Same. I'm up super early thinking "maybe I'll go to the gym," then I have my coffee and if I'm lucky, 15 minutes of morning Yoga. But I go to the gym immediately after work to be sure I get there.

Last night's dinner was a huge salad with carnitas on top, mango salsa and raspberry balsamic vinegar. Today's breakfast was buckwheat groats made with cashew milk, homemade yogurt, and turbo chocolate protein powder. I do most of my cooking in an instant pot and air fryer.

Good morning. Really hot, really humid. Carpe diem.

My off days are no gym work out and no running or cardio/peak zone exercise. I walk my dog a few times a day and may or may not do an at-home Yoga session.

56 and bat wings too (they're in my current profile pic) but I do believe they look much better since I started lifting a few months ago. We will never look 28 again, but we can look the best we can at our current ages. That's my goal.

"Grumpy old men" in passing lane? :)

@sorrell76 I'm eating on average between 1400-1500 on days that I work out. The other days I'm between 1200-1300. But weekends I'm up near 1800 regularly. It's a bit of a lack of discipline on weekends, although they're not usually full-on pigouts. I look at my macros, sodium and sugar. My fat consumption on a daily basis…

Same boat as you, nearly same stats, but I'm 56 years old. I find WW severely lacking when it comes to Lifetimers. I switched to calorie counting, and if I ate the 1700 daily, I know I would gain weight--in spite of my regular workout routine, including running. My 23 WW points can range, like yours, from under 1200 to…

Keep right except to pass. I don't give a doo doo what the speed limit is. If you're not passing, get out of the passing lane. They need to really teach that one over and over in drivers ed.

Happy Monday! Thank goodness the weekend is over (never said that before). Running in hot, oppressive NJ was not enjoyable, but the deed was done. Looks like it was busy here this weekend, welcome all new people--especially the one from NJ :) Carpe diem!

I started at Planet Fitness, but after around a year, I got bored there. That's not their fault, but I found I needed more options for cardio. I joined a gym with a lot of different classes and a lot more bells and whistles for a bit more money than PF. I love this gym. There are out-of-shape and super-fit people there and…

I was in horrible shape in my 40s, so I'm one of those in beast mode at 56. Most days I do cardio--twice a week running--and lifting 3 days a week. I also do a lot of backpacking trips that are fairly rigorous (Mt. Everest Base Camp trek, Patagonia, etc.). Recognizing I'm usually one of the older women in the gym and…

Glad it's Friday. Lifting, cardio, and ending with Yoga tonight. Best hours of the week. Carpe diem!

Thank you! Mandeebear the Yorkie is fine--I spent $304 to find out she's a princess who probably just doesn't like the NJ heat and humidity anymore.

97 pounds off at WW and Lifetime...still go to weekly meetings and monthly weigh in for FREE, lol. But I track here and don't track points. Everyone's goals are different and everyone's way of reaching them are different. Calories to me makes more sense. You'll do great here.

Any cardio you're going to stick with is beneficial. I don't do just one or two--I run, spin, elliptical, zumba, and a few HIIT classes here and there. I don't walk other than hiking trips as I don't really much like just walking. Strength training is 2-3 times a week, full body. I'm not an athlete and I don't have special…

Here's something so ironic even I find it amusing: I renegotiated a lease and saved $304 a month on Tuesday. Wednesday my dog got sick. I took her to the vet. Can you guess the vet bill?: $304.

Overnight oats--40 g oats, 1/2 cup some type of nut milk, 1/2 cup yogurt, 20 g turbo chocolate whey protein (it's what I use), cinnamon, vanilla, sometimes blueberries sometimes PBFit. You can tailor it to your tastes. Sometimes I make this using buckwheat groats. BTW, this tastes like dessert or pie filling to me.

Good Almost-the-best-day-of-the-week from the hottest and steamiest day in NJ so far. Tonight is my first official Qigong / Tai Chi class. I'm going from being one of the oldest at the gym to one of the youngest in a class. Always a silver lining. Carpe Diem!

Never saw this thread before so thanks for the resurrection. I'm 56 and have been post-menopause for 7 years. Lost 71 pounds after that, 26 pounds before it for a total of 97. I lift weights, run, spin class, and take a few different HIIT classes. I lifted heavier when I was a younger person in shape, but as an adult, I'm…

I'm so sick of the treadmill I ventured out around 6 last night; I mean it was "only" 81 and it didn't feel all THAT humid--until around a mile in. One of the only times I hoped it started raining. It seems we may get cooler nights around late August but they're always humid in NJ.

Oh, lol...I guess you need to look for a Rotunda to 10k program.

Aren't you the person always looking for a DC running partner? I think I remember your paces being quite good? Do you even own a couch lol?

Happy Wednesday. The wagon passed by yesterday (after four days of waiting) and I jumped on it! Good eating day, good 5k run (even though it was in NJ pea soup humidity). Today back to lifting. Carpe diem!
-
Happy Tuesday. Sure hope another wagon is passing my way soon because I need to jump back on one. :( Carpe diem!

Nothing like Friday makes me feel like I'm in first grade--still love Fridays that much. I have to make babyback ribs and buffalo wings for a get together tomorrow. Will still manage run and gym before that. As long as there isn't any homemade Italian red, I should be okay on the food. If there's the homemade Italian red,…

Happy pre-Friday. Phils game was excellent yesterday (unless you're a Dodgers fan) and in the midst of one of the worst rainy forecasts, we didn't have one drop AND I gotta tan. Skipped the ballpark food, amazingly, but also had to miss the gym yesterday. Rescheduling a hair color appointment so I can make the gym tonight.…

Yeah, I had to look "Shark Week" up on Google yesterday. I'm so behind the times I've now become my mother.

Most of my international travels are backpacking or at the very least major-walking trips. Usually no access to a gym. On the occasions I do have access, yes, I use them as much as possible. If there's no opportunity for a gym and I'm not hiking, I always go for a run. Exercise on travels is pretty exciting stuff and I…

Happy Mid-Week...looking like my Dodgers/Phils game is going to be a wet one. Hopefully it doesn't go in to 16 innings like last night. Had a great treadmill run yesterday (if that's even possible) even though I cut back from running probably 80% in favor of a boatload of other cardio. I'm pretty exercise motivated since…
