  • Yes. I thought they were really gross but I think frosted flakes is a mediocre cereal to begin with.
  • Read nutrition labels on everything. That's how I figured out that the "kiddie" kraft mac and cheese with character shaped pasta is lower calorie than the classic kraft for some freaking reason.
  • I went this morning and I loved it! The instructor was super friendly and came up to ask if I was new as soon as I went in. She helped me adjust the bike and said to modify as much as I need and that it was ok to leave at the 30 minute mark if I felt like I had enough at that point. I ended up staying the whole hour and…
  • Lol I will be sure to update with a more satisfying story if I have a true brush with death at the class.
  • For that many calories you can get a slice of cheesecake factory cheesecake with whipped cream in any flavor you like. Imagine wasting that many calories on a crappy grocery store brownie.
  • Report the racist behavior to gym staff. He can claim you just happen to have the same routine if you accuse him of that but the racist *kitten* is undeniable if you have a witness (which it sounds like you could get pretty easily). Alternatively you can wait for him to throw out his back or get arrested in a roid rage…
  • Yeah this doesn't pass the sniff test. Being antsy and impatient for your teenage daughter to lose weight is strange. I'm also having a hard time believing that a pediatrician advised you to control your teenage daughter's eating so she can get to the 'low end' of a normal BMI. Not that this matters because this whole…
  • I like my Jabra true wireless earbuds. They're specifically for physical activity so they're sweat and water resistant. That was the main reason I got them over AirPods but when they die I will probably get AirPods because the Jabra ones are a little too bulky for my dainty ears and I use Apple products anyway so the…
  • Saying there is an association between glucose and heart disease is like saying there is an association between breaking a bone and drinking water. 100% of people on this planet have glucose in their bodies so of course this will also apply to everyone with cancer or heart disease.
  • Their marketing is dumb but I don't think anyone takes it seriously or has much impact on who goes to their gyms (other than eliminating serious weightlifters). When I went to a Planet Fitness it was mostly middle-aged women and teenagers. Now I go to an Anytime Fitness where almost all the floor space is dedicated to…
  • This is something to ask your doctor about, and maybe see a dietician as well. Nobody here is qualified to say what could happen in your particular situation, and certainly should not be saying that keto treats (or causes) liver disease.
  • For fruits, raspberries are the highest in fiber in ratio to the calories. I wish they weren't also one of the priciest! Also when pets have poopy issues I've been told to give them pumpkin puree for the fiber. I don't see why that wouldn't translate for humans as well.
  • https://www.brandnewvegan.com/recipes/best-damn-vegan-chili-ever Someone posted this recipe on MFP and I made it tonight with boca crumbles. It was INCREDIBLE. I made a few tweaks, I used a tablespoon of oil to sauté the veggies, added like 2 teaspoons of sugar and a teaspoon of salt. I'm going to eat it all fall/winter.
  • I'm 5'4" (actually 5' 3.5" ish but I'm maintaining the slight exaggeration) and the airplane seat thing is completely worth everything imo. I can act pathetic and helpless at the grocery store so someone else gets an item off the top shelf for me, tall people have no alternative other than buying expensive airplane…
  • When I heard about this I felt pretty vindicated- I've never found those little tips and tricks like eating on a smaller plate helpful at all. Like I can get up and get more food even if the plate is small.
  • I cannot fathom why anyone considers plain air-popped popcorn a good snack. Even if you try to season it the seasoning doesn't stick. Reduced fat cream cheese is very disappointing. It has a weird grainy texture, not worth it. I used to like Halo Top but once I tried Enlightened and Chilly Cow I stopped buying it.…
  • Bean chili. Bean-based soups. On the soups sometimes I will puree an extra can of beans into the broth so it's a little bit thicker and adds protein as well. Certain vegetables like broccoli are very protein dense for the calories. Egg whites and string cheese if you eat them. You can also get vegan or vegetarian protein…
  • Intellectually I totally agree, but for me personally I have morning person envy. I love the feeling of finishing work for the day and having no responsibilities left but I don't get up early enough for that to be a reality most days.
  • To be fair I interpreted this as starting work before 9 am, not waking up (it says clock-in before 9). I work from home three days a week and my work gives me broad latitude to set my own hours those days. Not proud that I have slept in until 10 am on a Wednesday before (followed by an 11-7 day).
  • I can't answer that question for four reasons. 1. I have no information about OP's medical history (and neither do you). 2. I have no information about OP's family history (and neither do you). 3. I have no information about any other risk factors OP might have (and neither do you). 4. I'm not a doctor and neither are you.…
  • How do you know your energy would be poor on a high carb diet? Have you had this issue in the past? You can follow whatever diet makes sense for you but it really looks like Occam's razor needs to be considered here.
  • I workout a few hours after dinner- I'm in a deficit right now so my main motivation is preserving muscle. I find that if I go after I've eaten most of my calories for the day I can push myself more than if I go earlier in the day. My job is sedentary so I don't burn many calories during the day. I could work on sleep,…
  • 5% carbs is nothing which is why it is not enough to keep your body out of ketosis. Keto wouldn't be keto if you could get all the energy you need from 5% carbohydrate. My post probably should have said almost no carbs but I had the exact same experience when I was trying low carb.
  • The problem is you're not eating carbs which is a much more readily available energy source for your body. Maybe try regular low carb instead of strict keto.
  • Lol!! By their logic the baby oil would also be absorbed, but since baby oil is not digestible that would turn into an anal leakage situation really quick.
  • I do realize this but the only rationale I've read is that squats are the most tiring so you want to do them first. If I switch the order and don't find this to be an issue, is there any other reason this would be harmful?
  • I rest for as long as the program prescribes, 1.5-3 minutes between sets. The fatigue lasts for quite some time after I'm done at the gym so I'm not sure if adding a few extra minutes would do anything.
  • Duh. Embarrassing that I didn't figure that out on my own. Thanks!
  • Ok, so Google U degree as suspected. Regardless of your qualifiers you clearly were trying to defend extreme low carb diets as healthy even if someone's blood work does not reflect that. Adding "IMO" does not make it ok to tell OP to disregard medical advice as you did in your last sentence. Bye.
  • It's not a licensure issue for the most part. You can go to a physical therapist without a referral in most states, the catch is you will almost certainly run into insurance issues. Like many treatments in the American healthcare system, you probably can have all the PT your heart desires (depending on your state) as long…
