  • Well it would be the equivalent of drinking a bottle of drain TO ME. That's because I have MCS and I if I eat fast food I puke my guts out due to my personal chemical sensitivities. But that doesn't mean I think fast food is toxic TO EVERYONE.
  • Above is the Drano quote....wasn't me.
  • The truth is I wrote that comment to the one where you put in all caps "THERE ARE NO TOXINS" but for some reason when I hit post, the Homer pic appeared. I was like WTF happened?
  • So? What else was I supposed to call these substances if not toxins? This is a thread about detoxes which people buy to detoxify toxins. Was I supposed to insert a "so-called" in front of every mention of "toxin"? I really don't see a problem with what I wrote. I'd already said they were rubbish, why would I also need to…
  • I never said that so how can I have that view? I think you are confusing me with someone else?
  • Just because another country isn't as good overall doesn't mean they never have good ideas now and then. Why would I want the Gov dictating to private business how they should run their companies? Fair Labour Standards Act....that's why. Go check it out...the Giv has a looong history of dictating to business on labour. And…
  • ? Go read my first post..which was incidentally, the first post on this thread after the OP. I said that detoxes were snake oil and a waste of money...so it makes no sense to say that I was arguing "so hard" with people who were also saying detoxes are garbage. Why would I argue against my own opinion? I only posted…
  • I think it would be great for medical uses if it could be accurate enough. I know people who've had to get fitted out with portable heart monitors because of suspected arythmias/heart conditions. I don't think there is a way to measure mood...though..so no use for mental conditions except maybe you could track extremes…
  • Yeah I know it's rainbows and unicorns wishful thinking....
  • There's not much the Gov can do. I've said all along we should stop spending taxes on farm subsidies which encourage the over production of things like corn, dairy and beef...because that's created the glut of HFCS, cheese and burgers. There's something wrong with our priorities for subsidies when a Snickers bar or a…
  • Sorry to hear you have a brain tumor. Oh, I understand it was difficult to tell...that was part of my lightbulb hey they're not joking moment.
  • Agree. I think IF non fast days could be viewed as built in cheating by some.... the word "cheat" has so many meanings.
  • I'm like GottaBurnEmAll, the grocery store is a minefield. I'm not a celiac, thank goodness, but I do have MCS. So there is a long list of additives, preservatives, bleaching agents, and dyes I cannot ingest safely. So I have to read labels very carefully. Some foods I don't even know what in them causes a reaction...for…
  • I agree with you. My weight will fluctuate by 1-3lbs in a single day so I don't consider that I've actually lost or gained weight until I'm in the +/- 5lbs range.
  • It takes me a while to write. So I was writing my response while you were editing your post. Which is why the edit isn't in my response. Cheers.
  • I could have said that if I had realised what was going on. I honestly thought we were all joking around. All the way through the apple and vodka statement, I was thinking oh were all having a laugh at the detox companies. As soon as I realised that you guys were seriously thinking that was what I believed, I started right…
  • Thanks for admitting you edited your post after I responded to it.
  • Why are you sad? I answered all your questions and at great personal cost I might add.
  • Newsflash. I had a TBI. I had to relearn everything...reading, writing, speaking, I am effing DISABLED with SEVERE cognitive impairments. So yeah, I have trouble communicating. Experiences like this make me want to give up and wish I hadn't fought so hard to not be a vegetable. You guys have NO IDEA how hard it can be to…
  • Actually it's maddening that you would rather call someone a liar than admit to a possible misunderstanding...because you are so perfect right? You never misunderstand anything, it's always perfectly crystal clear to you.
  • Nice try. Obviously I'm not "implying" that I am understood because once I realised it wasn't all joking around but people actually thought I had posted MY view when I posted detox company marketing info in response to your question, I have been posting lots of explanations to try and reach understanding. No. Happy?
  • Yes I do. Because if you read the thread all I said was that part of the selling strategy of the detox companies is to tell people to "abstain from toxins such as alcohol, caffeine and fast food" which is what is written as instructions for use on a lot of these detox programs...I said they say that specifically so people…
  • No, I don't consider them toxic personally. I was only repeating what the detox companies say to people as instructions for use. Look if someone wrote what do you think about shampoo? And I responded, it's ok but no coincidence the companies tell you to was rinse repeat so they can get you to use more of the stuff. Would…
  • Please elaborate what you mean by that.
  • Sigh, I wasn't claiming there inherently are toxins. All I did was state that it's no coincidence that the detox companies tell people to "abstain from ingesting toxins like alcohol, caffeine, fast food" that phrase is not MY claim. It was just me saying "this is what the detox companies say".
  • Ignorance is bliss was about people who use detox products being all blissful because they think they're uber healthy. Enjoy your toxins was a joke...along same lines as everyone else jokes...hence the smiley face. The apple and vodka, also a joke...in response to joke about vetting sources and being happier.
  • Sigh, I was "parroting" detox company marketing/advertising because I was egged into doing it. The hyperbole is there on purpose.
  • Are you saying the last time you studied chemistry was as a kid?
  • I consider mutagenesis to be a rudimentary form of GE. I don't view it as a traditional nonGMO/nonGE method.
  • Look, I had a team of four specialists and was responsible for a portfolio that averaged around 3,000 research projects going on at once. Yes, most also had industry partnering on the funding. We would have multiple Universities studying the same thing...all with different mixes/sources of funds....and most of the time…
