make my own, you wont find any commercially processed salad dressing that does not contain canola or soybean oil

Leeches are still used! OMG ... that is amazing, bet they are high in protein. Would fit a LCHF diet.

MCT oil

This question/concern comes up so much! I understand, I was there too. First comment have is, you made a specific point to call out "net carbs". To get losing again, I would change for a while to "total carbs". This could get you back on track and ensure that you are not over-carbing it.

our ancestors did only live 30-40 years, didnt have access to medical care we do now, a paper cut could lead to death from infection (ok I know they didnt have paper back then - just making a point). Also they used to use leaches to heal some disease. Wow I am shocked and amused by those statements.
-
umm by his profile picture he seems to know about carbs!

Very funny, but I would tailor the *Cravings rule. Craving a carb/sweet etc.. should be given a third degree and understood that the body does not need carbs, period. However, if your craving a certain healthy/whole food your body might be lacking a nutrient that whole food provides.

No more than 4-6oz per meal.
-
It is chemically processed so that may be where the "trace" amount comes from.

I doubt that they really meant you look older. Sounds like pure jealousy, I was told I look younger and I believe EVERYONE looks younger the slim'er they are. My aunt is 90 years old, skinny and looks in her early 70's.

From KeitoDietapp.com "Other types of sugar alcohols are Sorbitol, Maltitol, Lactitol, etc. Almost all of these affect blood sugar levels. Be careful with any "low-carb" or "zero-carb" products. All these commonly use Maltitol that affects blood sugar but is omitted from the net carbs count. It's a good marketing strategy,…

If it comes in a box, can or sealed package I avoid it. This is a processed food manufacturered and marketed.

@genmon00 oh that is with almond flour? I am going to try that. I am getting lazy with the pan pizza, its so easy. but the almond flour one I need to try.

Being from Buffalo NY - we were weened on Pizza and Chicken Wings. On this WOE Chicken Wings are no problem, for me I love PIZZA. I tried the cauliflower crusts - yuk. BUT I do make pizza in a frying pan and OMG. Simply turn the stove on a low heat. But the Cheese down, dab a little sauce, put down some pepperoni and slow…

Ok then do a Google search for "Does Leafy Greens Remove Toxins from the Liver" and 4.4MM results come back. Discredit each of those. and then Google "does excess protein cause toxins in the liver" 41MM results will come back. Geez...I picked one video and the back lash. There are literally million of other sources.

Yeah, because his advice to eat green vegetables is sooo crazy, he must be a quack. Who would listen to that kind of advice....Wow...I am done with this thread.
-
Yep once I realized that I backed away.... Doesn't make his information false. People really love to go after each other.

No this is not about constipation, its about removing the toxins/acids that can build up in liver if you are on a high fat moderate protein diet.
-
Yep, keep your macros in line and you should be able too do it and stay Keto. I prefer to keep green vegetables in my diet because I believe that the nutrients in them will flush out the fatty acids that accumulate from the HF and protein. But thats just me. Keep your macros in the Keto zone and have fun.
-
Thanks Dragon, I was responding to someone who asked if this would affect ketosis.
-
75% Fat, 20% Protein, 5% Carbs
-
Thanks Fit, once I realized that this isn't for keto - I understood. Plus, if the protein is kept in the proper proportion with fat and like you say in point 3 which is crucial, not a eat massive/high protein then all is good. I still believe that green vegetables need to help remove the fatty acids that build up in the…

C'mon that was totally out of line. I said my peace on the whole - only meat idea and what newbies to the LCHF board might come away with. I think alot of people who come here are looking for a keto diet and getting into ketosis, which too much meat/protein without alot of fat in the diet will not achieve. I respected…

Too much protein will throw you out of ketosis.

So cool @lemurcat12 Thanks for hearing me out. I am IR resistant for sure. I do believe in the CICO no matter what diet you may be on. Either I mistyped something or it was mis-interpreted. The IF thread point I was trying to make is that it gives a person who is IR a better chance at weight loss by allowing longer period…
-
There are many reasons / benefits for IF. Now specifically to your comment about IR end up storing more fat, that is absolutely true. With elevated insulin levels the body blocks fat burning and any excess sugar/carbs are stored in the fat cells. The "resistant" part also means the body does not manage insulin effectively…
-
The answer to this question could be a book long but I will try to summarize. Depending on the person Carbs are not bad. If you are insulin resistant then a LCHF diet might be beneficial to you. If you are insulin resistant your body does not have a chance to burn body fat. Carbs raise insulin (all food does, but…

Nope, this is where people are missing it. For people who do not have an issue with insulin sensitivity, simply reducing calories will work with or without IF. IF works best for people with insulin sensitivity since it gives a longer period of time for the insulin to come down to normal/low levels allowing people then to…
