  • No pun intended on the Food for Thought!!! hehehe
  • They say to eat at least your BMR each day. I know if I don't eat enough several things happen: I am hangry, tired, my body doesn't recover easily from working out, I have no energy, and all I think about is my next meal. My brain is foggy and by 3 PM I am almost falling asleep at my desk. Food is Fuel!!
  • Typical day. Say upper bodybody I.e dumbbell shoulder presses 30 lbs 3 sets 10 reps usually about 5 to 6 upper body exercises various movements between 10 and 15 lb weights. Higher amounts on machines....
  • So what would you add for additional weight lifting? Say 30 minutes moderate dumbbell or cable pulley machine or universal machines?
  • @Firefly0606 Last week I too was experiencing stomach pain and tightness, etc. I am thinking it was a bug. I have had digestive issues most of my adult life. I am wondering if its flu symptoms. Feel better!!!
  • This is wonderful news!!!!
  • @brileylmt thank you for the reassurance! feeling really good about things.lately. no problem hitting 2100 if not more this week. No scale since Thursday. My weight is the same as I started 6 weeks ago so no complaints there. Just up the 12 from September's first attempt. Thinking about inquiring about kick boxing classes…
  • Thanks for encouragement!! You are doing awesome too and I am so glad I have your journey on here to follow. It makes me feel 10 times better about eating more.... Feeling pretty good!!! Stayed off the scale this morning. Did take measurements and seem to be slowly going down. So no complaints there. Did a little cardio…
  • Leaving the scale untouched is working better than expected. I may take weekly measurements tomorrow or I might skip it this week altogether.. I have increased this week and today definitely ate more. Friday night is my take out night at home and we had a baby shower at work and I had a yummy chocolate cupcake someone…
  • Gonna just keep plugging away! Test the waters and see what happens!! Can't hurt. Keep increasing and see how things go!!!,Thanks for your input!!
  • I have been trying to eat enough protein as well. Loving these high protein pancake mix I bought at Target. Kodiak cakes. And protein bars etc. I am maintaining for the most part. A .25 lb gain since February 13. Not too shabby I suppose. Average eats 2166 for 5 weeks. Tdee 2225.
  • This is awesome. You make me want to eat more!!! My Fitbit Charge HR gives me an average TDEE of 2300 I don't log my strength workouts. EM2WL is 2450. Maybe someday I will reach that high... Working on 2200 for a few weeks..
  • Yep! Thank you!!
  • @raynn1 so basically you are saying unless I get to TDEE and sit there for awhile we are just going to keep gaining weight until I reach TDEE and it stabilizes?
  • You are definitely right about the scale. I feel like when I know that number and its higher than I think it should be my pants feel tighter and I think its all mental. when I didn't weigh in for two weeks mentally felt better. Measurements were taken weekly. Going to go up this week.. Hopefully I will be successful!
  • @empressichel I am in 4 weeks and started out at 154.2 first week 1. Burned 2348 Ate 2094 2. Burned 2375 Ate 2151 3. Burned 2285 Ate 2091 4. Burned 1876 Ate 2400 Windstorm knocked power, following week snowstorm horrible week with less gym time and eating more. 5. Ends tomorrow.... as of right now I am B 2234 A 2122 As of…
  • Since I already gained 10 plus lbs the first time I am so afraid of it going up and up. Gonna shoot for 2200 this next couple of weeks! Pretty much maintaining these past few weeks.
  • So this is interesting Since last Thursday I lost .40 lbs and I only went to the gym once. All due to the wind storm last week and snow storm this week. Didn't eat very well; In fact Fitbit said my TDEE was 1977 for this timeframe but MFP food entries I ate 2242 average per day. Even if my Fitbit says I burn 2400 on a…
  • Not sure about the iodine. Read about supplementing with Kelp. Best source of iodine. Hands cold just typing this!!
  • I think that is my biggest issue too with the sodium. Thought about a different weigh in day. I thought Tuesday mornings would be good. Maybe I should do Fridays instead. I am just really hoping this time is the charm. I weighed 132 3 years ago. Looking at some stats I was working out the same and eating a lot less. I was…
  • @Naturalnut in addition to your gain you saw. I stalked your food diary and you ate out a few times. ...I bet you it's sodium and water retention. Let me know what happens over the course of the next few days....if you weigh in again. I am curious to see if you lose it. :-)
  • I gained 10 lbs my first go at this and its still here. It is hard to wrap your head around it.you have to remember that it is water weight. You didn't gain 5 lbs of pure fat overnight! It will subside
  • I was expecting a gain from the increase in calories. Was scared at first of the scale and didn't want to hop on but thought I am not going to know what is going on if I don't. Pleasantly surprised. Here's to the next couple of weeks!!
  • Just checking in with everyone. It's been a couple of weeks now since I started up again and I took some measurements and weighed myself this morning. Down 1.1 lbs with a pinch down in measurements here and there. .25 or a .50 here and there. Won't get too detaily... Two Weeks ago my Average TDEE was 2348 and I ate 2094…
  • That is DEFINITELY some inspiration right there. Going down through her Instagram and darn she look great!!! Thank you for sharing!!
  • @naturalnut it's definitely been interesting. I started in September and lost it by December because I put on 10 lbs. And thought in January if I lowered my calories I would immediately see weight loss. Guess what: Nothing happened but I became irritable, tired and dragging my *kitten* to the gym each morning. Since coming…
  • Definitely keep us all posted on your journey. I love reading everyone's take on how they are actually feeling etc. We can all do this together and it helps to have some others on the same path. I am currently eating 2100 and my Fitbit is averaging 2300 now weekly. I am slowly adding 100 calories weekly. Deathly afraid of…
  • Thanks ladies. I really need all the support I can get right now!
  • Hi Everyone, I am back. I took a break from MFP, deactivated my account and went to My Food Diary for a couple of months which didn't help either...... started out at 150.4 on that site eating roughly 1800-1900 calories daily like it said with a pinch more on the weekends typically. Have not weighed myself since January…
