Just going in with that sense of awareness and control is definitely a NSV!!! Have fun!

Keep it simple. Literally one choice at a time. And from a 53 year old mama of a 4, 6 and 8 year old.... to you, I say, do this for yourself now, while you are young and can enjoy the fruits of a healthy body and then subsequently a mind at peace and a soul that is not burdened with worry about being a healthy example for…

Yep. I had to be brutally honest with myself about the logging accurately......there is no explanation for my several month plateau except that: it is totally self induced. Food scale and self awareness are going to get me on my way again. Of this I am certain! Good luck....stay the course and YOU CAN DO IT

The first 79 pounds came off fast for me at 1200 calories but then as I continued to educate myself about TDEE and metabolisms etc, I began to see that I may have really handicapped myself by starting at such a low number. I have 30 pounds or so to go and I have slowly increased my calories and I have lowered my goal each…

Take heart and just keep doing what you are doing! Being diligent in the calorie logging will be key but also finding a comfortable exercise will help with your motivation and general well being! Good luck! Sorry about the knee

I have also been on that med for over 10 years. When I asked my doc about lowering the dosage he said that it is not necessarily weight driven like some other drugs.....I may ask again when I go to my physical.

Started this journey 2 years ago...logging for 2 years. Steady weight loss for the first 79 pounds but I have 30 to go and I have been stalled for months, at least 8 months of a 2-3 lb up and down. Last week I identified that I have not been true to myself with the discipline of logging so I regrouped. No change in the…

Hi Jason, I have settled on just listening to my body...because I discovered, like you, that two days of rest in a row really set me up to feel some kind of way....and it was not energized. Presently I am doing every other day: lift then cardio etc. Working at this time. Great work you do! I was going to ask you about the…

Hi Ron, first, so glad for you being on your way to wellness after your diagnosis! Amen to that. I agree that the numbers seem inflated. I generally follow that rule of only eating back 1/2 of my calories burned just in case.

Me too on scale placement and the tipping back on heels works too. Mind bend this weighing thing is.

I wish I had not exposed my skin to so much sun..... I am not able to cite the scientific evidence but I know it exists, that tanning beds (and the sun) are very damaging and pose potential cancer risks..... if I had it to do over again, I would not. HOpe you make the most educated decision you can about this topic!

NSV: coming to this thread after treating myself poorly yesterday.... as opposed to just letting go completely of my planned food and such. You all are doing so great and are inspiring!!!

Me too! We had a Shakey's and it was where we always went after our middle school dances. So fun to think about that stuff.
