One of my goals. And I enjoyed it. Just gonna have to do it a bit earlier. I didn't take a deep breath 4x a day, but I did do it twice a day!!…

  • Ok. This is my 3rd try at posting. I keep losing the screen. Aaargh. So I'm gonna keep it simple. Without naming names, I've tried kale chips, they're pretty good. I also use kale in power shakes. HIIT is great. I vary my speeds using music instead of timing it. So when a fast song comes on I speed up for the duration of…
  • Goal179 - I have lost 50 pounds. And I did it using MFP. Around 2012, I got down to 200 and a size 14. Still have those jeans. Looking forward to the amazing feeling of being able to fit them again! I lost the weight by tracking, eating 1200 calories a day and exercising almost every day. I pretty much cut out bread and…
  • Thursday Truth I continue to eat gobs and gobs of junk food. Chocolate kisses are my biggest temptation at the moment. I will eat like 45 kisses - about 900 calories. So even though I eat well otherwise I blow it. As I mentioned recently, I learned that sugar is just as addictive as drugs. Some here refer to it as the…

  • nikion901 - Thank you for responding. I've actually had a few doctors over the years (since 1990) who did not start with the 3x a week thing. And others who did. Have done soooo much PT. It is helpful, but that calls for 3x a week too. I just need to figure out how to get workouts in. They are such a huge part of weight…
  • Niki, Bapcarrier, Lydiapass and anyone else who lost weight this week -- in addition to my awesome check, congratulations!! Friday Fitness: Went to gym to weigh myself. Not good. And not surprised. I have to work a 10 hour shift today. I recently found a new chiropractor and he's got me going 3x a week. This keeps me away…
  • Hey all. I am going to weigh myself tomorrow. Scale is at gym, not at home so I don't always get there My usual weigh ins are Saturday Truth Thursday-- ice cream twice. General tsaos chicken -- with broccoli(as if that helps
  • Moodybear: hi there. Your journey is familiar to me and I'm sure others here. I hope you have a chance to unload here and feel better about yourself. This is not a race, it's a journey. Sometimes we gain sometimes we lose. I'm jumpstarting myself after going awol for a month. I lost 55 lbs four years ago using my fitness…
  • Jam5660 - tx for the input.
  • Welcome. I joined about two weeks ago. It's great.
  • Monday share - I was over my calorie goal every day. ... by a lot. But I'm tracking and developing the self discipline to bring eating habits back to a good place This morning someone I work with said I look like I lost weight. Now that out a smile on my face! Looking forward to a successful week!
  • Sunday share: I was down to 210 at beginning of August and went off the grid for a month (little to no exercise, no tracking, back to junk food in excess).. Gained 7 lbs back. Seems every time I approach 200 I go awol. So a pound a week it is for this challenge!! Nikion901: goodness that is quite an experience finding your…
  • Saturday success. I worked out at the gym for two hours today.
  • Fitness Friday: After a month long hiatus, I FINALLY returned to the gym. Swam on Wednesday and Spinning on Thursday. The Spinning was a killer. But, I gained 7 pounds on this hiatus.. Feels good to be back on track.
  • So I figured. I was born in Quebec, but am American. ... but two sisters live in Canada. Long stories about those wait lists and what's not covered. My sisters always joke that I can never go back cause I'm so spoiled by American health care (p.s. I work for government so my plan is super)
  • I've always found that drinking water helps. Or a flavored no cal drink. If having to "go" at night is an issue, my choice would be carrots -- crunchy -- that satisfies me.
  • First off - congratulations for losing weight, for qualifying for the surgery. I use the my fitness pal food tracker to track my food. The nice thing about it, is it is setup to tell you how much protein, fat, calcium, carbohydrates you should be having in a day. But it does rely on the individual to set the # of calories…
  • Wow, I don't know how you have endured a 6 month wait. I'm guessing you don't live in the U.S. I wish you all the best. It seems they are making great progress with MS research .. know two women with it... Wishing you the best!!
