Thank you. And I can relate to horrible driver's license photos.

I lost about 70 pounds twenty years ago, felt great, loved being able to buy cute clothes. Then life and so much stress happened and I gained it back plus some. Two years ago I started MFP, lost ten pounds and then had a health crisis that caused me to lose another 50 pounds very fast. I was relieved to have a bump in my…

Trip to see family on the other coast at the end of May-- I want to be down 25 pounds from my recent starting weight (we'll be walking a lot and I hate being the one struggling).

I make a buttered rum cream cheese pound cake. I could crawl in it and die happy.

To me, I'm on a quest that I DECIDED to go on, not a journey. It's important to me in life generally to keep commitments, and completing this quest is a commitment I've made to myself. With that in mind, every choice of caloric intake and caloric burn is based on a committed decision I've already made.

My Air Force dad made that, too.

This is why Aunt Edna's jello mold was so gag-worthy in National Lampoon's Christmas.

Random comments: ~ No one has cared if I'm NOT drinking since I left college. However, the local culture here is not typical of most places re alcohol, and I've had to ignore people who've given me disapproving looks for having wine with my dinner. Good enough for Jesus, good enough for me. Don't want to drink? Don't. The…

Me too! I call it a quest. B)

Most effective response in my experience: "sounds like you're having a bad day. I hope it gets better." In most situations, overtly making it about THEM and expressing empathy does the trick. If she gets nasty, shrug and say nothing.

Naw, she was heating her meal.

What does the shirt say? I even took out my contacts and can't tell.

My breakfast every weekday is 1/3 cup of oatmeal cooked in water with berries or raisins, no sugar. I'd consider using peanut butter powder, though. I use milk in my coffee so I don't cook my oatmeal in milk. It doesn't bloat me and holds me over until my late morning banana. My other breakfast options require too much…

When my oldest started the teenaged grumpfest at dinner one night, I just kept smiling until my 9 year-old daughter asked why I wasn't annoyed. I said that I was just thrilled that he was doing everything the child rearing books said he would at that age and that he was wonderfully predictably normal. He was appalled. And…

I imagine the food I crave has spit in it. :p

I hope you're right! It's better to be positive. (I made the mistake of posting in a thread about how often I eat. Was brutally abused and had a couple people find other posts I'd made and mock me for them, so I'm a little sensitive)

Shout out to the two people who follow me around the forums "wooing" everything I post. Living in your heads, rent free. B)

Has she seen you lately?

Impressive! (Can your eyes be cured?)

Accidentally grabbed my "too small because I got fat" jeans yesterday and had them zipped up before I realized they were the "wrong" ones.

You look a decade younger. Wow

I'm 5'6" and 61. I've set 1300 calories as my daily goal. My starting/highest weight was 235. Two years ago I had decided I had to get my weight down and lost ten pounds before I got sick and couldn't take any nutrition through my digestive system for four months. (IV only.) I got used to always being hungry plus rapidly…

Ah. I assumed they meant well. Having been accused of a combination of stupidity and bad judgment for a sincere post myself, I think it seems uncivil to call them vultures preying on the desperate. (It also suggests the OP is intellectually compromised.) JMO.

Remember it's not about what you did before, it's about what you do now.

Just decide you're doing it. Then do it.

I agree with your first paragraph. Re the second, do the two people you mentioned gain something personally?

Ok. My bad. It's a fact that fasting is counterproductive to my metabolism.
