I'm 5'2. I started at 161 and am 116 now.

Intriguing. Thanks for your perspective.

Good perspective, I think I have come to terms with what maintenance will be like for me. You're right, it's not like you hit goal and then have free reign of the fridge! But on the other hand, there is a different mentality, I think, between when you are in weight loss mode vs maintainance, and I think it's that weight…

I honestly didn't think I'd even make it past a few weeks in deficit. I had never dieted before, grew up thin, and basically put on a little bit of weight with each pregnancy I had (I have five kids, so that adds up). For the longest time I just thought, "this is how moms look" and left it at that. The straw that broke the…

My husband stopped drinking soda during Lent, and he inadvertantly lost about 10 pounds. He wasn't that heavy to begin with either. But if you really like it, you could moderate your consumption, or drink diet.

But I do exercise, usually 30-40 minutes five days a week is all I can manage. I do barre3 online workouts while they are in "quiet time". I'm not…

I'm 5'2.5 and started at 161, and was a size 12. I'm 133 now, and a size 8. I feel pretty good with how I look now, but still have lingering problem areas, so I'm not quite done losing. I'm aiming for 110, but I really just pulled that number from a hat, so I may be fine at a higher weight.

I am a sahm as well, with five homeschooling children. So I hear ya. I do barre3 online workouts during their nap/quiet time. It works for me, and is very low impact as well, which I like.

never mind. For some reason only the first line of my reply posted. I don't have time right now to rewrite it. But I can definitely relate to what you're saying!

When I first came on mfp in January, I had just started with slimfast. I had never dieted before, and I was intimidated by calorie counting and foods scales. I figured I'd try the shakes for two weeks and decide from there. For me, the shakes seemed like a good way to start if you didn't have a clue what you were doing.…
