As everyone has mentioned before, try your hand at making your own version of the junk food you love: you can control the portion, oil, sauce and ingredients to fit it into your daily meal plan! Burrito bowls are a personal favorite: lean ground beef, tomatoes (can be canned), red and yellow peppers, onion, corn, beans and…

Any weightlifting leg exercise for glutes, hamstrings, abductors, adductors, etc will help build muscle. This muscle in turn creates a sort of 'net' that can lessen the appearance of cellulite. Building muscle also burns fat which can also diminish cellulite. Personal favorites: weighted squats, deadlifts, romanian…

Hello all, just back from four very busy months with practically no training and absent eating. Ready to get back into the groove! I don't own a scale, I just go by my appearance and measurements but I'd say I have 9 pounds to loose (I'm 5'7). I plan on just getting back to a consistent routine (HIIT x2, weightlifting x3…

I just found your post, you look awesome! Can really see the hard work

I've always kept track of my measurements (chest, waist, hips and thigh) to check for progress or maintenance. So much more reliable (and healthier for my personal mindset) than the scale!

Studies suggest any time of moderate exercise for 30 minutes a day is what an average person needs to stay healthy. From there onwards, it really depends on your fitness and physique goals. I go to the gym as I live in a big capital and this is the easiest/cheapest sport to practice for me. It was not my favorite sports…

I've actually bought one for my mom too for Christmas! Will try it myself of course ;) but I've heard very varied opinions about these scales.. How do you like yours? I also go the old fashioned way and will sometimes tape measure around my body and take progress pics. These are the best at-home progress parameters in my…

As another user said, you have to care for yourself, appreciate your body which carries you everyday and give yourself some self-love. We constantly and subconsciously criticize ourselves by comparing us to others or reminiscing on our flaws, when we should be making an active effort to tell ourselves at least once a day…

As mentioned, cook veggies like Italians cook their pasta: "al dente", still crunchy and retaining their greenness. Baking and steaming are my favorites. Roasting certain vegetables like Brussel sprouts, onions, carrots and fennel with a bit of olive oil will make them caramelize on the first layers, simply delicious! Or…

I live in France so when any recipe calls for canned pumpkin or pumpkin spice mix, I'll roast and puree my own pumpkins and create a similar spice blend. When you ask for recipes with none of these options, do you mean you don't want recipes with this spices either? Below are some pumpkin recipes in different styles, more…

I believe in taking only what you really need; if not as @NorthCascades says, it's just expensive pee. I take vitamin C in the winter months when I'm periodically getting colds, and a hair multivitamin during the season change (Aug-October). Protein powder in on days I've trained and am not getting enough protein in.

Hello again!! I hadn't seen all these new posts! At least "relatively" new (as well as new members) I'm glad to see we're all still trying to some degree. September was my holiday month and I didn't stretch but I feel I haven't lost that much since my last update. This week I went to a circus to try my first acrobatics…

Just find a challenge that you'd want to participate in in the Challenges section of the main forum. The first/original poster (OG) will have usually lain down the basic instructions for the challenge. Then you just comment you'll join and whatever info is required and that's it! Follow the group to get updates and…

I'm also loosely logging to stay on track but am not really aiming at losing more..I guess I'm inadvertly doing a recomp! I started on MFP to lose weight but slowly switched to improving my fitness level and flexibility. This in turn has changed how I look and I've lost fat and gained muscle progressively in about the last…

Yes unfortunately the answer is correct nutrition and patience. Working out will make everything tighter so as you lose fat, that area will appear more aesthetically pleasing to your eye. Also waist trimmers are the modern-day corsets, if you cramp your body into one it will eventually have that shape for awhile..but as…

I generally pack a lot of snacks in smaller portions to try to get me through my workday and chewing gum is always a great way to keep your mouth busy! As another user said, being busy is the best way to forget about munching on something. There are a couple of studies that suggest that eating a handful ~30g of blanched…

As a lot of fitness enthusiasts say, try to eat 80% healthy, 20% treats. This way, you don't even have to use the concept of a "cheat day" which can easily turn into a cheat week or more as it feels sort of restrictive. I eat healthy most of the time but have treats here and there and they end up working into my lifestyle…

If you're not sure what has triggered this phase of binge eating, like others have said, take a step back and analyze your behavior, recent events and your emotions. For me this is the hardest part, as it usually means coming to terms with something you're trying to evade. Food restriction is usually a big cause too - the…

Very impressive, congratulations on your hard work! Such a great, healthy change!!

Congratulations!! Very impressive hard work, now time to show off!

That position is looking good @mbaker566 ! After seeing all of these pictures I was inspired to find a class of something like this and I found a 'circus' school in the outskirts of Paris. So I'll drop by and see what courses they offer, hopefully not to expensive, but being Paris it's a lost cause.. As for stretching,…

I know this may sound weird, but I've used it to make a creamy, mayo-like salad dressing with great results. It just lends itself to make a luscious white sauce for a special salad either with eggs, or chicken and croutons, prawns and avocado, etc...mix the seasonings + tofu in a small bowl (mustard, honey, dill, Rosemary,…

Hi @wellnesschaser ! I'm an hourglass shape and like dresses that cinch at my waist, sometimes with flowy skirts, other with shapely bottom to shape the booty. I think halter tops make my shoulders look a bit wide. Strapless or deep v-necks are my favorite. I love light materials for summer that float around you, or satin…

Yep, there's progress alright @mbaker566. Especially the side you're less flexible on the progress looks more obvious to me. I've been stalling a bit on improvements but I'm sure it's due to the decrease in the days per week I've been stretching. At least this has been good for my pulled hammie to recover as it's now way…

Hi girls! I'm 26, 175 cm (or 5'7) and have lost around 5-6 kgs (11 pounds). I've slowly changed my goals from purely weight loss to improving my fitness levels, which has resulted in progressive muscle gain and fat loss. I try to log consistently but of course the weekends I tend to go off a bit -hey, life goes on! Feel…

As a lot of the other users said, I recommend setting a reasonable goal in MFP that will allow you to have treats while eating mostly healthy (volume) food. Even try to just track what you eat for a week with NO restrictions, eating whatever you feel like eating. Even though this might sound counterintuitive, it's the…

If I know I'm eating out, I like to reserve my fats for that lunch/dinner so I'll make a high protein low fat waffle for breakfast and usually pair it with a piece of fruit: 1 scoop protein powder 1 egg 2 TB or 50 grams low/non fat creamy yoghurt 1 tsp baking powder and a pinch of salt I use a silicone mold 10-12 mins in a…

Finally had time (and no people next to me) to film progress pics! My left stretches are a bit behind due to having slightly pulled my hamstring. Forward bend with rounded back used to be my favorite but now it's painful so there's not much progress there. I do feel like figure 2 on my right side is way better even if in…

I used to but jeans at H&M as they have a really nice fit, until a pair I particularly liked ripped in the booty! Thankfully I was walking the dog with my boyfriend in a lonely suburb... We made all kinds of jokes and I guess that means I've been properly working it, but just something to be aware of if your booty is tight…
