@pinkgurl the post by @ghudson92 below makes so much sense: And this was something I wrote on another thread back in Feb: Like others have said is not whether its vegan, vegatarian. pescatarian etc, its the number of calories. Good luck on your new direction and make it count. #Literally.

Amazeballs - You're kicking fat's a.s.s literally. Kudos

An apple crumble crepe, with one scoop of ice cream and chocolate sauce on the side.

Roast cauliflower & chickpea salad with lemon tahini dressing.

OP: For me, it's not a diet at all. I lost 70% of my overall weight loss to date (circa 30+ lbs) whilst eating meat. I then cycled between Pescatarian. Vegan, and Vegetarian. The amount I ate was the defining factor, not that I was a meat eater or not. So it always boiled down to calories in, calories out, irrespective if…

Ugh soz for the blurry image. Salmon Rice Bowl w/ avocado and a slice of lemon

Hmm I just checked on my Andriod and @malibu927 is right. I've always used the desktop for pics, so have never noticed. OP: You'll have to use your desktop to do it.

@suzfoley The scale is short sighted, stressful and not helpful in isolation. All methods are an indication you are going in the right direction. So one can include BMI, Scale, BF%, NSV's, pictures, measurements, strength, endurance, stamina etc if they're are all trending in the right direction then you're doing something…
-
@BeccaLoves2lift - The images and video, clearly demonstrate its not an exact science. Are you happy with how you look and feel? If so, whether you're 17%, 22.5% or somewhere in between doesn't really matter. I take your point tho, who knows. I've had some mad readings, as long its trending in the right direction then I'm…

@midwesterner85 I love this video because percentages look different on various frames. https://youtu.be/1oWcpweTuXs @suzfoley yer there is a female version https://builtlean.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/body-fat-percentage-women-1.jpg In general I think its so easy to get all twisted on the 'hey thats not X, Y or Z…

I much prefer body fat percentage goals, than scale weight goals. I'm currently 20.xx %, with an aim to be 14.xx % as a staging point. Past results got me to 17%. Having said that I do focus on how I look and feel, so whatever those numbers are when I'm happy that's exactly where I'll stay. At that point the number(s) are…

@ThinGoldLineNS - Apparently there's gluten free Seitan: https://happyherbivore.com/2014/03/gluten-free-seitan-recipe/ https://happyherbivore.com/2011/09/gluten-free-seitan/ I had no idea there was such a thing.

This made me smile because I agree with @Whitezombiegirl its a personal thing. OP: What could the mutual boss do anyway? This is a crazy idea, leave well alone. I'm sure your intentions are good, but its her body, her life, her methods. I know people who fast for far longer than that and feel great for it. I also know…
-
OP: To be honest, I'd compare body fat percentage over that period of time more than anything else. I learned the hard way, the scale is only one measure of progress. How do your clothes fit? Are you stronger aka can you lift way more than when you started? How do your photos compare? Have your measurements improved? Has…

Seitan?

In addition to @Tiny_Dancer_in_Pink suggestion, cycling keeps the weight off your knees and bizarrely skipping (jump rope) is another that doesn't pound your knee ligaments. Good luck.

In short yes. I do the same sometimes if I have a big weekend coming up. I tend to exercise a little more so I have even more cals to play with. I like to focus more on net weekly cals rather than a specific day. Quite frankly I can do without the daily head&^%k so net weekly cals it is. Good luck
-
Yep the food scale was a godsend.
-
I'm so glad to see your progress update here, well done and congratulations keep up the good work.
-
OP: If you want to give up, you'll give up - the NYT or other articles just make it more palatable for someone to do so. I agree that diets in the medium to long term do not work. I believe only lifestyle changes are sustainable irrespective of one's genetics. Having said that, we all know its not a one size fits all…

Buy a vegetarian / vegan recipe book and adapt the one's you like. Each recipe gives you a great base from which to start and will last for ages. I still reference my '1,000 vegan recipe' book and I adapt meals accordingly. Good luck.

2 lbs down - Woo and boy did I eat :) B)

What do you think your denying yourself off?

@angel4732 ^^ a hike eh ^^ but what happened here? ^^ OK, OK, OK, lets just do normal, noooooooo more normal

I'm the same.... next day increased hunger after lifting. The more intense the lifting session, the more hungry I am. If I just go through the motions, then it doesn't impact my hunger at all.
-
Hey I'm currently pescatarian. Good luck
-
Good luck... I may try IF again.
-
^^ This... Plus loads of people lose a few pounds and promptly give up, then they put it back on, plus more. If every time I noticed someone lost a pound and commented, I wouldn't have time for my day job. For me at least, I focus less on what people say and focus more on achieving my goals. I couldn't care less what…

Both... For me I like the variety and pushing boundaries.

I don't have a number, I do have a look and feel. Whenever I'm happy with my look and feel, that's where I'll stay.
