It does not hurt you at all to go without carbs. Look into the Ketogenic diet. Many athletes are using that diet.

Just lowering calories is not helpful. In the end it only makes the body drop it's resting metabolic weight. Have you tried ketogenic dieting? [edited by MFP Moderators]
