Just finished a 5.5k run.

Because no progress is better than slow progress? I'm not seeing the logic here. Keep going until you're happy with where you're at.

September 25th: 220.4 Weight -/+ this week: -1.4 Weight -/+ this month: -2.6 Successes / struggles this week: Worst month ever, since I started counting calories. Going to go way, way out on a limb and say it's the exercise? I've definitely stepped up my exercise game this month, and while I'm not making "mad gainz", I'm…

Anybody here ever hear of polyamory?

Not quite good enough to make up for last week, though. Still going to be tough to hit that goal this month.

Being awake way too early and obsessing over somebody I can't have as much of as I'd like to.

Most depressing MFP thread, ever. :p I'd rather see "delicious foods that are surprisingly low cal".

I'm a "music while exercising" person myself, but I like to listen to podcasts when I'm driving. The Beer Powered Time Machine is far and away my favorite. It's really only tangentially about beer, insofar as the guys on the cast are drink and critique 3-4 beers per show in between segments. It's really about people…

Goal for September: Finish C25K and also move from the treadmill to the sidewalk. W5D3 complete!

September 4th: 225.8 September 11th: September 18st: September 25th: Weight -/+ this week: +2.8 Weight -/+ this month: +2.8 Successes / struggles this week: A friend showed me how to sync Fitbit steps, and so I did, but the amount of calories per day that it adds to my goal is absurd. We're done with that now.

50% is the rule of thumb I keep seeing on these forums. Which makes tracking calories a bit of a pain, since I can no longer trust at a glance the number that's showing up on my phone widget. Would be nice if MFP would allow us to set a percent of exercise to add back.

False... but will the wife agree with my decision? TNP is going to the gym tonight.

Maybe instead of looking at him as a bad influence for what he eats, maybe you could focus on how much he trains and works out and look at him as a good influence as you work to increase your fitness and burn more calories?

Store bought, but only because I'm lazy. Porter or Witbier?

I don't drink beer every day anymore, but I do try to fit it into my allotment once or twice a week. As I become more active, I can fit more beer in. On days when I'm a desk potato, I don't drink. I do have a "beer weekend" about once a month where I will be partying with friends and drinking many beers, and I just try to…

At your weight, 2500 is absolutely not too high. I started at 293 lbs, and my target for losing 2 pounds per week was over 2,000. I dropped about 15 pounds in my first month and then went into settings and recalculated. I keep recalculating about once a month. I'm currently at 68 pounds lost with a daily goal of 1700.

Yes, you absolutely can. Going to the gym and not counting calories got me nowhere. Counting calories, even when I skip the gym for an entire month straight, I get results. As for junk food... I'd say it depends. Your calorie goal will not be my calorie goal (most likely). When I started this program, my daily calorie goal…
