (but in carefully disguised hidden portions - my plate is always as full as the others' just with different stuff ) if you all eat together. Also, agree with others to say it shouldn't be mentioning calorie restriction/watching what you eat…

Use a rainbow principle to make it easier if you like - so each meal should include fruit/veg of all the colours.

Every day all three meals and snacks when at work. When at home I cook all three from scratch.

I eat back all my exercise calories. Have PCOS (so lower BMR than normal folk) but have maintained weight using MFP for years. I'm now on the next stage of my loss programme and strategy is working just fine for loss too. But I walk a fast paced 5-10miles a day so I need to. If you don't eat back exercise calories you'll…

Instead of fruit/veg pills eat fruit and veg?

I need to eat a of bulky low cal food in one go to feel full. Usually huge 400 cal salads. I tend to get most of my carbs from raw veg and it's really helped

Go to the GP. Can be something serious. You're in the right age group for things like Ovarian Cancer etc. Push for a scan of your abdomen.

I've lost 40 pounds and maintained it for 7 years using MFP. Am now starting the program to lose the next 40

Are you in wheelchair or are under 5ft tall? That's the only time I've seen figures like that (my aunt is in a wheelchair and was told to reduce to 800-1000 per day because she can't move her arms enough to move it herself).

I wear the Karrimor stuff from Sports Direct as it's cheap but the USA Pro stuff is gorgeous if you want to shell out a bit more.

Have you mentioned this to your doctor? Increased abdominal size which is unresponsive to weight loss along with your fatty liver, might be a red flag.

I'd like to join. Not going to lose 50 all at once, but I'd like to get down to 120.

It certainly has become an obsession lol. My problem is my legs - I can't figure out where to put them. I'm strong enough to climb but my flexibility or 'gymnastic ability' is really lacking. I also really struggle to balance pushing up with my legs with pulling up with my arms. :#

Try being an Ango-Indian (via East Africa) lol. None of the food I eat is listed or if it is, it's for the Indian versions which often use more sugar and oil. Just create your own meals. It's a pain in the *kitten*, yes, but you'll eventually have a handy list of references for future use. Also, making educated guesses is…

How much do you move? I think breastfeeding calorie burn is dependant on supply and how often your child feeds, so it's highly individual. My sister lost all her baby weight just by breastfeeding and eating her normal crazy calorie intake (she's the only 100 pound girl I know who maintains on 2-3k calories a day). My…

I will leave healthy gaps in my calories for the week, so I can have my long leisurely blow out brunches on the weekend. Sometimes I create those gaps by eating less, othertimes by moving more.

Depends. It's fairly humid here right now so don't feel like eating huge meals- so I've snacked loads. As long as I'm still monitoring it's ok.
