And I should add I don't watch the shows for any kind of motivation or encouragement but in all honesty because I truly want to know how they came to be in their current situation so I can try and understand how people get to that point in their lives since it's baffling to me.

You can't place all the blame on the creators and producers though. Those people sign on and after how many years of the shows being on television now know what they're getting themselves into.

Even if you are up a few ounces or even a pound or two the next day, that doesn't mean you didn't anything wrong. I have some days where I'm up 2 or 3 lbs and then down the next couple days. Weight loss is not linear- that's why it's fun to get the app and watch that trend!
-
I weigh myself daily (sometimes twice- once in the morning, once at night just to see the pattern in the difference at the start and end of the day) I log my morning weight every morning in my happy scale app ( seeing the downward trend is so fun!) and then I log in MFP or Fitbit when I have a new low.

I just can't imagine spending money on something like that!
-
Ugh god that sounds awful!! Good thing you came to your senses!
-
I honestly did not know such things exist :o

I love them all! I typically watch My 600 lb Life while at the gym. I love Whitney and her family from My Big Fat Fabulous Life, I do think she is fabulous! I have no problem with any of those shows, it's not as though the shows are being done without the participants permission.

I eat one everyday for lunch during the work week! I also just started putting them on a plate (makes me feel like I'm eating more) and adding a serving of chicken and it keeps me fill up until dinner! I love it!

My favorite is - "You get a flat tire so you may as well just slash the other three!"
-
The sad thing is you are so correct.

I get the determination and motivation in the beginning but that can fade quickly. Maybe just start off with logging everything you eat. See how you do with that first. Then once you feel comfortable with logging maybe add in a little bit of exercise, like a walk daily and work your way up to intense workouts. You can lose…

The reason my employer started the gym reimbursement was because they used to offer a different variety of free fitness classes throughout the week here at the agency. When those were stopped (I have no idea why they were) a lot of people were very upset and then the gym reimbursement was created. I had a gym membership…
-
I agree! And if my employer was that choosy I couldn't be involved! The gym I joined I do like but the main reason I picked that one was because proximity to where I live! I pass it everyday on the way home from work so there's no skipping :)
-
Out of curiosity do you know why they're selective about which gyms they reimburse for? I'd think a gym you join is a gym to be reimbursed for.
-
I don't think so since they wouldn't be raising the amount for anyone, but lowering it through incentives for staying healthy so if you stay at the same amount you'd normally pay that's on you.
-
I agree, we have so many different incentives through work to make better choices and try and be healthier and usually the only people taking advantage of them are the ones who are healthy already.
-
My employer just started this this year- they will reimburse up to $25 per month if you have a gym membership and go at least 8 time or more per month. I absolutely love it as I belong to a gym that only costs me $30 a month so really I'm only paying $5 for my gym membership. And it's super easy to go 8 times a month as I…

None, I typically bank calories during the week so I know I can enjoy some of the foods I'd like when I'm out with friends on the weekends.
-
Yes, I get people who tell me I'm too skinny now. Please. And it's usually the people who are overweight telling me I'm already thin or I'll be too thin when I hit my goal weight. I could care less, it makes me more motivated honestly.
-
If you're using containers to portion your food you're probably eating too much. You're in the healthy weight range for your height so you need to get a food scale and start weighing everything you eat. It's very eye opening. Counting macros instead of calories won't help you lose weight if you're eating too many calories.
-
I'm 5'2 and I'm aiming to be back at 110 lbs- 115 lbs. Potentially 105 lbs but we'll see how I feel when I get to my first goal :)

No one was trying to tell people they CAN'T eat breakfast. Simply, if you're not hungry in the morning, don't eat. If you are, eat. Whatever works for you but not everyone HAS to eat breakfast if they prefer not to do so.

I forgot to add that I don't mindlessly snack and I prepare my lunch and two snacks the night before so I know it fits into my calories for the day. I feel full longer with lots of protein in my diet so I make sure I have plenty of foods with that.

Desk job for about five years. We aren't able to park in the parking garage next to our building so I park far away and walk in to work. I have a 15 minute morning break, 30 minute lunch, and 15 minute afternoon break where I get outside and walk during all of those. I eat at my desk throughout the day so I can use my…

If you're having drinks that can dehydrate you so could be why you weigh less the next morning even with higher calorie food. I love checking the scale the next morning after a night out of drinks

For me, I eat as much protein with each meal/snack as I can since it keeps me the fullest the longest. Doesn't look like you have any sort of protein in there except the Greek yogurt and a cheese slice.

maybe try not to be so rude and assume I'm a walking zombie, like I said I feel great I'm pushing weights and running. I feel amazing I'm just trying to understand why I don't feel hungry [/quote] It may have come across rude but these are things that happen overtime if you continuously undereat
