Second this idea - that is what I do.

What better way to spend a cold (-1 C), snowy/rainy/icy Easter morning than a run - 5.75 km this morning along city sidewalks and trails.
-
Of course it is important to be supportive and, yes, I agree that a healthy diet is important; however, for the OP to state that: is offensive. I have watched too many people fight cancer with every fibre of their being to be anything other than offended by this.

Congratulations - great work! Love thrift store shopping, both for the great deals and the 'treasure hunting' process.
-
@ana_varn Thanks - definitely upping the water intake. Funny, hadn't really thought about the sodium but certainly more aware now.
-
@Brans34 Thank you for your encouragement - I do appreciate it. I think you may be quite right about the sodium. The pre-Easter food, while within my calorie goals, includes way too much ham! Will try the extra water.

@Madwife2009 - I enjoy your recounting of the activities you do - both your bike rides & with your family. Just wanted to say that I am in awe of how you obviously treasure and enjoy your times as a family. That comes across very clearly in your posts.

About six weeks after originally taking my measurements, I took them again this morning and was delighted that over the three measurements that I had taken, there was a total loss of 3 1/2". So happy with that, since I seem to be bouncing around with the same 2 to 3 lbs up and down over the last few weeks. Definitely…

We had a potluck lunch today at work. We have these every month or two and there are always lots of goodies. Before I committed to this journey, I would have had serious helpings of everything. Today, I still tried everything but just a tiny spoonful or serving of each. Definitely a NSV for me - feeling good about it.
-
@marianlyn My heart goes out to you on the loss of your son.

Okay - 1/3 of the way to my monthly goal.

Shorter run than I would have liked due to other commitments today, but a good run nevertheless.

Hoping to increase a bit this month to 60 km.

I'm sorry to say this, but this person is not a 'friend' . From your posts, she has: - made you feel like crap, 'like you can't do anything right' - belittles your efforts to improve your health and fitness - forced you to choose between her and other friends - "I've cut off ties with friends before...and the only reason…

@theskinnyonme - that's fantastic!

Last planned run of the month this afternoon. Thrilled to have met my goal of 50 km. After a knee injury that didn't seem to be healing, in February I was still struggling with getting my head around the possibility of not being able to return to running. Still not 100% but the runs feel good!
-
Agree with this. Can't stress enough how important it is to be fitted for the correct shoes - both to enjoy the experience and to avoid injury. I'm 59 now, run on average 3X per week (although not high mileage), and hope to keep on doing so for many years to come.

Made me laugh

And thrift shops - have founds some amazing (new with tags) stuff there.

For years I attributed the slow but steady weight gain to menopause. I would halfheartedly track on MFP but didn't seem to get anywhere - in fact, gained!!! Then, in January of this year, I got fed up with myself and started weighing, measuring, and seriously logging food and beverages. HOLY CRAP - no wonder the weight was…

^This - been using Enell for years for running. There isn't anything pretty or sexy about them BUT they hold the girls - they're not moving anywhere!!!!
-
Weather forecast for this morning was freezing rain/ice pellets - decided to go for a run anyway. No rain, no ice, run felt good. 6.3 km this morning.
-
Next mini-goal is to reach 190 - 3.6 lbs away. When I have a 'reward' to work toward, I seem to do better  Reaching that goal will mean a shopping trip for a pair of running shoes that I have been lusting after: Saucony Freedoms!
