  • My dad was in the same situation this year and he finally came around to the same conclusion your mom did; he misses my stepmother (we all do), but ultimately, she would have wanted him to carry on, make connections and continue doing things that make him happy (like bowling, gardening and hanging out with his camping…
  • My favorite is when I go out of my way to rake/sweep them all up, only to have the lawn care people for our neighborhood blow them all BACK INTO MY PORCH AREA with their leaf blowers. Like, c'mon.. really? :|
  • Knowledge and comfort in said knowledge.
  • Rated X (seriously, the alcohol I haven't seen since I turned 21 suddenly showed back up in stores).
  • Putting this here instead of in the serious thread because it's more an internal quandary and less something that would lead to serious issues (for me, anyway): Why is it that I don't hate myself (either in what I can do or how I appear) until I see other people and realize how drastically short of the non-existent goal…
  • The thirst quotient in these forums rose exponentially in the last year or so, I noticed. :smirk:
  • "Documentaries" that are really just thinly veiled propaganda. Even worse when they are touted as "educational" by folks who have probably never even read a history book (or multiple differing historical texts) to derive their own opinions on the matter.
  • Until your kitten decides to "play" with them, that is. :smirk:
  • Yes, I'm on Windows (Windows 7, to be precise). Haven't tried the mode for tablet/phone yet.
  • Is it just my imagination or did participation in yon' forums crash dramatically after the new forum was updated? Like people took that as the "nail in the coffin" as it were and just vanished? This place seems more like a ghost town than it did the last time I went away for awhile and came back.
  • That's fine. I don't mean I want the personal stories of the victims; they deserve anonymity (especially in cases that involve violent assault or murder). I meant more from a standpoint of the documentary being "all about the personal lives of the accused/convicted" and all about their personal back story, which may or may…
  • Existing.. barely. Think I'm going through "an episode". Also, it's weird when you have a migraine, take something for it and can feel that it's still there, barely hovering.. only being abated by the OTC meds you took to make it go away. It's... disorienting, really.
  • The migraine that won't leave. Netflix documentaries that glorify killers and perpetrators of violent crimes, but leave out or completely gloss over the massive amount of victims left in the wake. Stop glorifying serial killers and violent offenders.
  • Good to know, thanks!
  • Not an irk, but because so many of us were irked by the lack of a dark mode, there are work-arounds (at least on Firefox/Chrome). Firefox has an extension called "Dark Mode" and yes, it does work on this site. MY EYES ARE THANKING ME NOW. Chrome users have an extension, too.. and someone posted the link to it in the Forum…
  • I've been here since early 2017. I have no idea why at this point since I haven't really "lost" anything outside of my sanity since then. I just bounce around the same 10lb, it seems. I have only had this one account, however, I did change my name (you can only do it once, though, I guess). I'm addicted to maintaining an…
  • I hope so. I really liked having better emoji choices. I also want to know when and if they are going to change the home page and the rest of the site (including our feeds) to reflect the changes here. It's really weird popping back and forth between different page styles, fonts and placement of links depending on which…
  • Please consistently stay with one thing, MFP. You gave me expanded emojis yesterday and immediately after the change, but now I'm back to those crappy basic ones I've been forced to use on desktop for YEARS. Stop changing the good stuff back to crap and vice versa.
  • I usually make polite chit-chat with them because hey, you never know how *kitten* their day might have been, what with working in retail and all.. so I have some sympathy. And if they are polite enough to converse with me, I can at least give them the benefit of the doubt and chit-chat away to make their day brighter,…
  • I was worried that our child would not like the cake I made since it wasn't one of the options I remembered him giving to me for a theme, but I shouldn't have worried. He absolutely loved all the things he got, including the Pusheen themed cake. I also worried that it would be poked fun of, because I'm not good at cake…
  • Okay, suggestions (not that they'll listen): *Right-hand sidebar: Have the sidebar scroll down as people scroll down the page. That cuts down on the giant *kitten* white space on the right-hand of the screen after the first five-ish replies. *Bring back the links to the preceding forum at the bottom of the page. It's…
  • People in crowded spaces. I already have issues dealing with auditory input in crowds or when multiple people are speaking/saying/doing something in my vicinity, but there's just something about the absolute carelessness of other people when they're in crowded places that grinds my gears. I understand having a good time,…
  • The white space (especially as off-centered as it is on Firefox (PC)) is really grating on my eyes. Either put stuff in the sidebar of white on the right or give me the option of "dark mode" like a lot of other sites offer. There is no reason to have that much white space on either side of the forum text.
  • Bored programmers. 🤣
  • 🎶 Blinded by the white, revved up on some juice, another in the light 🎶 Oh, wait.. those aren't the words. Seriously, I'm blind(ed) by the glow, y'all.
  • I'm mentally dancing to this song now, thanks.
  • Relaxing. I just finished up all the stuff I had to do for my son's birthday tomorrow, including decorating a cake by myself, cleaning, etc. Somehow, I managed to get it all done.
  • No, but prefacing it by saying there was no "maybe" option. There are things I like, but usability is seriously lacking atm. I don't necessarily hate the layout or potential new features, it's just.. different and hard to navigate right now? Also, bring back the feature that tells me how many new replies are in a thread…
  • Maybe those are all the "crumbs" they're talking about. 😂
  • This is fair. She shouldn't have to change if it's not bothering her nor affecting her negatively. Good on her! For me, personally, the only time I "change" is when personal well-being is taking such a hit due to mental health struggles that I have to actively seek help, either by reaching out and talking to someone I know…
