I limit alcohol because more than one drink turns into three or four too quickly which isn't a great use of calories. I also limit caffeine but that has nothing to do with weight loss but because it exacerbates my anxiety. (Although not drinking 120 calories of latte each day is a plus.) Lately I've been limiting cheese…

Grapefruit Perrier is delicious. It almost tastes like juice was added to the water but it's 0 calorie. The apple is pretty tasty too. La Croix isn't as palatable IMO but I know it has a lot of fans. Otherwise, filter your tap water and keep it chilled. Drink with lemon/lime/mint. (Squeeze or muddle as appropriate.)

Hot bath with Epsom salts. Like a lot of Epsom salts. I'll do 3 cups if I'm hurting.

I highly recommend having at least one outfit you feel great in at all times. My confidence really suffers if I'm wearing clothes that fit poorly so even if I'm just getting one pair of jeans to tide me over that's very important.

I'm going to start calling my preworkout fuel "sweat snacks". The study also only looked at two days and it was self reported (by the individual). How many people do you know that don't really remember what they ate in the last day or try to minimize it? (That cookie didn't count because you only took a bite.)

I recommend stretching while watching TV or a movie. I find it boring too but it helps if I make something fun conditional on stretching.

Fat sacks?! I've never heard this before. Is this a common term?

My first thought when I read this title was "vegetables out of a bag ... like potato chips!?!"

About an hour before bed I put away screens and take a hot bath. I read and then go to bed. If I have a lot of trouble sleeping then I'll make myself some stress tea, either with kava root or valerian. (I think the kava has a recommended max dose so read up on both before trying them.)

@theo166 I agree that eating healthier shouldn't be more expensive but I think when people change their lifestyle they start seeing recipes for organic kale with fresh hand-harvested blueberries and they think they have to jaunt off to the farmer's market and spend $30 to make a salad. When you make a lifestyle change…

^^ This. In 98% of cases when people criticize someone for losing weight it's because they're jealous. Either they want to look like you or they wish they had your resolve to get there. In the other 2% of cases they realize you've got an eating disorder and are trying to tell you something is wrong. (Are you missing your…

Thin Mints. But I sure miss the Canadian version because those were amazing!

I would do a modified side plank as pictured.

Vanilla ice cream topped with potato chips.

I did the six month challenge and for the first four months while I was motivated and losing water weight it was great. The last few months were just a pain because I lost my motivation but I didn't want to lose my money. So I would barely scrape by each weigh it. (One time I spent twenty minutes finding the lightest…

Fit does seem to be the new skinny but I doubt skinny will go out of style anytime soon.

I always get the flu shot and I've never had cancer or autism. Therefore flu shots are good for more than the flu. On the other hand the last time I ate spaghetti I ended up spilling wine all over myself so the garlic in the tomato sauce must cause temporary muscular deficiencies. If you want to hear any other anecdotal…

I've been an adult for twenty years and I won't eat something I don't like. (Exceptions for when I don't want to hurt someone's feelings so I'll take a nibble.) Fortunately I love plenty of fruits and veg. Now that I'm thinking about it though maybe the secret to adulthood is convincing yourself you love healthy things?

I don't have EDS but I have had a lot of experience trying to find a fitness routine that takes into account my hypermobility. I've found that some certified Pilates instructors can have an enormous understanding of kinesiology and adapting exercises to work with different types of bodies/abilities. The movements are also…

Shift your calories around (like eat a smaller lunch) so you can have a snack before bed and/or eat a larger dinner. If you still have this problem then a cup of herbal tea can do wonders.

Drown your broccoli in cheese sauce. Hover your fork over the plate and realize that pizza is as many calories. Throw out broccoli and get pizza.

Same! I actually had three attempts at dinner today because I prepared my first two options and the first bite was underwhelming. I decided to bin the serving and try another option instead of forcing myself to eat it.

The last I checked I was spending $800/month on groceries and eating out. Just for me. Not including toilet paper and other household goods. I get Blue Apron and go out to lunch 3 days a week. I also buy a lot of food with good intentions. Everyone is going to be different so I wouldn't worry about it as long as you're…

Like they're visible through your skin or are they actually pumped (bulging)? My veins get prominent if I've been bouldering or working out but otherwise I can just see them through my skin.

I do my nails. I also browse MFP on my phone.

That your husband gets irritated about watching the baby on the weekend is a big red flag. Is he overweight or does he have some fears about you losing weight? I suggest you two go to a counselor so you can work through those issues. As for the pizza, it's reasonable to ask him not to do that every night. It's one of those…

I'm not sure how healthy it is but vegan pumpkin alfredo is amazing. Check google for recipes!

If you stop losing weight or are losing significantly more slowly than projected while eyeballing portions then start weighing your food. (Give yourself a few weeks to see if eyeballing works for you.) Most people are off while eyeballing but maybe you won't overall be off by enough to have a huge impact. Maybe you won't…

^^ All of this. Once you start seeing your daily fluctuations you gain a much better understanding of how your choices (and hormones and other factors) affect your weight so you can make better decisions and won't be disheartened. I've heard there are people who panic with daily fluctuations so if you're one of those…

Another vote for dry shampoo. They're not created equally so don't give up if the first doesn't work for you. Oribe texturizing spray is great for styling or second day hair but when it comes to oil absorption (third day hair for me) I like Living Proof dry shampoo. The ones that come as powders (not sprays) are probably…
