I've been doing P90X on and off for about 3 years and have had great success. I've lost 30 lbs in the last 4 months (I'm on my second round after starting the first round last Nov). My strength gains have been pretty good. When I started in November I could barely pump out 15 push-ups. I can now do 50 without stopping. I…

One note on this post. When adding weight to body weight exercises, I would highly recommend using a weighted workout vest so the weight can be evenly distributed. Depending on the type of movement, you can throw your form "out of wack" if you are not careful. Using a weighted vest will help to mitigate this risk.

I use them at the end of some of my weight training routines and think they are great!

Great attitude! Keep keeping your vision on the longer term goals of your health and fitness.

Ditto. With routines that work multiple muscle groups/movement which will torch the calories, build functional strength and keep burning calories even after your workout.

Cycling is very good for glute development. Especially if you work hills and interval training into your cycling workouts.

If you're using UA Record linked to MFP, you can also go to track your workout and select Gym/Leg workout

I've had reconstructive knee surgery and it has taken many years to adapt to and strengthen my "bad@ leg. Great advice from above. I'd also recommend swimming and maybe rowing while gradually working exercises that put more pressure on that leg, with guidance from your Orthopedic Doctor.

Awesome attitude. I will be here to cheer you on!

I would highly recommend yoga. If you stick with it for just a little while, you will see amazing results with your overall core strength and flexibility which will improve your performance level in your other activities. If you can, I would start out by finding a class and instructor that can guide you initially. Try the…

I would follow the sage advice of Djproulx. As someone who has chronic knee issues after a bad knee injury, I would select workouts that do not stress your legs/knee, until it has healed. It's important to keep your mind on the big picture with respect to health and fitness. In addition to D's excellent suggestions for…

Right now for my 3 heavy weight training workouts/wk I'm using VaporX5™ Next Gen by Muscle Tech. Nothing pre workout for cardio, other than maybe a banana about 30 minutes beforehand.

Depends on the claims. I think he jury is still out on whether or not they help with muscle growth/retention. Definitely not a good source of "energy" during workouts. However, From my own experience, they definitely help with reducing post workout muscle soreness during heavy weight lifting days.

What kind of workout? Cardio? Weights? Other?

Just started a new 12 week workout cycle after a repeat of the last 4 weeks of P90X Classic, finishing off with a recovery week of cardio, stretching and yoga. Fitness Progress and Numbers have been good. I started in late November 2016 and I've gone from 204 to 174 lbs, lost 5 inches from my waist and 1.5 inches from my…

Thank you, so much! I watched a couple of YouTube videos on the the series over the weekend. Based on your feedback and what I have seen, I will likely get the program to start once I finish with my current P90X Plus program. Thanks, again! Looking forward to hearing more of your progress. Take care.

Doing push-ups with different hand/arm positions will work different parts of your chest, back, shoulders and arms. You will work your core with all hand/arm positions during the various types of push-ups in proper form. For proper form your head/neck should be straight and in alignment, shoulders and back stable, hips and…

Try the first 40 minutes of P90X's Yoga X and come back to give us your opinion about the intensity.

Agree with all of the above comments. Remember, it's about the long game.

I agree. However, I have found that they help me a lot in post workout muscle soreness on heavy lifting and intense Plyo days.

Awesome! Thank you.
