I'm in London, open to new friends. I have Ehlers-Danlos, fibromyalgia and ankylosing spondylitis - but I'm determined to get fit this year. I've started C25K (though I swiftly worked out that my regular walks are actually 5km, so it's more "Walk2K2Run2K". I'm starting climbing soon, so I've been doing…

Are you actually hungry, or are you just in the habit of eating at that time? Try drinking a pint of water - it fills your stomach and fools it into that satiated feeling so it kills hunger pangs. Then find something to do that distracts you - read a book, watch a film or something, work at a hobby etc.

Half an hour beforehand: Water, peanut butter (100% peanuts, no sugar or palm oil) sandwich. After: A pint of water, maybe a banana or depending on timing I'll have lunch.

I drink a pint of water. It fills your stomach, giving your brain that "I'm full" signal of satiation that turns off the little cravings - and helps keep you hydrated. Then I find something to do that keeps me occupied mentally so I don't find myself tempted any further.

Today was one of my rest days between running days - which meant focusing on strength training, but I got a bit of cardio in nonetheless - plus an hour's singing, which burns another 136 calories too if you're doing it standing up. :-) Not sure I'll have time to fit in a run tomorrow though, as I have a 2-hour all-ages…

It's actually my second go at it - the first time it fell by the wayside thanks to health stuff, but I've been steadily getting that under control and felt it was a good time to start again, particularly as this time round I have firm goals and targets. I've been lurking on the community and reading up on stuff - very…

I think for me, it's going to be less about overindulging and more about trying to fit in time to exercise and go for a run. Getting up an hour earlier to run isn't going to work for me (AS means the mornings are when I'm in most pain) but I think I'd better get used to fitting in a run after my daughter's in bed. I'd have…

The only RL friend I have on MFP is a friend I knew before joining MFP. I've not been around long enough to really get to know folks on here - and the majority of members seem to be in the US anyway, so little chance for a Londoner in the UK to meet up.

Sending you a request - I started a week ago. I'm doing Couch to 5K with the aim of bringing up my fitness so I can go climb Snowden next summer. I was going to wait till Jan 1st but then decided why wait? I want to get down to about 60kg - but I want that to be 60kg of muscle and fitness. :-)

I'm a Christian (active in church, I lead sung worship almost every Sunday) but I wouldn't term myself a "Jesus freak".

I have a similar issue - was fine with babies 1 and 2, and just before I fell pregnant with my youngest I was the fittest I'd ever been (thanks in no small part to a lot of Morris dancing - you may laugh, but just try playing a flute whilst high-knee skipping all around the Square Mile in London leading a bunch of Morris…

Almost 44 here (birthday is at the end of the month), mother of 3 (24, 22, 9, all girls) and as of Sunday night a grandmother of one boy! I've started C25K, planning to take up climbing at a nearby climbing gym in the new year (a friend is already a member there and can show me the ropes - pun totally intended), and I want…
