I've put on 1lb this week but I guess it is not surprising as I was staying with a friend over Easter and I won't bore you all with the chocolate we ate! I think I'm lucky it is only 1lb -I hope I lose it this week...

You don't sound overweight at all, maybe your body is telling you something... Concentrate on being healthy and remember women are meant to have curves, look at Modigliani pictures of women, beautiful, rounded stomachs!

I gave up smoking at your age and put on 15lbs very quickly. To be honest I've never got back to my previous "smoker weight". I believe some people's metabolism is effected more by nicotine than other people and I'm one of them and perhaps you are too. Concentrate on being healthy and don't worry so much about what you…

I'm older than all of you - I am 70, but I'm doing ok. I'm not trying to be the size I was when I was younger (I'd look a lot older if I tried!). My main goal is to be a healthy BMI weight which for me is around 140-145 lbs (I'm 5'5"), I've lost 5 lbs in the last 5 weeks, not evenly, a couple of weeks I didn't lose…

I lost my post, I'll write it again - I totally get the Guylian (we have it in the UK too). I've twisted a ligament too, my physio says I can swim but no breastroke... I think logging is the single most useful thing as it makes me think before I consume knowing I've got to put it in my food diary. Good luck I'll be…

I know how you feel, I've been doing ok, then I went out last night - result is a whopping 2.5lbs heavier this morning, I'm hoping it is just water retention from salty food - dieting is so difficult if you go out...and miserable if you don't!

Good luck I'm sure you will do it but beware it takes more time than you think to lose a few pounds. I don't seem to have lost any weight this week and this is where the food logging really helps. I've looked through and realised that I need to cut down the snacks - although my overall calorie intake is ok and generally…

I've been on MFP for 3 weeks now and finding it helpful. I'm also in the normal weight range and started with the goal of losing 9-10lbs - I've already lost 4 so another 5 to go, I also have the arthritis issues which sometimes makes exercise a problem but I'm doing my best. I find logging food very good as it makes me…

Set small goals first as 70 pounds sounds so daunting - start with trying to lose 10 pounds. Logging everything is important it makes you more aware if what you are eating and it helps you eat the right things.

Fasting certainly works for some people my sister-in-law did the 5/2 diet and lost 15lbs! However, I found it very difficult as I'm at home a lot more and food is all around to tempt me. I do better on regular meals and being very concious of what I'm eating, which is why tracking is so helpful. I don't quite understand…

I'm eating 1,400 calories, though mostly I've been under. I've lost 4lbs in 3 weeks and am well pleased. You just have to keep at it, weight lost slowly stays off longer in my experience and I've done enough crash diets to know they don't work long term...
