Oh, there are some around here, me included :) Anyone may add me if they like, I'm not very good at logging every day though, but I do come online every day! I'll send you a friend request.

Thank you :) I'm not expecting myself to stay one way forever, and even though I think about the future a lot, my focus is on the present and I'm trying to be realistic. I might get interested in other things as the time passes and I progress, though, some things will probably never be for me.

I know I should probably eat a bit more than 1800 since I want to gain some weight, maybe I should change it to 'gain 0.25 kg per week' to get something to aim for and then change back to maintaining when I'm at a higher weight. I will try to get closer to 70g/day since that seems doable for me in my current position, I…

The expectations I have is mostly just "feeling good", getting a little more flexible and after a while: better posture, I just asked if I could expect anything muscle growth-related in the OP because I had not really considered it before. The answers have varied, but I do understand after all the replies that I won't gain…

Alright, I thought it sounded a bit odd! I just entered that I'm planning on doing 30 min 6 days a week (I am tbh planning on every day, but maybe I will be too lazy once every week) in the settings for diet and fitness and it tells me I would burn 760 calories per week with that exercise... Maybe I shouldn't put anything…

Nice to see someone "like me"! You don't seem to have any issues with eating enough, that was what I struggled with for the longest time, and I'm happy that I'm around my 1800 goal every day now x) I guess I might have to adjust it a bit now when I start 30 min of yoga/pilates every day, but I don't think it will be by…
-
Oh, I woke up to a bit more than I thought x) instead of quoting all of you I will try to make one answer here, sorry if I forget something. First of all, starting with yoga and pilates is not something I do with a goal to gain muscles, I've wanted to start with those for years for many different reasons, I was just…

I see now that I didn't phrase the protein part in the OP as I recalled and a reply I made earlier might make things confusing. So to clarify: I am trying to reach 60g per day when it comes to protein, I'd say that I'm usually a few g below. If I found a way to make it higher without it feeling forced I would. I set the…

I did not mean that being vegan means I can eat less protein. For sedentary individuals the recommended amount of protein is 0.8g/kg, which I guess is the lowest anyone should eat, for more active people it's 1.2g/kg and up, and at 60g I am close to 1.2g/kg, so I'm not seeing why my intake would be so bad. Eating more than…

Thank you, I believe so too :)

Increasing protein is not something I will do. I am vegan and I feel like I am eating a lot of protein-foods. Legumes and quinoa/buckwheat/rice twice a day, oatmeal, hummus, seed crispbread, chia pudding and such for breakfast/snacks every day. If I aim at something it's 60g/day, because that's the amount I know I can eat…

My goals... I guess I want to be stronger and feel less frail. I want my posture to be better and it would be fun if I could touch the floor with my hands without bending my knees. The biggest reason why I want to start with yoga and pilates is the mental aspect. They've always seemed like my kind of thing, a way to relax…

The main reason as to why I don't want to lift weights is that it's not something I want to do for the rest of my life. I'm incorporating things into my lifestyle as a part of a permanent change, and lifting weights is just not something I enjoy. Then I guess I will end up very flexible instead! Jokes aside, I do hope I…

Thank you so much for your reply! That sounds great! I will take a look at the link. I really do hope it will be "enough" for me since I can see it being a permanent part of my lifestyle :)

I've been vegan since February but it is first now that I will attempt to be a healthy vegan, a bit slow I know x) Add me if you want! :)

Yes, I've understood by now that there are many different opinions as to what "clean eating" is and what you says makes perfect sense, @AnvilHead :) It is a bit odd that I've never encountered the different variations before, not sure how I managed that, but there's no point in trying to figure that out. I will leave this…

I told people that the thread was getting a bit hostile and was going to scare people off, after that I plunged into the discussion myself. I guess I tried to defend what i thought the thread was about, which was a mistake because it seems like I didn't understand it at all. I haven't started cooking from scratch yet, up…
-
I've realised that there seems to be a million different definitions of "clean eating" after having this discussion. In my head it is pretty much the same as eating things that you yourself cook from scratch. Now, I won't eliminate everything processed, but some things will go. This is not because I think they're…

Thank you so much for your reply, I needed it. I'm more confused than anything after this discussion. I was not expecting people to respond like they did to my plans. I suppose what you just said explains the response to a certain amount, I thought I did explain that I'm just trying to get healthy, but maybe I didn't…

You answered your own question, I saw both of those times as temporary, I do not do that now. I won't start eating those things again. I'm not sure why people are telling me to give up before I've even started, it is really the last thing I would expect from this site.
-
It will work and it will work just fine, I have cut out these foods two times before, both times went excellent, I ate well, the cravings completely went away. I got happier, more awake and energetic, and then at some point I considered myself "cured" and started snacking with my family infront of the TV again, and soon…

That sounds so good, though, almost forgot that I was hungry before I read that! Is trigger food the common name for that here? I suppose I have quite a few of those, like all those I mentioned, maybe it wasn't in this thread I mentioned them though, but I suppose "salty things" sums it up.
-
I didn't know it had so many definitions on here, I've always heard it was whole foods, unprocessed foods or minimally processed foods. I guess I misunderstood the conversation going on because of that, it came across as hostile and belittling to me, but if you say that it is not, I will drop it. I am cutting out a lot…
-
Maybe I've misunderstood something, but this thread quickly got filled up with people trying to tear down (with lack of a better word) that this was something worth doing. As if we're being silly even wanting to try this out. It's not nice.
-
I doubt anyone is scared to do so, but is it so terrible if people want to steer away from eating those things? Why bash them?
-
I'm not really sure how to respond to you. I wrote that as a reply to someone who stated that being normal weight is the main indicator of good health, as if it doesn't matter if you eat well or terrible, as long as it has the right amount of calories.
-
I'm sorry but I will have to question this part. The only thing being normal weight means is that you eat the right amount of calories. I am normal weight and I've mainly eaten potato crisps for the past years. Even if this doesn't cause me to gain weight, do you think I'm healthy? Of course everyone choose what they want…

I'm not really sure if I understand this discussion, tbh. What would be the less nutritious foods that wouldn't count as "clean"? (I do find this to be a weird word for it, but since that is what people use I don't know what else to call it) As far as I know some "clean" foods aren't very nutritious, like cucumber, but…
-
I personally don't see why it would be so impossible. Maybe there are people with a more strict view on "clean" food than me, but to me it just means keeping to food that is not processed, cooking from scratch (I'm not sure what to call it in english, sorry). I know that beside all these unhealthy snacks I've been eating…

The conversation that's going on will probably scare other like-minded people away from this thread, which is a bit of a shame. I would've loved to come in contact with more people who are interested in eating this way.
