Went away for the weekend and am so behind in posts! Congrats and hugs to all for races, injuries. Biltmore was fantastic! The NC mountains are something else. We hiked in Pisgah National Forest and on the Biltmore Estate itself. Breathtaking. And Downton Abbey was quite impressive :) Didn't run but did get those couple…

Ditto. Don't put any pressure on yourself, and try to just go out and enjoy it!

Hello all.. After the hilly 8k last weekend, I decided, despite not liking it, I need more hill work (who actually likes hills? lol), So today I did hill repeats. Ran about 1.5 first, then found a hill about - not hard to do in Raleigh, ha. Did about 6 repeats, then ran home. Felt pretty good. Might have to keep this in…

I lost my mum as well it will be 10 years in Sept, but man sometimes it feels like yesterday. That time of year is generally bad…

Morning everyone! @eleanorhawkins so very sorry. Tragic and heartbreaking. Race Report.. Had my first race this year yesterday. It was 8K/5mile. Picked up my packet on Friday, which was good because it allowed me to sleep in on race day. The race itself wasn’t until 11am. Actually was one of the more relaxed I’ve been,…

Missed a few days here. Did read up, and agreed some of the stories of perseverance and strength from trauma is inspiring. Thank you for sharing. @katharmonic - Condolences. So sad, and indeed puts things in perspective. @Camaramandy648 Congrats on the pup! Such a handsome dog, and the reaction from the kids is priceless.…

Hi! dropping by because lasagna. So, yes, I made it in the instant pot, and it was great! If you have a 6 quart one, you will need a 7 x 3' round cake or spring form pan ( I used a spring form, but did wrap foil around the bottom because it will leak a bit). And the trivet thing that came with pot - or a sling if you have…

Happy New Year! 7.82 miles to start the year! I was only planning 10k, but I was feeling good, so I decided to just do another loop. I ran at the park today which has 1.97 mile loop around the lake. So I ended up doing 4 laps. But man was it crowded. I run this park a lot, and usually it’s ok, but a lot of weaving today…

I too would recommend getting fitted at a running store. I’ve tried on so many different type and can really tell a difference. The great thing about ruining stores (I go to Fleet Feet) is there return policy..90 days! Has come in handy when I bought a pair that I thought felt great I store but after a couple of runs, they…

@7lenny7 Welcome back! Missed you around here. You did accomplish quite a bit. Between you and @katharmonic and @AlphaHowls and @PastorVincent and the rest of the crew here, fabulous running! My goals are simple: maintain current weight, run few races, including 1 or 2 HM, stay healthy and injury free. I’d like to set some…
