Yep, that's my order, too. With Dr. Pepper. Since I'm currently down to one soda a week (big win) that would be a maybe twice a year splurge!

Beer. I don't drink the sissy stuff...if I'm drinking, it's probably some high gravity Belgian or Stout. So one beer clocks in around 600 cals on average. I once drank a beer that no lie was 1200 cals. (It was a bomber, but still). Alcohol in general loads my calories, so I'm trying to limit myself to one-two during the…

/dead I love a good Hitler joke. I also have a tattoo, so already going to hell.

First off, your use of the word tertiary makes me want to be friends. I am taller (5'9") and heavier (288lbs) but starting out similar to you (and also in my 30's). I've done lifting heavy in the past and really enjoyed it, but my backslide was terrible and now I can barely hang with beginner's yoga. Once I feel stronger,…

Assuming you aren't a troll, 10 lbs in 7 days is just water weight and scale fluctuation. You should be eating more cals but you should give people more details ie: your starting weight, etc. MFP really does that for you when you input your numbers when signing up. 2lbs per week is the most you should be aiming for.

I've worked really hard on cutting alcohol intake this week, but it's seriously put a damper on my cheese enjoyment. Nice sharp cheddar isn't the same without a strong Belgian Quad.

Such great advice! I've gone whole hog before, but I'm focused on maintainable goals this time (just 50 lbs in the first year). And cutting sugar is HUGE. Even if you don't meal plan, cut some fruit up and send yourself a piece of dark chocolate each day (like a Dove single) to help get past the cravings. I'm only day 3…

I don't have much advice, because I'm just starting again on my "last" last time, but I have depression, I'm pretty sure an undiagnosed binge eating disorder to go with it, and it is so hard to stay motivated. This is probably counter-productive after a while, but I do find that the busier I keep myself, the less depressed…

My goal is 50 lbs this YEAR, but I have far more to go after that to get to a healthy weight. I'm definitely a serial starter, too, so I'm trying to do what I can to make small changes every day that will become habits (not jumping in with a huge cleanse/workout program). In the past I drop the first 5-10lbs easily and…
