Mine definitely doesn't give me that burst of energy. But that could also be because I am in law school . . . I would ask your doctor, it might not be reacting right in your body yet.

It honestly depends on the body of the person doing it. I have clients who could easily burn 100 calories doing that due to their higher weight.
