I'm 1.6 lbs away from a 50lb loss ๐ What's working for me today is looking at photos from last year and comparing them to now.

I'm 5ft 7 and currently 184lbs ( I am 20yrs oder than you though ๐ต ) I clock in around 10 - 15000 steps a day and eat around 1800 calories a day - that's with playing around with calories - keeping them lowish midweek so I can have days off at weekends. When I'm consistent I lose around 1 / 1.5 lbs per week.

I just Googled 'Food Deserts in the US ' Wow! This is a real eye opener - I had no idea. ๐

I love to have everything de cluttered and in order ๐ I'm a firm believer if if you don't use it get rid of it. I hold no attachments to stuff other than a few bits like photos etc .. There is no better feeling than a clean tidy home! I just wish I was as good at de cluttering the rest of my life ๐

I know that if pizza is in front of me I'm going to eat it. Not one or two slices - all of it! I try to avoid it as much as possible - but if it happens it happens - I enjoy it, log it and move on.

Keto works If you have a calorie deficit. I don't do keto and probably never will because it's too restrictive and let's face it carbs are delicious ๐ But I do try to limit processed carbs as much as I can - because they are high in calories, easy to overeat and do not satiate me. I have most weekends off plan and I oftenโฆ

Omg I want that now ๐คค

I can imagine how difficult it must be to feed a family on very low wages. I agree that's where unhealthy 'ready' food works out a lot cheaper

I think it depends on where you live. I'm not sure what supermarkets are like in the States but in the UK you can go to a budget supermarket and buy single vegetables for pennies and bags of frozen vegetables are less than a pound and often less than 50p You can stock up on cheap staples there too like olive oil, spices,โฆ

What a great thread ๐ I can relate to a lot of what's already been said - but the biggest one for me is how much lighter I feel in general - I recently did a 20 mile bike ride that I remember doing at 232lbs tgat nearly killed me - now at nearly 50lbs lighter it was so easy!
-
Hey ๐ I'm 5ft 7 - but I don't think weight loss has anything to do with height - though I can't help but think if I was over 6ft at 185lbs I'd be the perfect weight now ๐คฃ I still have another 31lbs to lose to my first goal of 154lbs.

I think it depends on what type of healthy eating you're doing. If you're the type of person that goes to a budget supermarket where a large ready made pizza is ยฃ1 and a large packet of chocolates is 50p Then healthy eating can appear more expensive. Often people don't know how to cook and budget and use that same ยฃ1.50 onโฆ

I'm taking my bike out today - it will be a round trip of 20 miles. With some walking / shopping in-between ๐

I have around 1400 - 1600 cals Monday to Sunday which gives me extra calories to have meals / drinks "off plan" Friday and Saturday. I don't have an exercise plan - I'm fairly active and average around 1500 steps a day and enjoy occasional cycling.

46lbs down 30 to go - I want to rea ch my goal before my 47th birthday next year ๐

I'm 4 lbs away from a 50 lb loss I'd like to be there by the end of October ๐
-
I'm down 46lbs but I still have 30lbs to go - so I'm not posting pics till then ๐ What works for me is counting calories and IF Sunday - Monday I usually go off plan Friday and Saturday. I feel that this is sustainable long term for me and is realistic for maintenance. My weight loss has been slow and I haven't always beenโฆ
-
Absolutely! Exercising in a gym is not fun for me so not sustainable in the long run - I much prefer outside activities I enjoy to burn a few calories. And 'Diet food' Urgh! Just no If I had to live on chicken and broccoli or some depressing carbless, fatless eliminating food groups diet - I would ultimately fail. It's funโฆ

My NSV today is that all of my clothes are far too big. Everything down to my underwear ๐ It's getting expensive! I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new wardrobe because I'm not at goal yet. I might have a look around the charity shops this weekend to see if I can find some smaller bargains ๐

My pet hate is all the other people there- if I could have the place to myself I'd go all the time ๐
An ancient joke: How do you make a woman become invisible? Make her 100 pounds heavier.
So true! I've been 130 lbs and 230lbs - at 230lbs no one could see me.

Cycling, walking, dancing, yoga. Anything not in a gym.
