I'm 5'2" and started at 161, I've lost 5 lbs in 4 weeks and I eat 1200 cal/day and haven't added exercise in until next week ... I needed to get my eating under control.

I agree. I just say "No thank you" and it works. I've never felt pressured into eating anything they buy or bake. Most people I work with just responds with "Good, more for me" and I just smile.

It is my husband, 18 yr old daughter, 2 1/2 yr old daughter and myself. I spend about $225 every 2 weeks. I buy fruits and veggies at our local produce store and get the other stuff at Walmart. I use the Savings Catcher and just put that money towards the next bill and I'm always cutting coupons too!

I wish I could stay away from my scale :( I'm obsessed with weighing myself every morning after my shower :( I would let her weigh you and put the date and weight on a piece of paper and fold it up. You can decide later if you want to see your progress!!!

I feel a bit hungrier a few days before, but the day I start I lose my appetite (I get bad cramps and back aches). If I want a cookie or a cupcake, I eat it and just account for it and work it into my calories. Most days I'm under calories, so if 1 day a week I go a bit over, I just own it and move on :)

Welcome! I have been doing this for 3 1/2 weeks - the most important thing is to log EVERYTHING that hits your lips! lol! Weigh and measure everything! I eat a piece of toast, hard boiled egg and 2 pieces of turkey bacon. I just eliminated caffeine from my diet and only drink water (and occasionally beer - lol). Lunch I do 1/2 pita with either chicken salad or sautéed shrimp, peppers, onions and mushrooms and grapes or a banana. I'm on 1200/cal day.

When you friend someone, they can see your diary and you can "post" on your wall and they can see that and comment. It just gives some accountability and people to ask questions to and help celebrate with you and to pick you up when you 'fall'. We did cards and my husband is taking our 2 year old and I out to dinner. Already deciding my choices so I am not veered off when I get there. lol!

Pinterest is a great place to see foods/recipes. I've gotten a lot from there. I've also just put in the foods I eat: shrimp, chicken, rice, veggies, etc. and create things with what I enjoy eating.

I eat breakfast @ 8:45 - snack @ 10:15ish - Lunch @ 12:30 - snack @ 3 - dinner 5:30-6 and then my last snack around 8:30. If I have bigger meals and don't do a snack, I brush my teeth (even at work) so I don't eat again - lol!

I went from eating approximately 3000 cal/day to 1200. The first few days was hard, but then I was fine. Some days I only get in 1000-1100 and I'm not hungry. I cut out soda, coffee and sweets. I drink a ton of water and drink water in between bites of meals/snacks and I get fuller faster. Good Luck!

My favorite sandwich: 2 slices of 35 Cal bread; 1 piece of ultra thin Sargento cheese (40 cal); sliced dill pickle, sliced onions, sliced avocado, sliced tomato; sliced jalapenos; light mayo and mustard - SOO delicious and filling :) I also boil eggs on Sunday for breakfast or to add to my salad.
