Yes, definitely agree with you. However, when you begin exercising, it's much easier to stay below your Calorie goal. For a start, the calories you burn mean you can eat more but the biggest one is that after a week or two of regular exercise, it starts acting as an appetite suppressant. I definitely eat more when I'm…

I know someone who lost a lot of weight using herbalife. I was very tempted to sign up but I agree with ninerbuff: unless you're going to be replacing meals with shakes for the rest of your life, it will be very difficult to maintain that 'healthy' weight once you reach it. I've tried many fast acting diets: the soup diet…

Sugar has been proven to be very addictive. I personally wouldn't go as far as comparing it to heroin but I do see this persons point

I agree. I dont really ever crave salty tgings; I actually don't really like chips and things like that so Ive never had a problem. Sugar is VERY different. I haven't had sugar for quite some time now but soon I'll allow myself a small treat here and there. I don't think Im in any danger of overindulging anymore as I…

Definitely. I think a couple of people have mentioned that it's the high Calorie things to cut back on rather than a particular thing (in my case sugar) but of course all the good tasting sugary stuff IS high calories.

Ive added you :)
-
Yes! I hadn't thought of that!
-
By the way, thanks for your replies everyone! I actually wasn't aware until now that I could find my previous discussion posts. It's been great reading all your replies. The no added sugar thing is going REALLY well too! There are so many alternatives and Im finding it much easier to limited my calories!

I know what you mean. I guess because I'm quite black and white, all or nothing, this sort of thing works for me. Once I've lost a good amount of weight and feel that there's not a dangerous of receiving to my prior sugar addiction, maybe I'll have a piece of cake or the occasional ice cream here and there. Im not sure.…

I guess it's different for everyone but for me, eliminating things with added sugar from my Diet has really helped me. I didn't eat anything with added sugar for nearly four years. I didn't crave chocolate or lollies and stopped eating when I was full. Following a very bad shoulder injury and subsequent surgery, I…

Yes. I agree and am aware of what you are saying. However, I do find that cutting out things like chocolate, ice cream, lollies and sweet drinks really boosts my results. I probably will reintroduce these things at some point but at the moment, I dont feel the need and am enjoying healthier alternatives like Fruit and…

What do you mean by that? Is it that many low carb recipes are high fat?

Add me please! It's really great giving and getting support from people on the same journey :)

Im finding the Community part of this really helpful. Good luck with your mfp journey :)

I've been up and down too. This time, I've put the scales away and am making my focus to get healthy and fit. So far so good because Im eating a lot of healthy food and enjoying the exercise. I've found the Community part of this really helpful! :)

If you lose a certain amount of weight, mfp will automatically change your Calorie goal. If you keep eating the same amount, you plateau. I suggest you just go with the number of calories they give you. That way, you're more likely to stick with your Diet. I'm on 1200 calories now but started with 1400.i rarely weigh…

I'm really all or nothing. When I was off sugar previously, I found that I didn't crave it at all after a while. I don't ever crave savoury food unless I am actually hungry so giving up sugar is really good for weight loss I find :)
-
Don't weigh yourself too much. I'm most successful when I forget the scales and just focus on enjoying good food and exercising regularly
-
That's such helpful advise! Thanks for sharing. Giving up sugar completely is definitely the only way to go. If you can be strong for about a week, you'll not look back! I find it really hard to give up sugar, but once I do, it's like I don't even want it anymore. I didn't eat anything with added sugar for nearly two…

Im Marketa and I'm a teacher and a mum too. What I've learned over the past ten years is that the best way to gain weight is to a. Become a teacher and b. Have kids of your own... Yeah... Enough said! Please add me because I still can't work out how to add others :/

I absolutely hear you and feel your pain! This is EXACTLY what happens to me! One thing that really works for me is Protein. I absolutely hate the stuff but if I have even a few bites of a high Protein bar, I won't feel hungry at all for about 4 hours. So, what I do is I keep one in my car for when I finish work. I'll have…
-
This is quite a stupid question Im sure but how do I add people and how does it work?
-
I'm Marketa from Melbourne Australia and I really do! It would be great to check in with someone and feel accountable!

I do. Thats funny in a sad way. Sorry for your loss. Im back again too which kind of implies that it didn't work out so well the first time... Hmmmm
