  • I took Beta Blockers for about 4 months a few years ago. Had no energy at all. Didn't feel like doing anything but sleeping. Just sharing my experience and not saying this happens to all.
  • I used to count the weeks but stopped. Been doing OMAD since the start of the new year. We are in September now, so 9+ months. Easy for me because I have always tended to eat one large meal a day and then snack later in the evening. I'm also a low-carb person. OMAD is not for everyone but it doesn't hurt to try for a few…
  • Great comment. Daily you read here comments like "I just stated a diet and plan to work out three hours a day". Comments like these always bring me to, just start in the kitchen for a few weeks. Awesome if you want to exercise but don't try to solve every problem in a single day. Once the kitchen issues are on track, you…
  • Welcome to being an adult. Most of us too were thinner and didn't think much about our diet when in college. Once you enter the working world, things change. Add a spouse, children, grandchildren, house, car, vacations, etc. and weight/food/exercise doesn't always stay first on our priorities list. This forum and others…
  • Some people go to bed early. The later they stay up, the more tempted they are. The other thought, don't keep tempting food in the house.
  • I've been doing OMAD for 8 months with good success. It's not for everyone but it works well for me. The calories in/out people are likely correct in that this is a way to restrict calories. This is so simple to stick to, eventually, you don't even think about being on a diet, it's a way of life. When on vacation, I've…
  • I drink coffee with a splash of Almond milk, no sweetener, and don't count it. Did some research before starting and most people but not all would not count coffee, tea, or water. If you add a lot of sugar, maybe but it's up to you.
  • Day 1 is a great day. Getting to Day 1 often takes time. Congratulations.
  • When I'm on vacation, I like to drink beer around a campfire or sitting on a pier or edge of lake. I don't drink to the point of hangover or even getting drunk but I like beer. I've been drinking Bud 55 or Miller 64. I'm not a beer snob and grew up around the saying, my favorite beer, free beer. Even if you had a dozen Bud…
  • I don't care for it at all either. Stopped using the app and use only the PC version.
  • I like this post! I didn't see this addition but maybe I missed it. "I drink 6 gallons of water a day and still am not losing weight ". And " I gave up soda, caffeine, or smoking and I'm not losing weight "
  • I couldn't agree more. Find the new dashboard a mess.
  • You do you. Whatever works, it sounds great! Your goals sound perfectly reasonable. Good luck and you will feel great if you achieve your goal.

  • Congratulations on your weight loss! How awesome is this story!
  • Just got back from a week of vacation late on Sunday. On one of these MFP vacation threads recently, I commented to enjoy your time away and make smart choices. During my vacation had meals with friends, some beer, and fun. Jumped on the scale first thing Monday morning and found that I lost 2 pounds over the week. Made…
  • I'm the same way. Added a bit more lettuce to a salad tonight because I know it will be spoiled before I make another salad.

  • Congratulations! Great story.
  • Good luck with your plan, great reading. I've been on OMAD for 19 weeks. Easiest diet that I've ever been on because it's so simple. Only was hungry once, so far. Good amount of weight lost. This will not work for everyone but for some, this works great. Keep up the super positive attitude and this is going to work.

  • When some people start with weight loss, instead of just focusing on food, they immediately start an exercise routine and drink a lot of water. Maybe just focus on food for a few weeks and then start the exercise routine, once you are certain about the calorie deficit. I think that you are doing great too.
  • Is this a humble brag? :) :D
  • I like this comment. Certainly true for me. The point that I also wanted to add, daily weighing myself is something that I started a few months back. This has really helped. With my scale's app, and automatic tracking, you can see the historical trends and a brief hovering at a single weight is not a concern. Also, the…
  • I'm on week 18 of OMAD and find that it works great for me. I've read a lot about the benefits from fasting and watched lots of videos. All good information and after 18 weeks, the calorie reduction people are likely correct. But it works, for me. This is not something that is going to work for everyone. I don't feel…
  • When people start a diet and comment here, some want to solve every issue today. Starting today, I'm going to eat healthy, eat less, and start an ambitious exercise program. I think if you start with one variable and over time, work on the other variables, it's easier and likely to be more successful. Starting buy just…
  • What a great statement! This could be added properly to so many threads here. I'll think about this, the next time I read here about a two month plateau. Thanks for posting this.
  • I'm on week 14 of OMAD and drop a few pounds each week. This is so simple but I understand that it's not for everyone. Someone that likes to eat small meals, all day, this might not be for you. I'm someone that has never eaten breakfast. Skipping lunch is easy for me. I try to eat my meal as late in the evening as possible…
  • Enjoy yourself and don't make a huge issue out of your trying to lose weight. Make good choices, don't take home any left-overs, and pay closer attention next week. I agree with others that Easter is not as difficult as Thanksgiving though the first week of January. Easter is only one meal for most.
  • At age 68, I'm glad to see you still trying. I'm not too far behind you in age and have noticed lots of older people have just given up. Good luck and glad to see you still trying. :)
  • I'm on my 12th week of OMAD and find this to be the easiest diet that I've ever been on. Weight is down and this works for me. It's not for everyone though. No diet will ever be a single fix for everyone. When I think about people that go beyond and way beyond 24 hours without eating, I know that's not for me. I'm glad…
  • Some time back, I had very strong cravings for salted peanuts. This is not a food that I normally eat. I've thought about this a lot. I now believe it was because I might have not been eating enough salt. It's just my un-educated theory though. I've never had that craving since.
