Just based on the last couple of days in your diary...you can definitely have more than 1 egg for breakfast, so maybe have 2 or add a couple whites. Add a Greek yogurt and some nuts (or pumpkin seeds if you have a nut allergy) to lunch or as a mid-afternoon snack. If you can afford the calories why limit yourself to only…

As much as you want as long as you stay within your calorie goal. Without fruit I would never lose weight. I can quit the candy and baked goods when I really need to but if I don't have fruit to replace it, game over.

My mom has fibro. Exercise is your friend even if you don't know it yet. I lectured her for years that she had to move more and when her PT finally made her do 30 min on the elliptical several times a week I got a "You were right about the exercise" call from a woman who NEVER admits she is wrong. She also gets full fast…

When I had to buy bigger jeans. In the last 4 years I've changed jobs 1x, moved 4x (one of them 2000+miles), got a divorce, started a relationship, moved my BF 2x, traveled to China 3x, survived a 4500 person layoff, lost 3/4 of my friends to job relocations due to said layoff, spent 1 year healing elbow and wrist injuries…

I also HATE open floor plans in offices. I currently want to murder about 15 people who don't know how to use their indoor voices at work. The cacophony of conversations and phone calls happening are making it impossible to concentrate. After lunch I'm going to go hide in a closet with my lap top and very loud music to try…

Amazing! I would probably do the same thing. Maybe don't put it on a plate and put it right in front of the door...or multiple doors. Taking it off the plate will make it less visible so maybe he will step in it. You could also put it in the mailbox. Urban warfare at its best. We had a group of people that liked to stop in…

I hate when I call tech support and have this conversation: ME: I keep getting an error message when I do _____ thing. I already cleared my cookies and restarted my browser. Twice, just to make sure. IT: Did you clear your cookies and restart your browser? ME: Yes, I already said that. IT: Can you describe the problem to…

YAY!!! Nice job!

Add 1tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of chili powder to that recipe and you have Mexican Hot Chocolate cookies :) The kick is subtle but amazing. They disappeared in minutes last time I brought them to the office.

For the record, I just made chocolate chip cookie dough. I plan to freeze the dough, so I can pull out individual servings over the next six weeks. In the past, I would have baked all the cookies today and they probably would have been gone by the weekend. :D [/quote] @Emily3907 Sweet Jesus you just CHANGED MY LIFE!!! I've…

This, so much this. Reality is that good food vs. bad food wars are First World problem borne out of privilege. Some people would cut off their arm for ANY food. Maybe we should all noodle on that thought for awhile and be grateful for what we have. Homemade root beer with homemade vanilla ice cream sounds amazing...yum...

I'm going to back you up on this one @Tacklewasher. So assume the veterans offering advice have "everything figure out" or "never struggled" is ridiculous. Those people don't exist on forums like this, myself included. I may be new to MFP, but this sure as hell isn't my first trip to this rodeo and it took a few tries…

I'm 39 years old, 5'6" and 132lbs. I just decided today that I'm going to start maintenance rather than obsess about dropping two more pounds. Maintenance range is 130-135. Time to start recomp.

YASSSS!!! I was hoping to suggest this one but you beat me to it!

I love this description, and running definitely feels that way sometimes :) Ironically, this is kind of similar to how I feel about weightlifting. Pick something up, put it down, pick it up, put it down, pick it up, put it down, pick it up, put it down, repeat until your so bored that you stop, sit down, and start shopping…

Your clearly missing the point that training to run a marathon takes a MASSIVE amount of dedication, and sacrifice. Nobody that spends the number of hours required to train for a marathon is nothing less than dedicated, and obese doesn't make their dedication less real than someone who is thin. Anyone who can run 26.2…

I agree with @JessicaMcB about checking with a doctor before starting running, particularly if you are prone to joint pain. I'm also frequently at the Orthopedist or Physical Therapist and surprisingly, even with my joint disease, the consensus is that the problems I do have with my knees and hips have nothing to do with…

I also hate when people don't pick up their dog's poop. One of the schools in my area had the students make these pictures and they hung them all over the corner where the bus stop is. There's about 100 of them hanging out there. It's amazing!

We have ALL of these people too. I'm a former New Yorker so I use my horn when needed, unfortunately I have to use it more in MPLS than I ever did in NYC. My personal favorite is: A: Drives straight forward through a green light. B: Cuts A off to make a left turn. A: HONK!!! B: Stop in the middle of the intersection and…

Whether or not someone is taking their sport seriously because they are overweight is a matter of personal opinion, and not everyone who is overweight has joint issues. The OP is starting to run, and is most likely changing their diet or else they would not be on MFP. My father was 100 lbs overweight when he started…

Don't ever come to Minneapolis. Worst. Drivers. Ever. They never use signals and nobody seems to understand how to merge properly.

I masticated the crap outta this bacon, pineapple, and feta beauty last night and it was HEAVEN! Anti-pineapple-pizza people don't what they're missing. (And because I racked up 18,700 steps I was still under my calorie goal for the day)

The very first time I tried to run, I ran for 5 minutes and my shins and quads were sore for a week. I wasn't overweight, but I was pretty sedentary. I decided I hated it. So I went back to walking. After walking for awhile, building up to a really fast pace, I started to get the itch to run again but I was scared. So I…

I strongly disagree with you. I know several people that are technically obese that run marathons. Not all runners are skinny, toned fitness models. It is harder to run when you are heavier because you are carrying more weight, and yes, it puts more strain on your joints. But in the same way that a non-obese person can…

I totally chowed down on some pizza last night. I have learned that eating a plate of salad before my pizza helps me control how much pizza I eat. My pizza place has an AMAZING spinach salad that I seriously crave (their white balsamic dressing is to die for), so I get a 2 for 1 deal on favorite foods on pizza nights :)

By allowing myself to have the treats I love in smaller portions I was able to learn portion control. By slowing down and making the process of eating 1 truffle or 1 cupcake (with ALL the frosting), and making the enjoyment of those few bites a full sensory experience, I realized binging on sweets does nothing to satisfy…

I agree with the "don't worry about your calories" perspective for vacations. Eat until you are satisfied, drink alcohol moderately, and enjoy yourself. Yes, you will probably go over your normal calories, but if you are anything like me you will probably walk twice as much as normal. I never track calories when I travel…

Run without music? Worst. Idea. Ever. Having uninterrupted time to listen to my music is part of why I run.

I don't particularly like Oreos either. There's just no payoff for the calories. I'd much rather have warm, chewy oatmeal raisin cookies :)

I have a love/hate relationship with running. First, I didn't start with running. I started with walking, lots and lots of walking. As I started walking faster I started feeling wither urges to run. But running does sometimes cause my joints to ache. The doctor says my joints are fine (just getting a bit older) and I just…
