I drink very very little caffeine. I had to stop because it was triggering panic attacks. I have some decaf coffee once in a while, which of course does have a bit of caffeine in reality. Maybe a cup or two per month. I do like black tea, so I have a couple cups per week when the weather is cold. This is where most of my…

Ahaha. I haven't even weighed myself in almost two weeks. I assume I have stayed the same or gained. I am definitely eating better than I did before joining MFP, but I can't seem to get a handle on resisting food cravings. I keep trying to blame other things for my lack of willpower--I was sick for a while, tech problems…

I certainly don't have any recipes, but I can tell you what I'm doing, because it's definitely working for me. During the week I come up with a plan, on Friday evening or Saturday morning I shop, and I break the actual cooking up between Saturday and Sunday. Honestly I've never eaten lunches this good on a regular basis.…

Reporting in, because I poached some skinless boneless chicken breasts yesterday to great success. I laid the chicken in the bottom of my pot, added plenty of salt, spices, and herbs, and added enough water to cover the chicken by an inch. Brought the whole thing to a boil, then covered and reduced heat to low. Simmered…

Everything in this thread sounds so normal that I'm trying to think of what I eat that people might think is weird. I'm not coming up with much, but maybe putting a poached or over-easy egg on black beans, rice, or cold salads? It's delicious and creamy and perfect, and with cold salads provides a great temperature…

When I first started, I had no idea what to use as my goal weight, so I did some Googling and found six or seven "recommended" or "ideal" body weights for someone of my height and gender, which varied wildly. So I averaged them together! It gave me 161 pounds, so I set that as my goal. Then after losing about 50 pounds…

They're all fairly low in calories unless you use a lot, so I don't worry about it other than controlling the amount I use. At any given moment, I have a couple kinds of sugar, many kinds of honey, some maple syrup, some molasses, and some sorghum all on hand. Which to use just depends on what it's going with! I'm not…

Oh yes, the woo button is completely useless. It is to be ignored.

Thanks for your support. :) Before running took over my life I was doing a lot of hiking, which I really miss. I'm already feeling relief about this decision, tbh.

OP didn't say anything about their actual intentions; it sort of sounds like they were just going to present recipes. My assumption was a blog or something, which would be monetized with ads. It's a valid question, though; I asked about it in an edit in my post above before I saw your post.

I'm not a recipe follower, but I do appreciate food ideas presented as formulae and concepts. To give two examples: * For a reduced fat vinaigrette, I do equal parts acid, oil, and emulsifier (as opposed to the much oiler traditional ratio). * 400F for 20-40 minutes (depending on cut size) works to roast pretty much any…

I actually think it sounds fantastic. Avocado on toast, good! Honey on toast, good! Avocado and honey are in lots of things together, so it totally makes sense they'd be good together on toast! I can't think of any weird combos new to me since beginning my weight loss--but I have always been accused of eating weird things,…

My whole life is a problem, hardship, and issue right now! ...Okay, that's an exaggeration, I really have it very good, all things considered. But I'm discouraged and weigh just what I did a month ago. All this smart and careful meal planning and food prep doesn't do any good if I eat 600 calories worth of candy, or 300…

Well... yeah. That's why the thread. I'm pretty sure I mentioned that concern somewhere on the first page. I've been very happy with the grill pan I got, though, my chicken this week is succulent and tender and basically perfect. I found a nice cast iron one for a good price and was unhappy with the electric Forman-type…

Also, for the first 5 months of my weight loss, my breakfast every day was Siggi's nonfat vanilla skyr yogurt and some Kashi blueberry cereal mixed in. Delicious, but I decided I could spend less and get a hot breakfast if I went a different direction.

Whoa this got weird. I came into the thread with intent to say YEAH I'M IN ARKANSAS and then it turns out we actually go to the same gym. Crazy! Say hi if you see me! But tbh I like working out alone. I go with my roommate sometimes and I feel like we slow each other down at different things. She takes a long time with…

Thanks for Googling that for me, @aeloine , I didn't have the nerve. So this is a boring but not horrible meal plan. Maybe useful for people who have literally no idea what or how to eat.

Mine was open for the first few months. I felt it held me accountable. Then I had a very stressful period with a car wreck and work stuff, and found myself embarrassed to log the food I was stress-eating. So I just wouldn't log it. It didn't take long for me to figure out that this was helping nobody, so I locked my diary…

Okay, clearly I didn't read this post thoroughly enough the first time. You should perhaps tell us what the diet is so we can have opinions on the matter. I'm pretty sure I know what my opinion will be, but God knows I've been wrong before. You don't seem to be saying we should eat only eggs, since you suggest putting…

Wait, is this person suggesting that we eat eggs and NOTHING BUT eggs?!

Thanks for the corrections, @Dnarules and @festerw ! Either I haven't been paying close enough attention in my markets (very possible), or my state demands pasteurization.

For your banana, do what the above comments suggested. Weigh it, peeled, in grams. Find one of the entries for USDA Banana and tell it how many grams your banana is. Easy! If you've already eaten your banana and it's too late to weigh it in grams, go ahead and enter it as 48 grams (I calculated that using your 1.7 ounces,…

I'm not a fan of aerosol food in general, but I have been looking into oil spritzers and sprayers. I haven't found one I'm satisfied with yet. Open to suggestions as long as they're food safe.

My plan was to freeze, but honestly I've just been refrigerating. So far I haven't notice much of a decline in quality except for raw veggies, obviously, which I prep for a day or two at a time instead of the whole week.

The hardest part for me hasn't been breakfasts and lunches, I pretty much have that under control. SNACKS are my weakness. Even if I'm not actually hungry, I often can't resist the vending machine or cafeteria. I used to bring little half peanut butter sandwiches for snacks, then I switched to almonds. They were both too…

As you can see by the responses in this thread, there are a couple different outlooks on this, and it really just depends on the person. For some people, weighing every day causes them to obsess. They do better weighing weekly or even less! For me and others, weighing every day means that each individual weigh-in is less…

I don't know whether to link to the r/askreddit thread, or to bring up the Low-Cal Calzone Zone. My head is spinning. A+ work, OP, would lol again.

Something non-food related I did was pick up taking walks on my breaks and lunch at work. I was able to get about two miles of walking in every work day until the weather got hot enough that I had to stop last week. It burned a few calories, sure, but just being more active made a huge difference in my general attitude. I…

Lol. I mean, sure, if you pay for travel expenses. ;)
