I was excercising for 3 months until I messed up my knee and then had surgery but to be honest I've never been really consistent with excercise for more than 6 months at a time for my whole life so that's definitely something I want to work on when I get the go ahead to workout in 5-6 weeks depending on what my doctor says.

So eating at maintenance is a diet break, right? How long are diet breaks usually meant to be taken for? I don't know much about it. I've actually never heard of it until coming to MFP forums

I honestly just want to get back to my high school weight of 125 so I can get back into all my clothes. Of course, if I had more muscle and less fat, and hence was a smaller size but the same weight as I am now, I wouldn't mind. I just want to look the way I did in clothes as I used to lol :)
-
so what's the usual course of action in these cases? Lol

I haven't really taken more then two days off in a row for the last 4 months. I don't really have cheat days but I've had some holidays in there. Not a real break though

I think chickpeas are good in sweet or vinegar based dressings and black beans are better in a creamy dressing or if you protein is Mexican flavored :)

I am vegan as well and a frugal vegan diet is actually sooo cheap. When ive needed to, I've lived off grains, beans, frozen veg, bananas, potatoes and dollar store condiments. Bulk shopping for dried goods and big bags of frozen veggies and frozen fruits are ideal and also no shame in coupons

Okay that makes a lot of sense. That's what me and my boyfriend were thinking because of the fact that while your muscles are healing, (as they are constantly when you're on a steady workout routine,) they hold some water. I was just concerned because I was on four different medications and I don't normally take any form…

I log all of it but I'm less strict with weighing. Like if I have to guess how much lettuce I'm using, I'm not as concerned about guessing with peanut butter or chocolate
-
I've just never seen my weight go down because of water weight but I'm assuming you're right lol. Only explanation. Just weird that pills would do that... or whatever else may have

I add lentils into soups, use beans in my salad, and eat tons of dark greens!

That happened to me the first time I lost weight when I was 16 and lost 40 pounds. I kept seeing myself as fat and kept dieting until I became underweight. I stayed at that weight until I got progressively sicker and sicker forcing me to eat again and get back to a healthy weight. Then, I stayed at that healthy weight so…

That's horrible! Weight loss products always have the worst digestive symptoms. Just stick with healthy food. Only supplement i take is b-12 and that's only because I'm vegan. I think it's best to avoid pills and supplements in general

I don't think I can really disagree with any of that haha. Very very well said! Thanks :)

I wouldn't end up hitting my weekly or monthly targets. I really blame it on some of the zero calorie chemicals and ultra-processed junk I used to eat but maybe there was other factors that I'm not accounting for. Because, let me be clear, the junky snacks I was choosing at that time were the worst of the worst. But like I…

For your health, absolutely. And I think that's more important than weight loss

Let me get my class notes and I'll try to find the exact studies. One of them explained how whole carbohydrates were harder to convert into body fat because of de novo lipogenesis, another was about resistant starch and how not all calories from these foods were absorbed and yet another (albeit, just a case control) showed…

Every time I've logged eating junkies in my life, I would stop losing if I was even a bit over my calorie goal. I had a healthy base but my snacks were always complete junk. Weight loss was hard for me. This time that I'm eating a lot healthier foods for the most part, my weight loss has been the easiest ever. I've tracked…

What type of IF did you do? 16:8?
-
Yes but that was when I was young and had body dysmpohia. I was 104 pounds at 5 foot 8.5 and very sick. Eating about 700 -900 calories a day and sometimes fast for 24 hours. It was borderline anorexia. It took a long time to become comfortable with a healthy weight of 125-145 and also recomp because after all that, I have…

Im vegan. You can add me and my diary is open. Always happy to chat

Lol I think it's the most flattering word for what I'm trying to describe
-
How much do you have to lose? Sounds like a very rapid weight loss
-
Well congrats! Slow and steady wins the race I guess

I literally weigh my bites of food if I have a bite of something my boyfriend is eating lol so only thing I can do is walk more! But I think that's probably my best option because I really don't want to eat any less lol. When I eat 1100-1200 , the extra couple hundred calories really makes me feel hungry and I'll wake up…

Okay, thanks very much!! Yeah, my measurements have changed a tiny amount this month in my waist but nowhere else. I think I'm probably just less bloated though lol.
-
Yes, I am vegan. I was thinking that upping my protein may be a good idea. I'll play with my macros a bit just to see if it gives me any change. The physio therapist originally said that I could do certain things but the knee didn't seem to be healing well ( it was a fractured patella and severe tendinitis originally) and…

Yeah that's probably the best move long term but why wouldn't I be able to lose weight right now in the meantime? That's the part I can't understand. Why did the scale stop moving? Temporary? It's not like my body would stop losing weight just cause it knows it's a decent weight.. otherwise there'd be nobody underweight or…

I don't really care if it's exactly 10 pounds or if I just lose some more of my jiggle. I definitely have visible body fat. I was 128 most of my life (sometimes less) so I do want to get back to that weight because then I won't have to reinvest in a whole new wardrobe. I am at the point where I fit into my clothes again…

Yeah for sure but you need a basic knowledge of what food contains and be in tune. I've definitely done it before and actually lost most of my weight before joining MFP but it's not a surprise because when I started tracking, I was eating about 1400 calories naturally just by being healthy. And I was always full. Diary is…
