JUST Me. but if your trying to lose weight, maintain weight, gain weight the mathematical formula applies. You have to count calories (or at least be somewhat aware of them) in order to reach what ever goal you have for yourself. Just my opinion.

good luck! stick with it and try to stay as true to the plan. you will see results!

@tcunbeliever if your avatar is your pic, you look great and results show! great job. i am going for a tape measure ASAP. thanks for sharing.

Ah the same questions I had for sure! If you are not hungry, dont eat. Your in essence fasting and fasting is when your body will turn to body fat for fuel, once you do get hungry eat at the macros you set - so you do get enough protein, not many carbs, and plenty of healthy fat. Good Luck! Once you get the science down…

The first 2-3 weeks S-U-C-K! I was grumpy, miserable, sore and tired. But it does get better, your body is saying WTF is going on. But here are my results!

Great! I am going to buy a tape measure ASAP!

Yep, I am going to buy a tape measure ASAP! Although I truly believe the scale is indicative of the physique we are all training to obtain, it is not the only means. The tape measure probably is a better tool. Especially since I am coming up to my ideal weight. The scale will probably become less effective and the tape…

Thanks all. After my complaining I woke up this morning and smashed through 195. At 193 the lowest I have been since I started this journey on January 2.
-
Thanks @GaleHawkins ! I definitely do not want any regain
-
Thanks @genmon00 I appreciate and thats why I asked for others experiences. I will propably keep weighing (I am a bit obsessed at the moment and do not want to relapse - I feel like if I dont watch it I will creep back to where I was) but I wont worry as much about it.
-
Thanks - my calories are set at 1700 per day, the first 8wks was at 1200, but I stopped that. But it sure is tempting to go back because the weight is not coming off. I will probably keep the 1700 calories and up the cardio. Looking for any "get into second gear" I am 6 feet tall.

Thanks @MyriiStorm ... just concerning when you had such a good run and then it doesnt seem to be working.

You dont have to weigh yourself everyday. You can weigh yourself monthly, weekly, bi-weekly anytime you want. Just keep doing it. You will see the results over time any way that makes sense for you.

Steve - my diet is 75% fat, 20% protein and 5% carbs. I truly believe that weight loss is Calorie In vs Calorie out. How you get your calories macro wise is up to you. I started my diet on Jan 2 and I do cardio at least 3x a week. I make sure I am calorie deficient. Down from 221 to 195 and shooting for 175. GLTY!

Awesome I just found out that you can "ignore" members. I saw a troller here, who bashed LCHF on another discussion board but was in our group. I ignored and life is good again. This board's policy prohibits me from naming any users in this manner, so I will abide by them.

Ah man - there is a lurker here that knows it all. I will have to find another forum.

The knowledge friendliness and support keeps me coming back

I am following a LCHF diet, and I TRULY believe that at the end of the day the "Calorie In vs Calorie Out" model holds true. How you get there is your choice (Low Fat, Paleo, LCHF, etc..) from personal experience I lost 1-2 lbs/wk during a Low Fat diet, but once I switched to Low Carb diet I started losing 4lbs wk.…

OMG I thought it was just me!!!

I'm sorry What was the Question again?

As a newbie, treat all carbs as bad! Yes, even fruits and berries. Once you attain you ideal then maybe you can get a bit more lenient. I limit nuts, and rarely have berries (I love them and would not be able to stop, blowing my carb allowance for sure). For the sausage, it is the fillers and added sugar. You have to read…

Luckily my 8 year old son is not a candy fan. He gets a NHL Hockey Team Jersey instead. No problem at my house!

This post is AWESOME and was very timely, for I am stuck!

Chicken soup is not high carb if you remove the noodles and cut down on the number of carrots. Broth is best to get back from a flu. The sodium is great to help you recover from the dehydration flu induces.

Your getting alot of ideas, but its simple. Your sides will be a non starchy vegetable and fat. Spinach/butter. Brocolli/Cheese or a thousand other variations. Mine is salad with full fat dressing.

It all depends on where you are in your journey (regarding what will I eat, how much and when). I am in full ketosis. I love it! Never super hungry. I am in the stage right now where I fear carbs, because I know if I have those chips, or beans that it will knock me out of Ketosis and it will take 2-3 days to get back into…
-
You will be in for a culinary shock to your system for sure. You must cut the chips, beans. You can have the ground beef, cheese, lettuce, jalapenos, olives, add back the sour cream (yogurt might have sugar - but plain yogurt is ok read the label). The acceptable carbs on this diet are found in small amounts in non-starchy…

i agree you want to be on a 2lb per week sustainable pace! That is great. 18lbs is great. I didnt notice my weight loss until my wife said my neck looked skinnier. I still dont feel like I am there, but I lost 25 lbs since Jan 1 - so it must have done something.
-
you asked so here it is.. I am feeling awful today!

Keep going and if you can avoid the surgery, by all means it seems that this should be your route. This is so good to read!
