Is a nurse (senior's residence) sedentary, lightly active or active? I.e. I log on average 10kms a shift - will that count as exercise or lifestyle?

I'll do it. It's kind of my goal anyway. I also joined the runner's world streak challenge - which is to run at least a mile a day every day until the new year

Fitbit flex. 24,000 today and I haven't gone to work yet (which usually adds 10-12000). But it was also long run day.

Yes, I think you can depending on where you're starting from.

Kind of on topic off topic - when you're logging "quaker oats" and it gives you a caloric value - is that cooked or dry?

I'm really sorry you're going through what you are. Emotional eating doesn't help the emotions but it is self medicating. To self medicate my depression, I chose food and alcohol. DIdn't make things better. I just became a fat lady with a suicide plan and a taste for excellent wine. What did [help] was the support of my…

I, personally, am back on the running wagon after a year off and a 20+ lb weight gain. I run because I love it. Do about 60-75 minutes every other day but because I am trying to lose weight and not just keep my heart strong, I am careful to fuel myself in a calorie deficit situation. Good foods like oatmeal are filling and…

I don't really subscribe to that adage that of you eat under your basal caloric need your body got into fight or flight mode and you hold or gain weight. My reasoning for this is if you look at POW's (generally any, but WWII is a good example) were often given >500 calories a day and none of them came out of incarceration…

Okay so I haven't eaten enough to compensate for my long run day then. Okie thanks

Sounds like you work out a lot - muscle is quite dense at 5'5 - 125 would be very thin for you, but if you want to get there, then consider a change of eating habits - I can't speak to what you are eating now, but obviously if you want to lose weight, then it's numbers in numbers out. Lose 1750 calories / week from what…

HI. I'm new here and I have no-one as well. I had a bad year - depression, divorce plus single parenting 2 kids and going to school full time and working FT - - gained 19 lbs in 12 months. A couple weeks ago I looked at myself in the mirror and decided that I wasn't happy with how I looked or felt so I joined MFP and have…

Hey, all. I just started on the MyFItnessPal 4 days ago. It's been a hellacious year and I've gained 19 lbs from exactly this day last year and 25 in total from 2 years ago. Not making excuses for it, but I've been busy and depressed and pizza seems easier than cooking and ... you know the drill. I have been diligently…
