Congrats! So you’re at your first goal weight?

Here you go. Copied from the original post. “When I am asked for tips on weight loss, this is my response: You need to consistently be in a calorie deficit through diet. Not sexy, but effective. It helps me to take the emotion out of it - no good food. No bad food. Just calories. “Find a calorie tracker that YOU like (I…

@sillix I want to be as strong and as beautiful as you.

Thank you ❤️

Thank you for your kind words. Re my screen name: SaltySally was taken 😜. I live in Salt Lake City (for one more year before we return to the east coast) and was attempting a double entendre but this was the lame alternative.

Hi. I’m not new here but I hesitate to post on most threads because a couple of years ago I got swarmed by a young clique for saying I find it easier to lose weight if I spread my calories out over what I consider six small meals a day. Heresy? That’s still true for me so if it offends anyone please ignore me. 😜 I’m going…

Happy birthday, AnnPT77 🎂🎈🎉

I’d bet money you’re eating more calories than you think you are.

Greatest success post ever.

I’m 62 and remember counting calories as a teenager when labels didn’t provide any information. We used little books that listed calories for common foods. So YES the app is easy. And I’ve never done a diet club.

This has been mentioned already, but I didn’t realize people would think they should tell me I had lost “enough.” When you’re finally in a size 12 and you hear that, you know you’re doing something right AND you also learn a lot about other people’s character, agenda and insecurities. (My response, the last time it…

Look at you glow!

As a person with two siblings diagnosed with MS, I’m just more impressed by what you’ve done. Losing weight is hard enough without it. You’ve achieved something incredible.
-
Not sure why anyone gives this post a “woo.” Seems obvious that fatty/processed meats aren’t great choices when you’re trying to get the best nutrition you can in limited calories.

Two more: The woman I only see once a year (hubby’s work colleague, at a yearly dinner) who got tipsy and announced that I was lucky my husband hadn’t left me yet. (She’s very skinny and obsessed with her weight.) The wife of another work colleague of my husband’s who, after I’d lost 20 of the 45 pounds I’ve lost so far,…

Yes yes yes.

Fist bump. I relate to your story and had a similar one. Also I think we’re invisible to many not-fat people and often viewed as stupid for being heavy. That’s one of my petty reasons. Another is that I was described as being easy to confuse with a coworker I despise. That has to end. 😜

What happens when you add someone as a friend?

Well, that’s because science, like CICO. 😜

Depends on 1. Whether they can do so without insults and 2. Whether they can explain how it’s “misinformation.” I posted something last year about what I was doing to rev up my metabolism and I was jeered and mocked and had a pack of people following me to other threads to talk about how I was out to hurt people with my…

Going across the country next week to visit extended family who haven’t seen me in awhile and I want to be 25 pounds lighter than I was at Christmas.

I’m sitting on a chair at an outdoor table where I last sat in October. Without a pad it’s hurting my less-ample butt. And packing for a trip next week, I’ve discovered I can wear things I outgrew two years ago. #closetshopping

Twenty years ago I lost 70 pounds doing exactly this. Ignore the people who “woo” at it.

I’m 61. My 62 year old sister (a little chubby but not too bad) died suddenly of cardiac arrest in December, followed a few weeks later by my 70ish, skinny-but-sedentary aunt. I had a come-to-Jesus moment and DECIDED I needed to get healthier. It’s been 11 weeks. I DECIDED on a calorie limit and have stuck to it. I…

Well done.

No, it makes sense. Being tethered to anything is something I want to avoid. We travel a lot and it takes up space. We also have power outages that I can’t sleep through because I need the cpap to breathe. I’m crossing my fingers that at my goal weight I can put my cpap away.

My days aren’t six weeks long, no.
