  • A few months ago I would have said (wait I did say and was adamant) that cheating was a slippery slope, but now I say - If you need it, go for it. I say this with a big BUT, the but is, if you have truly mastered the LCHF and can get back to the discipline of the WOE, then a special occasion is no problem, just don't make…
  • Umm based on my photo, Low Carb not only keeps away the gray but recinds the hairline too! Ugghhh
  • Umm... Sunny Bunny, Wow! (your updated profile pic)
  • You have to be in calorie deficit (no matter what kind of diet your doing) in order to lose weight. That was a big and first learning for me. No guarantee that if your 20 g or less that you will lose weight. You need to be in a calorie deficit.
  • We are all there at some point! I am trying to convince myself to have cheat days on the weekend, to introduce fruit back. Maybe some other not so low carb options on the weekends. But as we all know the weekend will turn into an additional day during the week, then two and before you know it - game over.
  • I had my photo taken for work and was super impressed with thin-ness of my face. The receding hair line - no so impressive
  • I may or may have not eaten this fat bomb as a meal
  • OMG your right! Pillows are low carb, right? A lot of fiber for sure.
  • try to eliminate processed foods, and foods with added sugars. Go whole foods and keep those foods under in a calorie deficit. for me it was too many sugars. I thought I was eating so healthy! Yogurt, and whole grain breads, whole wheat bagels, diet and low fat foods. WOW was I wrong! I didnt lose weight until I cut out…
  • My personal opinion: That was a load of c$%^ If your on a low carb diet you are on a low carb diet, always, there is no "carbing up" on this woe.
  • Be the first to create that cookie and you will become a millionaire!
  • I know how you feel, I too try different things that "substitute" for my prior carb favorites, but many fall flat. For now these are in. I will try them in different recipes. A food that is no calories? Wow i am going to give it a real close look!
  • Time to cut the alcohol out. You will be much better off for it.
  • Yes, my brother who is not extremely overweight but has a host of inflammation issues, and I know would benefit from the LCHF diet, looked at my results and said "how did you do it". I told him all about it. I was excited that he was going to give it a shot and I wanted to see the health improvements. BUT, he couldnt make…
  • @kpk54 This was awesome! Certainly hit home and for all those who do not have any medical issues they need to read this! Over and over. The sensitivity factor and being nice sometimes is not what those who need to make life changing choice need, they need brutal truth. My brother couldnt make it One Day on the LCHF diet.…
  • This should not only be a sticky, but the OP original post should be plastered on the main page and required reading for all who join this thread. I will have my Tough Love, brutally honest moment here. The OP summarizes what I have been feeling lately when I see the "Can I cheat", "I fell off the wagon", "I am not seeing…
  • I have been so good and have stuck to the plan since Jan 1. I have lost 35 lbs and do not want to go back. So I do not cheat or slip. I don't feel deprived like I thought I would so it's easier for me.
  • bananas and honey are also not a good low carb choice. but hey if it fits your macros - go for it.
  • There is nothing quicker nor more Low Carb friendly than eggs and bacon, thats all I do. If you dont mind being boring and I dont this is pretty simple and there is no prep. Oats have too many carbs to be in my diet.
  • While technically you can eat whatever you want as long as your carbs are under your goal (and if you are going for Ketosis - thats 20g max). Everyone is different for sure so find your carb count that works. For Ketosis I can say pretty confidently no fruits or starchy vegetables or bread. One banana is 23 grams of carbs…
  • This said it much better than I...
  • No one said reaching your goals is easy. For those of us who feel we have been successful it came with will power and our ability to understand that bread is not a means to reach our goals. It comes down to you and your decisions. We are here for encouragement (although as I am writing this I can see that this might now…
  • Started Keto in January down 33 lbs. Any diet where I can eat my favorite food: chicken wings - and lose weight effortlessly is for me!
  • oh you are posting pictures of actual cats....my bad
  • I think you answered your own question: "lazy keto"...which suggests that you are not adapting your body to the full effects. So your body is retaing the water that is shed once you are low carb adapted. I saw results right away but I stuck to the plan without any deviation and did cardio at the same time (mainly…
  • Yep - so many people number one dont understand Ketosis and think you have to be in it to be low carb. No the case. Funny this obsession with Ketosis. Simply be a low carber and see how it goes. If your not getting the results you expect/want. Go lower on the carbs to see if that works for ya. I am with @Lemucart12 dont…
  • Eat when your hungry, do not force it if you dont want too. Many of us Intermittent Fast, which sometimes leads to going under the recommended calorie goal. I must have plenty of stored energy because now that I am fat adapted I do not get hungry and sometimes end up fasting for 24 hours without wanting to eat. I am still…
  • what side effects are you concerned about? but yes you can do low carb without striving for ketosis. low carb has a wide range definition of 0-100 grams per day.
  • I just jumped right in and modified it as I went along and learned more
