  • I am so happy to find this forum for runners! I was afraid I was going to have to start one. I have been running for most of my life. Currently I am in my pre-training mode before starting on my marathon training plan just after the first of the year. Due to a couple of deferrals from cancellations due to our friend COVID…
  • Hello everyone. 57 yrs old and my fitness comes primarily from running, currently training for marathon in the spring. Recently added in TRX for some strength training. I do a lot more stretching than I did in my 40s.
  • I live in Maine and run outdoors year round. Due to COVID-19 my narathons were deferred so I am training for two next year I have all the proper gear to run to -10 F (if no wind) I do need to replace my gloves so I would be interested to hear what others are wearing in extreme cold.
  • I am currently training for the Bakersfield marathon in Nov. Should be a flat and fast course. Halfway through training program this week!
  • I train in the dark! Up in Maine it's dark when I leave for work and it's dark when I get home. I run outside year round. I just completed the Marine Corps Marathon in D.C. last week and after a week of rest I have signed up for a marathon in May which means I will definitely need motivation and support to crawl out of bed…
  • I'm In! Gearing up for USMC marathon in Oct. My goal for May will be 120 miles. With a goal of extending my long runs now that I winter appears to be over and I can see the shoulders of the rural roads again. I live in Maine!

  • Don't laugh but....for my winter running my hands and thumbs were always freezing. I tried everything! Then in a raffle at a golf tournament I won a pair of Titleist fleece handwarmers designed to be pushed up onto your wrists to swing then slip them back over your fingers to keep them warm. There loose enough to wear…
  • Thank you all for making me feel better about myself! It's not just me!!! That being said there's a new pair of brooks Ravenna I've had my eye on!
  • My winter training has really gotten into gear in the last couple of weeks. I am in Bangor, Maine and running outside year round presents challenges but I can't stand Treadmills! Power to those who can. I am currently running 25mpw ramping up to 35 by the end of March. My hope is to be selected in the lottery for the USMC…
  • Hi my name is Mark. I run 5-6 days a week and have completed 5 marathons but am still 6 min off my BQ. I live in Bangor, Maine and I run outside year round so I know a little about running in the cold, ice, and snow. And the dark, I typically run at 5am before work. My current goal (Jan 2017) is to keep my miles and…
