You're getting ready to head to college. The first/last step to being "a grownup" LOL. The core of being an actual adult is priorities and consequences. Figuring out what is important(actually) and what the consequences of taking or not taking an action are. So with very few exceptions, the answer to a "I can't" statement…

Honestly, for me, when travelling like that, I use sleep as a weapon. Can't eat if you're not awake and you use less energy.

A screenshot would be helpful. IF you exercise, those calories are added to your NEAT. Your food is subtracted from the total and your NET is any remaining. What you're describing may be a bug or just an interesting anomaly.

One day is one day. Overrestriction tends to lead to indulgence. If you know you're going to be out, you can plan in advance what you want to eat that fits within your calorie budget. There's absolutely nothing wrong with chips or subway, if you fit them in your budget. For that matter nothing wrong with ice cream either,…

I second this. You don't need to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars. And if you literally can't spare a nickel(and I've been there) The sidewalk is free. We're also about a week away from the beachbody resolutioners putting their gear on craigslist.

Set points are driven by habits and life patterns NOT by metabolic or biologic responses or hormones.

Pretty much stick with the packaging. If you're doing home made or cooked recipes, you'll need to use the recipe builder.

Yes, but the more you run, the less perceived effort you'll put out. At 230 lbs(my current weight) I can run 3 miles in about 35 minutes. I could run 3 miles in about the same time when I was at 245. It's a lot more fun today than it was 15 lbs ago. And as I get down in weight, it gets even more fun, and I get faster.
-
Yes, as you get better at running, you'll be able to do it faster, but that's not the same as changing the amount of calories burned. A hypothetical 180 lb 5 ft tall man will burn approximately the same calories when running a mile as a 180 lb 6 foot tall man. And yes this has been studied and tested extensively. Here's a…

May be, but I don't think anyone has ever accused this young lady of being bulky. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mari%C5%A1a_Golob

C25K is a 9 week running program designed to get you from a very low level to running 30+ minutes in 9 weeks. There's an app from zen labs or you can download a print copy to work from. It generally works better outside than on the treadmill.
-
You could also google the female 56 kg record holders and see how bulky they look.
-
NO, actually it won't. However, as you lose weight, you'll burn fewer calories going the same distance, and as you get more efficient, you'll be able to go farther in the same time, or do the same distance in less time(which results in greater calorie burns). But it really doesn't matter how often you run or what patterns…

Yes, it's intimidating, because for me at least, I've gotten comfortable with a weight and a routine and a pattern.

The cure for DOMS is hair of the dog. IOW, take a day of rest and do the session again. The longer you draw out the adaptation, the longer it will take. There's NOTHING wrong with working out with DOMS. As long as you're properly programming rest sessions and days, and performing your exercises with proper form. The…

I love how these threads summon the woonatics who insist that the information is out there if you'd just do your own research and then they fade back into the woodwork having never provided a single supporting link or document. I much prefer the Mercolites and the Fungsciples, because at least they will provide links. even…

That's because while overeating CAN be a sign of an ED it isn't necessarily so. For that matter Binge eating patterns aren't inherently an indicator of an ED absent the triggering and cuing components.

It happens. Don't apologize. No need to delete either. We're all here for support of some sort.

DOH!

Ultimately, you need to learn(and it seems like you're making a good effort) to set different sorts of goals. But they ought to be specific. Instead of the all or nothing running, yoga, etc. Set aside a timeframe and a goal and stick with it. And budget time for that goal. Meaning, you only get 30/60/90 minutes a day or…

It would eliminate the possibility that the cholesterol is diet related. It's extreme no doubt, but also effective. It's not necessarily the first thing I would suggest. Because you still need fat in your diet so you would swap for plant and fish based protein and fat sources.

For the most part, there's no such thing as "bad chemicals" in food. In other words, don't believe the hype. If Mio works for you and doesn't aggravate your condition keep using it.
-
The study linked on the mega thread https://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1077746/starvation-mode-adaptive-thermogenesis-and-weight-loss/p1 Suggests 10-15% variance.

Mio aggravates my reflux. The crystal lite tubes don't. Not sure if that's going to impact your condition one way or the other, but it's worth considering. Also, the crystal lite tubes usually are good for 1-1.5 liters as they're fairly potent. even though they're "recommended" for 16 oz.

If you're using a good step tracker, you can eat those calories back. That being said, 120 calories may be a little or a lot for you. For me(5'11" 235ish), It's not much and 100-200 calories variance is just noise in my day. For a 140 lb 5'6" female it may be worth eating. I don't know your stats so you'll have to be the…

I sometimes get squeaky Colon from eating too much broccoli and Sausage.

So your two weeks is just about over.

Woo basically means nonsense, generally of the woo woo as seen on tv infomercial variety, Also found from Dr Oz and others. Stuff like take this pill and eat whatever you want and you'll lose 30 lbs in 30 days with no side effects. Obviously it's usually a bit more subtle.
