  • Is this unusual? (If it is, I'd just have a low kj snack and go to sleep.) If it's not or your pretty new to mfp then I'd say you need to play around with your macros. Some people find higher fat/lower carb more satiating, some people find higher levels of protein more satiating, some people prefer low fat high carb and…
  • I was on a medication that had appetite suppression as a side effect and lost a reasonable amount of weight. The thing is, when I was taken off the medication, my appetite came back and so did the weight. Plus a bit extra. If you do it with drugs you're likely to just go back to old habits (because you didn't unlearn them,…
  • Yeah, I think I really need to do an elimination diet to figure out my triggers. I'm completely clueless as to what healthy foods may cause triggers. I've figured out a few ( peppers, onions, eggplants,) but I don't think I have it all figured out [/quote] Try googling FODDMAPs. They're the things that people with IBS are…
  • Have you seen a doctor for your digestion problems? You don't need to be "regular" as such. But too much constipation or diarrhea is not good for you.
  • Actually, historically, people's diets was heavily carbs based. (Unless you were very wealthy.) If you didn't have carbs you probably didn't have anything.
  • I think he meant that it was harsher than some of the other fiber supplements (he asked me to take another brand, called Normafibe) but it was a while back and there was a lot of information to go through during that particular appointment so he didn't go into detail. Sorry I can't be more specific.
  • It doesn't much matter which fiber supplement you take (psyllium husk, benefiber, something else) as long as you find it works for you. My gastro doesn't recommend psyllium husk because he finds a lot of people are sensitive to it. Have you tried a low FODMAPs diet? It helps a lot of people with IBS
  • This thread is a little on the old side, but issues like the OP's don't just go away, so I thought I'd post. I had long, really heavy periods for which none of the birth control methods worked and I ended up having an endometrial ablation. I'm so happy I had it done. No pain, very light period that I barely notice. It's…
  • It could just be water weight (especially if it's overnight loss) but you can loose a lot of weight without meaning to when you're sick (I've lost 10kg on a couple of occasions over a period of 5 weeks or so of illness.) However, I would stick to a maintenance diet whilst you're ill and not try to exercise because you need…
  • I have chronic migraines (along with fatigue) as well. Exercise is really hard for me too. I walk in the mornings when I've got the most energy and I don't feel guilty if I'm not well enough. I find if I push too hard my migraines are worse but some exercise generally does me good. Some people find yoga is good for…
