LOL, with all due respect, great bagels are not exclusive to NYC or Montreal. I grew up in a city that was referred to as "Little Israel", with some of the best delicatessens I have ever been to (and yes, I have been to NYC). The bagels were second to none. This was back in the 60's and in the middle of N America…

Diet pop has a few calories (some more, some less depending on the pop). I think most things that claim zero calories per serving you have to calculate how many calories per container. Vitamins and things like this have some too. When I make muffins, I use the cupcake liners, saves a few calories, and clean up is a breeze.…

I don't really think that anyone said that. The statistics for keeping the weight off, no matter how you achieve the weight loss, or what you do, or don't give up, are very discouraging. Over 80% fail. So, why not find what works for you and if you can sustain that, you may be in the small percent that keep the weight off.…
-
Yeah, but that is not everyone, or not even a majority of people. Why not eat what you like and try to find a way of life and eating that can work long term? Sustainability is a very real concern for people that lose weight. Over 80% gain the weight back, with many gaining even more weight than they lost. MOST PEOPLE DO…

Thomas's bagel thins only have 110 calories. Not quite the same, but will do in a pinch.

My treat at the end of the day for staying within my calorie allotment, except I prefer the Dove dark chocolate caramel with sea salt. 1 or 2 pieces and I let it melt in my mouth to savor as long as possible.

Buy in bulk and sales. Cook your own food and avoid take out and restaurants. I have found my grocery bill is less.

An average woman between the ages of 30 & 50 burns 1800 calories per day just being alive. So I guess the best way is to just stay alive. If you want to burn an additional 1500 calories, that is a pretty big amount, and involves probably several hours per day. A pretty big goal.

Well worth it in the long run. Starting on my 3rd week today, down -8 pounds.

Not accepting people for the way they appear, race, religion, sex, etc, for any reason, is prejudice, and it is wrong. No justification for this. Not anyone's responsibility to judge anyone else. It shows immaturity, lack of compassion, and bad manners. My opinion.

Weight loss is a result of eating less calories than you burn. Many people do very little, or no exercise, and lose weight. 80% eating less calories 20% exercise, but some an even higher percent for weight loss, and a lower percent for exercise. Eat less calories than you burn, weigh and log EVERYTHING you eat and drink…

Every day. Record on Monday with MFP. Also a "happy" Happy Scale user!

My favorite way is to just bake it. 1/2 TBSP butter at the end with salt and pepper. DH likes his with about 1TBSP brown sugar, cinnamon, and 1TBSP butter.

It is difficult for many of us. Take it one day at a time. Make small goals and acknowledge each one of them! If you stick with a program, six months from now you will be happy that you did. You are worth it!

Eat the whole egg. Packed with protein, economical, low calorie per serving and good for you.

Sugar is sugar, and naturally occurring sugar, is in many, many foods. Your body & brain needs it. This is not misleading. You can give up foods that are overly processed. Are you giving it up for the rest of your life? What happens when you reach your goal? And try going sugar free and eating at a restaurant. Very…

Losing weight is 80% diet 20% exercise, maybe even higher. Eat less calories than you burn and do whatever exercise you enjoy. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so it is kind of important to build up muscle.
-
This comes up often on MFP. Our bodies and brains need sugar and it is impossible to give up sugar. A great way to lose weight is by eating less calories than you burn. No need to cut out any food if you have the self control to moderate intake. All things in moderation for me. I figure it will be a sustainable way of…

I personally look forward to breakfast. I work out first thing in the morning and look forward to my breakfast when I get done. Whatever works for you, as long as it is within your calorie allotment for the day.

I always go to the gym alone. When dd is home, she goes with me. Early. At the most, only 2 or 3 other people there, they are also alone. I prefer to be there alone. I want to do my thing, get done, and leave.

Diet staple: boneless, skinless chicken breasts Fitness staple: Fit bit Charge HR Good luck to you!
-
I have a Charge HR. Love it for the motivation it gives me to move more. Calories burned is pretty much overestimated for everything that measures calories burned. (ie: the elliptical give me about 650 for 65 minutes, MFP gives me about 900 my fit bit gives me between 570-590). Calories burned is an estimate as it takes in…

Eat them. They are good for you. Runners often eat them after a run. Fruit is good for you so eat whatever you enjoy. Fit it into your daily calorie budget.

For 1# of 93% ground turkey, I saute 1/2 cup yellow onion (finely chopped), and a cup of fresh baby spinach (coarsely chopped) in 1 Tbsp of olive oil and 1/2 TBSB butter until soft, set aside in a large bowl and let cool to room temperature. When the onion/spinach mixture is cooled off, add the ground turkey to the bowl…
