I found to begin, I had to start with 3 frozen meals and 1 preportioned snack (like a granola) a day. While these aren't the healthiest, it kept me under my calorie goal and helped me start understanding portions better. I would eat the healthiest or these preportioned (unhealthy) meals, such as Steamers or evol. I am able…

Can I ask how do you grieve over someone you love and hate?

Thank you all. I know it is silly to post somewhere public like this, but I want to tell people. Cause it is crazy she died and it is just this singular event no one knows or cares about but us. And I can talk to you guys here and not hurt anyone and get advice without feeling ashamed or as sad.

She died last night of heart failure, most likely do to all the bad behaviors her disorder used to cope.

Try to do something enjoyable to feel better and distract yourself! Play a game or go for a walk.

Thank you! This makes me feel more confident in my decision. Would anyone recommend PRK instead? I heard it is better if you like sports and scuba diving.

To do this, I limit how often I weigh myself and I let myself eat anything as long as it is under my calorie goal. I also make it a point to have days I do not calorie count but only eat till I am full. I focus on health and strength and not numbers. I get what you mean! It definitely sometimes makes me start to fall back…

This mentions it could be another term for a different disorder. http://www.healthieryou.com/mhexpert/exp1082503b.html Here are some ED books I read and felt were helpful:…

I am so sorry to hear that, and hope you are on a journey healing from her. My mother has BPD and it is very hard to reconcile the fact they are mentally ill with the fact they are hurting you. I also wonder how much of it is "her fault". At the end of the day, I have decided it doesn't matter, that if someone is hurting…

I am sharing my experience and answering questions about my own experience and what I have learned in school, not counseling.

This is a long answer! Basically, it is a lifelong process because an eating disorder often becomes a mindset. My first step was therapy, and they taught me coping mechanisms. "Eating by the Light of The Moon" was a very helpful book. I had to throw out my scale and start listening to my body to tell me when it was hungry.…

All these cuties! I want them!

Aw! I had a pekingese and absolutely adored him

Great point! Just like having diabetes, a cold, heart disease, and other physical issues, mental diseases often come in pairs (co morbidity) because if one is not treated you are likely to get more. For example, untreated anxiety can lead to depression which can lead to coping with an eating disorder. Just like a broken…

Try method 4, increasing the hours between taking him out. Also, feed him on a schedule twice a day and take the food and water away when he is done and take him out 10 minutes after. Put him in the crate when you are gone. Never leave him for more than 4 hours in a crate. Try leaving for 10 minutes or an hour with him in…
