Spent a year in Korea and while not LC at that time, tried lots of convenience store food like this (and squid jerky), none were my cup of tea. Unfortunately the only convenience store food that I did find a liking for was soju...Korean everclear that sold for about $1.50 in a liter bottle. I wasn't a heavy drinker, but…

Lilith...I am missing my beloved FL, my winter home. I am in KS right now. Discovered two days ago that my propane tank is empty (I am a full time RV'r) because I must have nudged one of my stove knobs out of the "off" position when cleaning. I never use my stove as I use a 2-burner induction cooktop for most everything.…

OMG @Sunny_Bunny_ ...do you know how cool it would be to have a fellow LC'r randomly show up for dinner?! If anyone does live near Manhattan, KS...please let me know...you are invited.

You are so brave! Your pics actually look a lot like my progress...I just don't do pics. Congratulations on your progress and on your willingness to share with the world! You are truly an inspiration.

[quote="gregpesot;38282414Just can't see myself not eating and drinking some things??? Pizza? Beer? Bagels?[/quote] Wine is the only thing I cannot give up. I drink a couple of glasses of chianti every night. If I still lived in a sticks & bricks house with a garden tub...I could trade out the wine for a nightly soak, but…

Haha...I just got an email from an old boyfriend who I communicate with often. I had mentioned, in passing, some conflict with my brother in law. I used the acronym BIL and somehow this got misinterpreted as conflict with my brother, "Bill". While "Bill" is not my brother in law's name, I appreciate the humor in the…

Good job @Karlottap  I can't wait to get to a maintenance point...the ONLY thing I really miss while doing keto is refried beans!

I deleted my post as I realized it was insensitive to many. For those who did read, I apologize...my initial post was very narrow minded.

I have not done this but am interested in learning more. I have access to pubmed and other medical literature resource sites but would like to hear more anecdotal info from those who use.

I have an advanced degree but I appreciate articles like this so much! This one describes processes in a way that can be visualized. I am a visual and hands-on learner so I love this approach to learning new things. I don't know if I really learned anything I didn't know before, but I have a whole new framework to describe…

@hookilau ...wow! you have made incredible progress and could "school" us all on what to do. It does appear that you are at a point where CICO combined with LCHF may be the turning point to shedding those last few pounds. Keep us posted as to how you are doing...I think we can learn a lot from your journey.

Oh doh! completely missed the mapmywalk reference!

Sorry no pic...I gobbled it up too fast! I only cooked two thighs and guessed at the proportions, but it was delicious! I do soak my chicken in a salt brine for 24 hrs prior...do this for all chicken dishes. DANA'S PARMESAN DEVILED CHICKEN 1 tablespoon oil 1 clove garlic, minced 1/4 cup spicy brown or Dijon mustard * 2…

Thx...just downloaded so I have no opinion to like or not like. That will take at least a week. But I appreciate having another option. Thx for sharing!

Share specifics please...this sounds awesome!

This is really an individual need. If you want the most honest data, be really honest about whether you are sedentary. If you need that extra "kick in the pants", yep set that sucker at sedentary but understand that by looking at that criteria may be akin to CICO thinking. Could you give more information about your…

Prevention is truly a double edged sword for those of us who are/were health care providers. There is such a belief in the inevitability of disease and need for meds that preventive care is largely ignored or straight out pooh-poohed by our patients. I WAS one of the rare practitioners who practiced preventive medicine,…

Me too...most days <5 gr but if I go over I don't stress. I don't think I ever go over 20 net.

Love your post! I will add to the favorite things list. I am a full-time RV'r and hated cooking with the gas stove (I also have a combo convection oven/microwave). For my birthday in Jun, I bought myself a 2-burner induction cooktop and a Magma nesting cookware set plus an induction water kettle. I previously owned the…

Could you share the reference? I would like to read that.

Excellent article...thx for sharing.

Make my own...I looked at lots of keto and paleo sites for inspiration. I don't know if I ever really make it the same way twice because I have adopted my grandmother's way of never measuring. She always amazed me and I am trying hard to adopt some of those same skills.

As a side note...my boy, Furby, should have been about 9-10 lbs as an adult. This is based upon both info provided by the breeder about his parents (I did see both parents...mom was 9 lbs, dad was 8 lbs). and dog weight calculators. EVERY calculator predicted an adult weight of approx 9 lbs. Zuchons are not part of the…

My baby "Furby". First pic is from Mar when I got him (that is when I lost Ollie, my hairy hairless Chinese Crested, to a traumatic disc rupture). I thought I would never be able to love a dog as much as I loved Ollie, but Furby has stolen my heart. I also have two cats that I love. My boy get Freshpet so low carb.

Interesting notes to read about DE. I have a big container of it that I used during warmer months as a wormer & flea control product in my pets. I had started using it myself but kinda forgot about it as the weather got cooler and I stopped using so regularly for my pets. I'm gonna have to start putting it in my BPC in the…

I love most veggies but was struggling to find a way to work my nemesis, cauliflower into the mix. I had tried riced, mashed, scalloped and several other ways, but never liked (abhor it raw). I finally tried Cheesy Cauliflower Puree on the IBIH website and love, love, love it. The mistake I had made in the past was…

OOOHHHH...I can see a pork rind recipe thread in our future...just sayin... <suggests>

Everyone's specific needs will be different. For me, fish oil, L-theanine, 5-HTP and electrolytes are my MOST important. If I happen to remember to take anything else...yay! If I didn't have my "happy light" during the short winter days, I am sure I would need Vit D (and probably some other meds that could not be…

My folks and I will be traveling long distance tomorrow to visit a family member who is incarcerated. We decided not to mess with prepping a feast as there are only a few family members close by to join. We will be having dinner at Applebees...one of the few places actually open today. So my thanksgiving meal will be a 6…
