  • I’m Italian, I have family there that I’m very worried about. And you’re right, we are very affectionate, we great each other with kisses, it’s rude not to, especially my Nonna and Nonno when we visit. I haven’t seen them for weeks now, I wouldn’t put them at any kind of risk especially as being a nurse I am more…
  • That wedding is exactly wear my mind went to when I msgd her. And NOW I heard that the NSW government let those 4 ships dock and 2700 people disembarked after 4 positive tests onboard after the fed government said no 😔 those poor people and I feel terrible for Sydney residents (of corse along with other states and…
  • Well it’s not so much prep but I was really angry today. As we’ve been told, no gatherings over 100 people. My friend went to a wedding with about 90 guests. So that’s not incudling the workers. I said I wldnt put yrself or the kids at danger, the answer I got was, word for word “I don’t care, doesn’t worry me, people are…
  • I personally don’t think this virus cares what ethnicity or race you are. It’s everywhere and anyone is susceptible to it. I wish so much that testing was more avaliable then we would have the true numbers of people who have it rather than just those deemed “high risk”. Stay safe
  • I can’t believe they would keep something like that still on!! I work in health too (in Australia) and all education, seminars ect have been cancelled. I would be refusing, especially if I was unwell. Take care of yourself
  • <3 Please take care and stay strong <3
  • Trying to convince my 18 year old it’s in her best interest she should be rubbing my feet.
  • I’m sorry to hear yr dad and yr family are going through this. I would think that while having chemo, protection of the person receiving this is of the upmost importance to give the treatment a chance to be effective, so that eventually he CAN go out and visit people he loves and do the things he wants without putting his…
  • Oh Really? That’s reassuring. What also worries me a little bit, is that there is so many different recommendations, it’s frustrating. I think WHO says soap and water, our head dr and pandemic advisor told out team that it is the best protection but I still use sanitiser also constantly between things like removing gloves…
  • Washing hands with soap and water for 30 seconds (or singing two rounds of happy birthday) is what is recommend, hand sanitizer isn’t a real protector so we have been advised.
  • Affected me a bit. I’m a registered nurse in Australia working at a large drs surgery. Every day recommendations change, availability for testing is only for high risk people so we don’t really know how fast it’s being transmitted in the community and may be missing people who are transmitting unknowingly, so managing the…
  • Thanks lietchi. My context was that when I was starting out on MFP, seeing that kind of info didn’t help because I wanted to learn how to log and reduce calories at first, that’s just me personally. Lyle is a wacky dude lol
  • Hey cherrylou, I’m not going to hit the disagree button but I am going to say that you don’t need to “shock” your body into anything. You also don’t need to eat more carbs then eat less carbs to loose weight. To me that doesn’t sound right at all and I don’t mean to be rude, this kind of misinformation can be confusing…
  • Hey OP, I’ve been using MFP for 3 years. For me the first three months were the hardest. Because ultimately I was eating less and trying to get into the swing of things. I browsed the forums, learnt as much as I could (I still do) I religiously counted calories and weighed food and it became a habit. Weighing food was the…
  • Hey OP, browse the forums, follow the above graph, be honest with yr logging it’s all about what you eat and above all keep going! Maybe try a weight trend app like happy scales as weight fluctuates. This has happened to many of us on MFP and tightening up our logging seems to help significantly from what I’ve read and…

  • Totally agree. I’m from Tasmania, we’ve had one confirmed case and the shelves in half the supermarkets in Launceston looked like this. We’ve even had to hide toilet paper at work and refill through the day because people have been taking it. It’s absolutely bizarre.
  • I understand where yr coming from, the same can be said for the magazines that are left for people to browse, especially sick adults who read them and don’t wash their hands. The toys at my clinic are wiped with antibacterial wipes at the end of the day and during lunch and some times the wait to see a dr, dependant on a…
  • Exactly @missysippy930 Hand hygiene and cough etiquette is imperative! For people who may think they have the virus they aren’t leper’s, which in my line of work I have found people feel they are. I also do hope people who are worried and have travelled to high risk countries and are symptomatic think of others before…
  • The appoocalypse
  • It took me 18 months just to loose 57lb (25kg) I could never have done a 1000 calories a day. That’s just me personally. I went slowly to ensure I could maintain a habit of eating smaller portions past hitting my goal weight to maintain for the rest of my life. I did 1200 and was cranky, hungry and lacked energy, that’s…
  • I confess, being a single mum has never been as hard as it is since my youngest daughter turned 15. I feel more mentally exhausted than I ever have and I feel so guilty even thinking it let alone saying it out loud because I love my two girls so damn much :-(
  • Same as what @Lillymoo01 said. I have a range rather than a set weight and fluctuations within this Doesn’t matter so much. I’ve lost 24.8kg (54.6lb) but it took a long time and slow going to get there. I don’t track as much anymore, I’ll have weeks where I do and where I don’t. I feel like the usual meals I eat I’ve…
  • This is exactly what I thought when dislike first came out! A Dislike personally aimed at me from people disgruntled with me conversing about an opposite opinion they have. That’s because I, personally, don’t go dislikeing something someone says just because, I usually say something in a respectful manner if I feel…
  • This is why I don’t “diet”. For me, starting on MFP was for weight loss and it’s Calorie in calories out that contribute to losing weight. If low fat products have less calories than the full fat options that’s what I’ll eat
  • the amazing beach bod
  • Wish I was that relaxed on the beach right now “sigh”
  • Best post EVER award! I’m subclinical hypo. Not quite low enough to be diagnosed with hypothyroidism but low levels. I get most of the symptoms. Fatigue, freezing and hair falling out mostly. Love this post, thank u
  • I first started MFP 3 years ago so every single morning when I first started and I used happy scales to see my trend because I got discouraged with the fluctuations. Now it’s mostly once a week.
