How is a salad, carrot stick, apple slices fast food? I guess we have different definitions of fast food then.

I have to disagree on the thin shaming thing. It is exactly like fat shaming only it's the opposite side of the same coin. The only reason that fat shaming is more prevalent is because 68% of the population is fat (overweight or obese) and only 8% of the population is thin ( underweight) so of course fat shaming is going…

I think it's an interesting video. The controls were poorly thought out so all I could really take away is that there is such a thing as mental fatigue ( which I know is true from experience) and that mental fatigue affects self control. In the experiments there may have been other things at play...eating cookies gives you…

I'd try using the recipe builder. You can put in how much chicken breast, how many grams greens, and then ml of dressing or oil and you'll get an accurate reading.

Oatmeal...the traditional cook on the hob kind not the quick nuke for a minute kind.

It's not quite unlimited demand because demand can be projected quite easily based on the population on their rolls and said populations' medical records. They know how many people have each health issue, they know where they live, they know what treatments are needed and when. Too, the VA isn't really a socialised medical…

I have several disabilities but don't think I am as physically affected as you are. I have extreme fatigue from a TBI. So I have trouble being active...some days it's impossible to get out of bed other days I can walk a bit or do yoga. I'm on MFP so I don't gain weight as I've never been under enforced inactivity like this.

I'll do it as well. My three poses are 1) half moon, 2) crow and 3) grasshopper

Sugar isn't something to detox from. It's just something to have in moderation. If you're worried about sugar rushes and crashes, just ensure you eat it with fibre ( i.e. Fresh fruit instead of juicing it) or proteins/fats ( trail mix and bars).

I agree with Heather, you should see a specialist and a physiotherapist about your foot and Achilles' tendon.

It doesn't last forever. Your stomach will get used to less food and so you won't be suffering from such hunger pangs in future. Good advice on having a drink or going for a walk.

Hi there. I am in my mid forties and am maintaining weight while trying to get healthier ( I am battling severe fatigue from a traumatic brain injury). I use MFP because I've never been so inactive in my life and I didn't want to get overweight. You're welcome to send me a friend invite if you'd like to. Cheers.

No. I can't exercise on a full stomach. It makes my performance tank and I feel rotten.

You don't always need a sauce for stir fry if you're worried about sodium. Sometimes I'll just use some sesame oil with five spice for flavouring.

While I agree obesity is largely a matter of individual responsibility, I do think that certain things should be considered from a public health standpoint. For example, when planning towns or infrastructure upgrades and repairs...nothing wrong with considering bike lanes and walkability as factors within the planning. For…

Yep, we are all different. Personally I get stomach cramps if I eat while exercising so eating every hour would not work for me. I've mostly done mountain climbs and long rides over mountain passes so miles wise it's not as long as a century ( which I have done) but I find it more fun and challenging to be going forty…

Not really unless you're willing to go under the knife. But the pear shape is a good shape to have. I am pear shaped too.

It's a business rag, not even a scientific journal. Besides, even if it us true this one man lost weight (#1 only) eating only McDonalds doesn't mean he did it eating only fast food as McDonalds sells non fast food ( i.e. Salads, carrot sticks, etc) as well as fast food. Secondly, a sample size of one is too small to be…

Ahhhh the Mirror...best peer reviewed scientific journal on the planet. Wasn't this the issue that had Kate Middleton topless?

No those things have not been proven at all. In fact the opposite has been proven. You're just pulling my leg. If you really believe that, well then, I guess ignorance is truly bliss. Enjoy your deep fried cancer sticks.

Snacks are good but your plan has you eating 300 plus calories every hour all day. You have big breakfast, two snacks, lunch, then three snacks and presumably dinner. Over eight hours, you're eating eight times. Different strokes for different folks but personally I could not eat every hour.

Hello there. Sorry you've just been through a separation from your partner. On the comfort food eating...if it's homemade you can adjust the recipes and portion sizes using the MFP recipe builder so that you can still eat your favourite foods in moderation. If you have trouble stopping eating, keep a diary/journal of the…

It's real. You can over train. I've injured and reinjured myself many many times that way until I wised up and realised more is not always better.

Yeah it's fine. I just go by week anyway as I don't eat if I'm not hungry and some days I have a restaurant meal which puts me over. Nothing wrong with an up/down pattern of eating so long as you aren't torturing yourself by over restricting and then binging. The emotional aspects of eating should not be ignored.

Since the thread is asking for "unpopular opinions" nothing wrong with me expressing one of my "unpopular opinions." As for scientific proof, there is a lot of proof out there that fast food is "not good." So makes you go hmmmm.if it's not good, then what is it? What is the opposite of good, Elmo? Let's watch some Sesame…

Thank you. I will take another look at TKMaxx then. It seems to be a race to the bottom in retail that is for sure.

I'm hoping it was a joke. But I knew people who drove next door, took a golf cart to the end of their drive ( 300ft) to get the mail, complained about all the walking at Disney when we walked one third of one mile....there are people who think a mile is a crazy long distance to walk.

The best meat that gives the most nutrition is long pig aka canabalism. But then you'd risk being infected by brain eating prions as well as being arrested.
