What do you mean "only"?? I wish I "only" lost 41 pounds 🤣
-
I won't eat standing up. I also won't eat any "food replacements" like fake meat, fake eggs, dairy-free "dairy" products, fat free cheese, any type of sugar replacement, even "natural" ones.

Food. Sad but true.

So what are some of your favorite plant based recipes that do not include and animal based food replacements (i.e. no fake meat, dairy, etc.).

My self care involved bringing joy to someone else. My daughter's coach had a big birthday today and the entire team coordinated to show up in our cars and do a drive by her house. It was great excuse to get dressed in nice clothes and the look on her face when we showed up honking on her street was priceless. It felt good…

Nice! And probably feels slow ands steady but 67 pounds over 5 months is amazing!
-
You mentioned you could "kind of see things building to this point". Now you can learn from that and avoid it happening again. Just log it and move forward and use this as a learning opportunity.

Great progress! Way to go!

I'm trying to use this time to focus on myself- I literally have zero excuse for not having time now, LOL. I'm looking at this as a project ;)

I don't go to the gym, so I am using this time to motivate and be more active. Since I am home now, I am trying to go for walks to get sun and fresh air. It is still chilly here but the sun feels good. In terms of snacks and food, I am just trying to remind myself how hard I have worked and not to let this derail me. I…

He needs to get out more. In fact, he needs to get out. Period. What a d-bag!

You are probably losing it from places that you can't see clearly. I am down 20 pounds and my waist is exactly the same size. I was feeling defeated but a few days ago I put on a robe that previously the arms felt tight, and now they feel looser. My wedding ring is also looser. So while that doesn't mean I am down a…

To me that looks like a HUGE difference- and all over!
-
I get that. You don't NEED to tell people how much you have lost. If they ask if you have lost weight say yes and that's it. If they ask how much you can always say you are still "in the process" and are not sure so far, LOL

Yes I know that feeling very well. I try to combat it with one day at a time, sometimes even one hour at a time, or as the above posted said, one decision at a time. I have 50 pounds to lose to be healthy and when I think of it that way I get really overwhelmed, but when I start to feel discouraged or impatient I realize…

I try not to talk about weight/food stuff too much because I find anything that is over discussed can drive people crazy. I have a couple friends who sell Rodan and Fields skin care stuff and it is ALL they can talk about. I have stopped following them on social media b/c it drives me nuts. Another couple friends are super…

I'm starting again after a Loooooooong hiatus. I lost 80 pounds about 5 years ago and felt SO good. It slowly started creeping back on about three years ago. When my dad passed in November or 2017, I made vow to myself that I would get healthy again and lost 20 pounds, but then sort of lost my mojo and here we are...I have…

I'm finding sometimes it is even one meal at a time, or one hour at a time on those really tough days.
-
I'm in the minority and do it only once every three weeks or so while I am losing. I found that I had a really hard time not getting discouraged when I had a really great week and the scale did not reflect all my hard work. Once every three weeks was a nice way to guarantee the numbers would move. In between weighing, I…

You can do it. Take it one day at a time and do not think of it as 55 pounds to lose or you will feel overwhelmed. Sometimes there are days where I have to take it one meal at a time, or even hour by hour on a particularly difficult day. Also, if you have one bad day, pick yourself up and move on. Do not let one day derail…

Right there with you. I let one night last week for an anniversary dinner turn into 4 full days. I woke up this morning and feel terrible- headache, tired, puffy...I am using that as motivation, because it is obvious what not making healthy choices does to my body.
-
I am having the opposite problem where my face looks thinner and my pants feel looser since I started 5 weeks ago. I measured myself to compare and there is ZERO difference! Talk about discouraging.
-
I just wanted to add that I am so sorry for the loss of your husband
-
Awesome! One day at a time is the best way, so your ultimate goal does not feel impossible to overwhelming!
-
I am almost 5'5 and for me it is 20 lb
-
Absolutely inspirational!
-
WOW!!!
-
Did you happen to take body measurements? You might be losing inches and not pounds. Are your clothes fitting you any differently?

If I remember correctly, the entire idea of a "Set Point" came about from a diet book that was written in the 1980's. My mother was a huge serial dieter and every book that came out. I totally remember the day she bought it and had it out on the counter. I think it was just called "The Set Point Diet".
