The Keto WOE keeps me so full that I am usually way under my calorie goal. Lately this has been a bit of a problem for me. I have been doing alternate day eating but think I will switch to once a day meals as trying to get in more than one meal on my eating days has been challenging lately. The LCHF woe just makes me so…

@MKknits & @KnitOrMiss I am assuming the "eye twitch" you refer to is more precisely "eyelid twitch". If so, the only medical association is stress. The stress can be physical (which could certainly include dietary issues), mental or emotional. Look at all possible triggers. Sorry I can't be of more help on the heartburn…

I add an extra tablespoon of olive oil to salads with existing salad dressing. When I have a cooked veggie I add a pat of butter. I'm starting to marinade meats in oil before cooking. We add blue cheese dressing to grilled chicken. There is a yummy horseradish mayo that is great on steaks. I cook mushrooms and onions in…

Yep, which is why ATP4 does NOT recommend treat to target LDL-C goals; yet clinicians who are not up to dare still treat to target anyways because they can use "clinical judgment". Did anyone even read the guidelines & analyze the changes? They are actually a lot less rigid & by the #s only. This was actually changed right…

This is an old NSV that happened years ago, but I hope it will serve as inspiration/motivation for those new to the WOE. Before going LC, I HAD to brush my teeth at least 3 times a day. So I was always very particular about oral hygiene...mostly because as it seemed that as soon as a patient was put behind optometric…

I did the same thing...anything that was unopened went to the food pantry (and I do have some guilt about passing on what I perceive as poison to someone else, but many families do rely on rice, beans & pasta as staples in their diets). Opened foods got dumped. Best decision ever...made the transition so easy as there were…

Sorry you're going thru a rough patch. Take care of yourself and your boy. You'll get back on track.

I take fish oil as an anti-inflammatory. To get a truly therapeutic dose >3600 mg of Omega-3, I take enough fish oil to add up to 10 of my daily fat grams.

Boobs fit in bra again. No more cups floweth over syndrome!

@sacoriah Have you looked at the website http://www.navy-prt.com/ ?? Lots of good info. I am retired USAF. Find a support group here on the forums. There was a post just the other day from a young lady ( @adorkable244 )looking to join the Army...maybe you can "buddy up".

Hahaha...sister shared this with me today...from the UNILAD tech FB page... Too cloudy to see the Supermoon tonight? Simply place a tortilla wrap on your window for that authentic experience...

y You will...you are already acknowledging what you need to do and I am certain you will do it. You deserve the best treatment...treat yourself that way! Get a day/night or two (or three) of rest then get back and hit it!

Yep...as kids, that was our candy...but we did dip the stalks in sugar. As a skinny kid I could afford to do that...no more. Years since I have eaten raw rhubarb. :( I've never tried it with salt...that sounds interesting...I must try.

I use the VA in Topeka, KS and they are awesome. When I was active duty, because I was both a commander and a health care provider I had a good relationship with the mental health team (I was there often to deal with troops who were Baker acted, to sort out my role as a commander, to deal with losses within the unit, and…

@KnitOrMiss Thank you for the affirmation. I know how hard it was for people serving in the armed forces to seek mental health care. Access was never the issue...stigma was. I am certain this translates to the civilian sector. Mental health care is just that...mental health care...sometimes talk therapy works, sometimes…

Hey Simmalina...beans were my nemesis. I loved refried beans, chick peas in salad & any kind of beans in soup. Also love peas (I still miss me my green peas). Go to some good websites to learn more...here are a couple and everyone here is so supportive that you will probably have more recommended sites than you ever…

Yup...this...physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually... "There is no such thing as the perfect weight, just perfect health."

I LOVE crab cakes (and sauteed asparagus) but still trying to perfect my cakes. Will you share your recipe?

Here's the link to a wiki page on the movie Idiocracy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Idiocracy It is available to rent for $2.99 from Amazon, VUDU, Google Play & probably other places that don't show up on my streaming device. Don't waste your $2.99...wait until you can see it for free. If you see it offered free,…

Here are some pics of my motivation. I lost Oliver, my precious 4-yr old hairy hairless Chinese Crested earlier this year. He was my walking buddy, my kayaking buddy, my geocaching buddy...he ruptured a disc in his back and it ruptured so explosively that it destroyed his spinal cord. I had him to a neurosurgeon vet within…

You are too funny!

I rarely have a problem with protein but if I need to balance things out a 3.5 oz packet (or two) of tuna always does the trick for me. Not sure how vegetarian/vegan low-carbers aproach this but I would sure like to hear from them to learn more.

This is going to sound really harsh, but is the reason he tries to fudge his results is so the doc won't fuss at him or because he can be happily oblivious of his true status. I know this is hard to hear but I will repeat...education/knowledge are key. Fudging on tests is often what leads health care providers to making…

Gosh! I guess I should have done a search. I was just so excited about learning about this that I had to post. If my post served as a reminder, I guess it doesn't hurt...especially for those of us new to the group. Thanks for the link to the thread...I am reading every single post to learn all I can.

Happy belated birthday! Glad that a little indulgence was just that...a little indulgence, then back to business. Congrats and thanks for sharing a very healthy attitude with us!
