  • YES! This. I bought a new PJs (shorts/tank top) in a size medium... I was sure I was too big for them, they fit. Needed new underwear, got a pack of cotton whatever pack from Wal-mart (gym undies!), debated on what size to get, almost got the bigger size, by my mom talked me out of it, so I got the smaller size, and they…
  • One day, after I get a breast reduction, I'll be able to wear VS bras!! You'd think with weight loss, I'd lose breast mass also... yeah, not so much!! (Newest bra purchased-34i... yep, I have to go to a specialty shop still).--maybe TMI?
  • Height: 5'4" Age: 34 (till Feb 12th) HW: 313 Surg Weight: 264 SD: 5/16/17 CW: 176 GW: #1-160, maybe less... I'll see how I feel when I get there. ;) Add me if you'd like. I only worry on my protein, making sure I get over 60 grams a day. I stay away from simple carbs (bread, pasta, rice, sugar, candy)...
  • Went Black Friday Shopping... and bought a new sweater jacket thing... from THE GIRLS SECTION... not the juniors section... the GIRLS. little girls size XL. and it fits PERFECTLY!! ;) Also got a size small red dress for my hubs work Christmas party. (please ignore my stupid face.)
  • I will be eating some green bean casserole! :D The bite I worry on... cranberry sauce/rolls.... I can give/take the rolls... but cranberry is THANKSGIVING! :dizzy: I am sad on not drinking cranberry wine with my meal....
  • For those saying "pumpkin pie".... OMG... this!! Just the insides... :) https://www.bariatriceating.com/2015/10/no-pie-pumpkin-pie/ I made the recipe with the 2% evaporated milk and pumpkin pie spice instead of the separate spices... it ended up being 77 calories for 1/8 of the pie. (2g fat, 10 carbs-7g sugar, 5 g…
  • My 'rule' they gave me is 15/45, and it's forever. After you eat, you don't want to drink too soon, or you'll 'wash' the food out of your stomach, since you no longer have the pyloric muscle at the base of your stomach to hold the food in. Start by setting a timer on your phone, after your last bite, hit the timer,…
  • Dumb hiatal hernias! (Thankfully mine was small enough, he didn't have to repair it, surgeon said it would cause more pain to repair, and since I did RNY, I'd not have reflux anymore) Glad to see you get to start soft foods!! Hope that helps you feel better and stronger!! And YAY FOR being OFF OF diabetes meds!!!!
  • If I read right, today you go back! and you get to see your doctor, and start foods! :D (pureed or soft, depending on your program). Hope you are doing good still! :D I found that taking my pills on an empty stomach makes my belly hurt something fierce for a while... 30-45 minutes, then it passes. SO I take with food. :)…

  • I am so glad I never had to crush my meds! They gave me pills in the hospital. :) (my Zoloft, and Protonix) I did have the chew-able vitamins, that were awful. :(
  • Happy anniversary!!! I so very much LOVE seeing all the success from other group members in the long run!! :) One day, I'll be there!! :) You look fantastic!
  • We had my son's 16th birthday party, a BBQ in our backyard, with family and friends... and we have those plastic outside chairs... I fit in them, without my hips touching the sides AT ALL. I know last year, if I sat in them, when I would get up, I'd have to pry myself out of them. Something like this! :D
  • I went with the gastric bypass, the main reason, was because I had terrible GERD and a hiatal hernia. I know that the sleeve can cause GERD to get worse, not with everyone, but I was sure I'd be one of them, and I knew that insurance wouldnt pay for the revision from the sleeve to RNY bypass. Then there is the fact that I…
  • Here is a question/answers about lax skin after cool sculpting... https://www.realself.com/question/zeltiq-address-skin-laxity-banana-rolls-skin-fat
  • I'm curious if it would even be able to help saggy skin. It gets rid of the fat under the skin, and if your skin is elastic enough, it may go snap back. I'm doubting it would in a formally obese patient, snap back. I know my skin was stretched, and my 'bat wings' are growing, as my arms lose the extra fat. I think the only…
  • I had to move the car seat forward to drive. I could no longer reach the pedals where it was at. I blame my losing my behind too!
  • I think you have to do it from a computer, not your phone.
  • Hi! I try to be active, but mostly just read for the hints/encouragements/other's questions/comments. :) -I am 9 weeks post op as of yesterday, lost a total of 80 pounds so far, 50 pre-op, and 30 post-op. In my opinion, my weight loss is going good. :) My body is changing so much, and I realized, I lost my double chin.…
  • My team told me I choose. So, first goal is 160, to see how I feel look there... If I'm good, I'll call it goal... If not, I'll see where I feel good at. :)
  • I bought a super cute shirt off line (from Torrid), in a size 1... I was in a 3 pushing 4.... I bought it in a 1, which should be too small, & I could fit later, got the shirt && it fits now! :). So awesome.
  • I was just told today, (six week post-op appt.) not to worry on the calories, as long as I am focusing on getting my protein in.
  • I had RnY on 5/16. Married for 10 years this year, have a 15 y/o son from a previous relationship, and my hubby brought my two bonus kids (22-son, 20-daughter) with him. 20 got married last summer, and is expecting a baby boy this August. :) Feel free to add me! :)
  • Thanks!! I'll get a squeeze bottle, and see if it helps. :) I know I need to keep myself hydrated, I definitely dont want to become dehydrated.
  • I chose to go with the bypass. Here are the reasons: 1. I had a hiatal hernia, and gastric reflux prior to surgery, 2. there is a chance with VSG you get reflux, and I didnt need any worse than I already had, 3. If I did go with VSG, and the reflux was worse, insurance would not pay for a revision to RNY bypass. So, I…
  • With high fat, is be worried about dumping.... I've never experienced it (2 weeks post-op now) & hope to never experience it! I know my dietician said to set my macro goals at 50% protein, 30% fat, and 20% carbs.
  • Yay!!!! You are getting close!!! I'm 3 days post op now. No pain meds since yesterday. It is awesome!
  • I currently have a hiatal hernia, and GERD, discussed this with my surgeon and opted for the RNY because of the possibility of worsening heartburn/GERD after VSG, and insurance would most likely not pay for the second surgery. I don't need worse GERD. He did say, that when he fixes the HH next week, and does the RNY, I…
  • @ppmintpatty my nutritionist said 30 grams for the max your body can absorb at a time. With a goal of 60 grams per day. It is weird they all (surgery offices/nutritionists) say different things!
  • I have these, https://www.nascobal.com/hcp/bariactiv-supplements my nutritionist sent the information into them, and for a $25 copay/month, I get all the vitamins and the B12 intranasal auto-shipped. This is most likely the only way i'd remember to take my vitamins. The OTC option they have listed out is: Centrum Adult (2…
